  1. Gotta give this person some credit: All I got from reading this article is the urge to build a time machine, go back in time, and slap myself for even considering reading the ramblings of a butthurt idiot trying to describe a game that he most obviously doesn't comprehend in the slightest. Ugh. I want my five minutes back. :wall:
  2. I just had a conversation with my dad about ways to improve the achievement of getting lvl 99 in a particular skill. Shortly into the conversation, I got excited, because it's something I've always wanted, but knew would never happen... because as far as I know, I'm the first one to think of it. Here's the idea: an untradeable item that you can buy when you hit level 99 in a skill, that will help with the skill if you wish to train it further, OR just something useful all around. This needs a lot of refinement, and the idea is in the development stage... which is why I'm here. I need ideas. I have a few, but I want at least one item idea for each skill before I bother to post on the RSOF. A few examples, so everybody is on the same page: 1. A two handed woodcutting axe. Why isn't there one already...? Wilfred is walking around with his... where did he get it? It would just be nice to be able to chop magic logs faster than somebody nine levels below me, or to chop willows faster than somebody 30 levels below me. It's frustrating. 2. A portable stove. Wait... what? Firemaking is useless. The only reason people actually train it (if they ever actually do) is for another 99, or to get the adze at level 92. But a portable stove, with, say, the lack of burning benefit from the range in the Lumbridge kitchen (or greater) would at least make it a little more useful. You'd have to add logs to it, and light them, then set it down and COOK on it... (all credit for this one goes to my dad) See where I'm going with this? ANY ideas or criticism you guys have would help out a toooon (and any great contributions will be posted here with due credit). Also, thank you to everyone who actually read this.
  3. This is the best advice you can get. I JUST started doing this recently, and I'm kicking myself in the rump for all the potential profit I've missed out on.
  4. All of this implies that I have done the quests for the juju potions (and the herblore requirement), am capable of 8 herb runs a day, and that I have the requirements for the quests for korasi's sword. Ugh. (NONE of which apply to me) I agree entirely. //thread
  5. I've BEEN doing mtk AND herb runs AND slayer like crazy for the past week... that's pretty much ALL I've been doing. BUT, I've made up my mind alone, since apparently nobody understood my question. /thread
  6. That's the question...
  7. ALRIGHT, this is more of an opinion question to help me make up my mind, but here goes: Should I buy a sara sword for training strength through slayer, OR should I stick with my dragon scimitar and def and get a fury ammy? (I've kind of always wanted one...)
  8. There's really no significant difference between the penance horn and the penance master horn as they hold the same exp potential. All you get with the penance master horn is bragging rights and a new emote. (pro all here) ALTHOUGH, the higher levels you get within the game, the easier it will be to play, and the faster you can gain exp potential later on; it's your choice. Personally, I fell in love with barb assault, and maxed everything, but that's just me.
  9. I'm really glad you understood that. I've been awake for over 28 hours, and I was afraid I was typing in a different language. Best of luck to you with your agility training.
  10. If my math is correct (don't quote me, but I think it is), you'd need to fill your horn up to the third stage or "less than a quarter full" to get from 53 to 65. But, I'd err on the side of caution and fill it up to "around a quarter full". That should have more than enough charge to get you to 65. I'm not sure how many rounds it would take, but with a good team, it'll fly by reeeeally quick. For a good reference, the Master Penance Horn has 15 stages (a list of which can be found here), and if you assign each stage a number (1-15, excluding empty), you can use this formula to find out how much bonus exp you'd get for your level at each stage: [skill level] * [stage of horn (1-15)] * 1000 So, in your case, the formula would look like [53] * [3] * 1000 which equals 159,000 bonus exp, when added to the 159k you'd gain normally, it would give you 318,000 exp, which is more than the 312,834 exp required from lvl 53 to 65. Woof... hope that helps, and sorry it's so long.
  11. It depends on how you train it, but if I'm not mistaken, all ways profit (some more than others). Hope you're in for a long haul, though- it'll take a while.
  12. Thanks for all the replies. BUT, is there anything that provides semi-fast, cheap, consistent exp? (Comparable to smelting gold with gaunts for smithing?) I'll add the question in the OP just so there's no confusion.
  13. SO, since you guys were so incredibly helpful in getting me from 72 to 80 smithing (which I'll finish before I go to sleep), I thought I'd check if there was a cost effective/moderately quick way to level crafting. Currently 63, looking to bring it up to 80. Please and thank youuuuu. <3: EDIT - Is there anything that provides semi-fast, cheap, consistent exp? (Comparable to smelting gold with gaunts for smithing?)
  14. Thanks to everyone for the help. I never knew I could smelt while I smelt. I have all the materials for 80 smith, and I'll probably get there within a few days. You guys are awesome.
  15. So has Tip.It. I'm somebody that would compete nowadays because I've grown (a lot) in levels. :shades: Only because we could out-awesome them without trying. :ugeek:
  16. I'm with you in that 6%, so don't feel bad. And I've never even heard of people doing this to each other, which shows how much I'm in the wilderness, I guess.
  17. A worthy mention should be made of the willows north of the Entrana deposit box, also (which IS usable in F2P). It's slightly further, but generally less crowded, so it evens out.
  18. Whyyyy have I never heard of this before? Is this faster or slower than mining/superheating it in the lrc?
  19. Is there any decently cheap/moderately fast way to get to 80 smithing from 72 (932,175 current exp)? Not looking for cannonballs, or anything as slow. Please and thank youuuuu.
  20. You should look into getting the slayer helm. It's awesome. Also, this is the page for the barrows gloves, which are also awesome. Both are very worth the time you would invest into them.
  21. You're more likely to find someone in the sticky. Best of luck, and welcome to the Tip.It Forums! EDIT: Beat me to it. :( Sad panda.
  22. ...you don't think ivy ruined wc enough...? <_< Mind, you're speaking to someone who's at 142M woodcutting XP largely thanks to ivy ;) You got my point. Congratulations. \:D/
  23. I HAVE done this. If you lop down an elder and get 30 minutes of lep time, you could probably fill up five or six urns on willows depending on how much attention you're giving it. I'm worried about this, too... ...you don't think ivy ruined wc enough...? <_<
  24. It would be really slow xp, which is kind of pointless. The logs appear in your inventory like they normally would, and you have to drop or bank them. Therefore, having an inventory mostly full of urns makes bank trips or dropping more frequent, thus denting xp rates. I just don't like it. :shame:
  25. You can only have 10 completed ones at any time... however the (nr) ones, you can have as many as you want  So in theory, you can have 10 completed ones, then another 17 ones without the runes, and then the runes as the 28th inventory slot. and that's the best camping way to get the xp.... but whose really trying that? =p I meant only having 10 FULL ones at a time. I have a couple hundred empty ones, but it's like somebody said earlier in the thread - it's a psychological thing. I want to be able to teleport a ridiculous amount all at once and make heaps of experience. Make me feel accomplished and such. ALSO, you have to drop the logs... which sucks. I'd rather they be teleported away in the urns; a straight trade for more exp. Just an opinion, though.
