December 10th Updates
Someone has a different point of view to yourself, so they are talking bullcrap? Wow. I am glad I don't argue with your intellectual equals on a regular basis, otherwise I'd be thrashed. #-o Oops, forgot the /sarcasm function. If you want to move to WoW, that's great. Of course they <3 their players more, because it is 100% pay to play. RS gains money of F2P through advertising. It just being there is enough. Oh sorry, I meant to say STOP TALKING BULLCRAP KTHXBI.
- Quitting?

Immature eight year olds *grumble*
Wow. So firstly, all people who are immature are eight year olds? Secondly, you don't like this guy, so he OBVIOUSLY bought his account? Thirdly (aimed at whoever is saying it), all f2p'ers are "younger" and "less-mature"? Making such assumptions is obviously what makes you mature 13 year olds who have parents willing to pay for membership smarter and more mature than all f2pers, including myself who is 19. I applaud you all. =D>

The Effect of the New Updates on the Runescape Economy
Just from a personal viewpoint, alot of my skilling is to make money :D Get starting ores ---> Smelt ---> Sell bars on GE ---> Buy back ores ---> Bank profits ---> Wash and repeat. That said, I don't really do the whole "fish ---> cook ---> sell" thing, so I don't really get involved much with "pkers". XD

AGH! i hate people in rs...
- Ignore function is there for a reason, USE IT - Turn chat off - Build a bridge... And if you really hate everyone in RS, you are more than welcome to leave. Just because a person calls you a "noob", doesn't mean everyone who plays is like that. But well done with the generalization.

This is Not Constructive
More importantly, if you don't like the updates. Don't pay (for members), or don't play at all. Less money will make them rethink...

The Effect of the New Updates on the Runescape Economy
But the thing is, demand will NOT stay steady. As I stated, PKers consume most of the finished products in the economy. Now that they (and thus, the demand) are gone, the demand level will fall far below the supply level (though supply will fall as well, with the loss of macroers). Thus, prices will deflate. "Finished products" are not the main part of said "economy". The majority is with raw materials, that people buy to smelt/smith, to burn/fletch, to craft etc etc. Whilst certain items may deflate in price - cooked food for instance - there are still people who go out and buy the items. If I had the cash, I'd buy cooked lobsters instead of fishing them myself. But I don't. Agree to disagree

What's funny is that in this (locked) thread, you are actually supporting Jagex in regards to the latest updates. Make up your mind.

The Effect of the New Updates on the Runescape Economy
I haven't read some of the responses, because I am in an argumentative mood and will cause a riot :D Look, there is no doubt that with the lack of macro using players in the game, there will be a decrease in the supply of certain items (willows, yews etc). Of course, with the sudden drop in availability of items, whilst demand stays steady, the prices will inflate. I guess this is a move towards the emphasis on skills as well as a move to oust "gold farmers", and real world trading. Whilst there are parts I don't agree with, because it is going to have a massive influence on "The RS Economy", I guess benefits out weigh the negatives.

Idiocy Maybe learn to spell before you go and abuse others for being "idiots". And, it is my opinion that the Grand Exchange update has in fact SUPPORTED skillers! It has meant that I can make a profit on my steel bars that I sell EVEN AFTER buying back ores. Coal is in the vicinity of 50gp (each) less per ore Iron is ~20gp less. And, doesn't it go to say that wood-cutters are benefiting with the jump in prices? That's my opinion. But again, I'd like to point out that maybe before you abuse others for being "idiots", you learn to spell. Or more importantly, use words that actually exist. Who are you to decide who is mature and who isn't? More so, how can you say that you are more mature than others? Using the word "idiot" makes you more mature than someone who uses the word "noob? And, if we want to play the "I'm alot more mature" card, I'm 19. Maturity isn't dependent on age. Whilst there is proof that it increases with age, just because someone is younger, doesn't mean that they are less mature. More important, Runescape is this magical thing called A GAME. game: an amusement or pastime I'm sure everyone acts their age when playing a game. /sarcasm. God forbid people act differently in a gaming situation than in real life. Do you carry a sword around and kill people in your day-to-day life? DIDN'T THINK SO.
