  1. *ahem* You should know that the people in HYT/Esc are not related to this board, we are simply a group of people who coincidentally are in the same chat.
  2. 3/10, I've played lots less than you and I have 4x your cash, this is why my rate is low.
  3. Tele camelot, charter to Oog'log.
  4. Merry chrismahanukwanzakah, no ramadan in december this year. Happy Islamic new year in 4 days, and Happy new year to everyone else.
  5. What is that for?
  6. You argue that you want to prevent deaths. So by what you're going by, why not take away knives, drugs, and cars too? Do I need to bring up the statistics about how many people die from those compared to guns? Guns are designed with the3 sole intent to kill, cars are designed for transport, knives are a practical tool for cutting things (like your food) and drugs are designed either to a)cure disease b)alleviate pain or c)to bring pleasure via their abuse. There is a massive difference, comparing them is a strawman argument. edit - we really need a strawman smilie... Illegal drugs don't always feel good, drugs are used to feed an addiction when used abusively.
  7. Before 8 or so weeks an embryo isn't sentient, when a women is before the date before the fetus develops conscious thought the baby is simply a tumor. Save Jeff.
  8. Just give them the wine instead, Montresor. As for the "perfect" murder, that would be one where you lack means, oppurtunity, and motive.. You'd have to remove all of those, quite tricky.
  9. That study compares vegetarians to "people who eat lots of meat." Other studies have suggested that the mortality rates of moderate meat- and/or fish- eaters is not significantly different from vegetarians. The following study, for example, suggests that fish eaters (0.82) and occasional meat-eaters (0.84) show lower mortality rates than vegetarians (0.94) after confounding factors have been accounted for. Mortality in vegetarians and nonvegetarians: detailed findings from a collaborative analysis of 5 prospective studies That other study I linked to found similar conclusions; Hence I mentioned the significant health benefits and protein sources gained from fish. People who occassionally eat meat also have a much lower mortality rate than pure-vegetarians or people who *only* eat meat. [1] Gonna chime in again here, meat with skin is generally unhealthy, this means chicken wings, breasts, drumsticks, etc. If you have a skinless version it is healthier, however, ideally one should really only eat lean meats.
  10. I'm not so sure I'd trust you as my surgeon. =D> You got the double meaning of what I said, 3 internets to you.
  11. My sister is 6'0 and benches like 140lbs, she is a vegetarian despite what I say  .
  12. Whoops, nice catch, lol. Stupid hands, you've betrayed me again!
  13. You'll be fine, trust me, the staff you may have reached may be suffering from a medical condition that can prove fatal, incompetence. Surgeons very rarely operate on the wrong limb.
  14. Nothing else to add - I don't care about peoples' eating habits. It's lucky he isn't a vet :? ... It was probably just a typo or something. Not a typo, you see when you buy the meat from your local store it has been treated and it is safer to eat, when you cook it this kills 99.99% of all bacteria/worms, yes laura, some do get in but there are simple procedures that can be used to eliminate certain varieties of worms. So unless you run up to a pig and take a bite out of it, or eat unprocessed meat, there really is nothing to be afraid of. Thanks for pulling a quote off another thread where someone decided to eat glass.
  15. Well, you're a furry, so your oppinion doesn't matter and no one gives a [cabbage] about you :P 38 years is the max he could get and he WON'T get it. People get way less for murder. Stupid idiots take hacking too seriously. Murder is usually a life sentence... A life sentence is usually 25 years A life sentence can be 25 years to life, or an indeterminate life sentence. People convicted of murder in the U.S get determinate life sentences, which is life in prison.
  16. It has protein, yes, but that can be gained from other forms of food. Meat also has a lot of fat, which isn't entirely healthy. And then you have to think of the possible consequences, high levels of metals such as mercury and lead, being undercooked, and the off chance of worms. Seriously, if what you mean by brain worms then you are seriously ill informed. Brain worms are only present in certain varieties of pork and the odds of you getting them are about 5 million:1. Unless you eat your pork right off the cow without cooking it, don't worry. There are many different forms of worms that can be present in many types of meat. Yeah, these worms are eliminated due to the health standards in most countries, and brain worms and the other worms are largely the same thing, just have different methods of transportation throughout the body. Health standards or not, its quite common in almost any human. I don't beleive you're correct when you say that all worms are nearly identical; that only their means of transportations differ. You should know that they can cause different symptoms and ailments and effect different areas of the body. They come in many sizes and shapes and lay eggs at varying rates. They're just about as different as any other species. You'll find that the worms that cause the most trouble are worms that try to infiltrate the brain-blood barrier. The species of worm that is the most successfull is the tapeworm. Now, the reason you don't understand why worms are not a threat is that the only way for a worm to infiltrate your brain or other internal organs is for you to swallow the eggs of the worm, this comes from not cooking your pork, if the actual worm is inside you there won't be any consequences that cannot be fixed. A brain worm will cause seizures and will kill you very easily, however since in most countries we eat our pork, we shouldn't worry.

  19. A six pack doesn't get a party started, a keg does. Seriously, unless you have time to work out then don't bother to try and get toned, just do some simple work-outs on your entire body. It isn't best to have strong abs then weak arms, etc.

  21. Lol agreed. I think it's ridiculous how easily some people throw their lives away. Especially someone that young... I think 38 years is excessive but that doesn't mean I have much sympathy for him.. If you hack into the FBI's system they can lock you up forever in solitary confinement, so how the hell is this anything like that? Haven't seen the movie in question, but you're not looking at reality from an objective viewpoint. Everyone wants to benefit from any given situation with any means necessary. Putting highly skilled hackers to do nothing but socialize with organised criminals for years in a federal prison will eventually expose them to extortion or coercion, the information and know-how will be passed on to people outside of prison who will hack for purely financial purposes and cause further harm. It's also not uncommon for companies to hire hackers or ex.convicted hackers for security testing [1] due to their often superior technical knowledge. The FBI has nothing to gain and everything to lose in the form of further financial and strategical losses by dealing excessive prison terms against highly skilled hackers. They are actually pretty often offered a highly paid job either at an antivirus/firewall laboratory or company, or a government agency. Few companies hire burglars so they can observe their techniques to make a compound safer... Because even the lowliest common thugs can succesfully steal a TV set. The amount of people who can bypass NASA-level security can be counted in the dozens at most in the entire country & are very hard to find. Their skill can come pretty handy when the FBI has legal authority to make that hacker either work for them, or sit in a cell if he's convicted. I think you missed a crucial part of what I said. You seem to have ignored the part about solitary confinement, you don't socialize there. The FBI has a lot to gain by jailing hackers who posses state secrets. Also, a hacker's windows and skill is very adaptive, I doubt that if I jail a hacker for let's say 3 years, if he tells someone how he did it I doubt the company in question is just going to leave the holes in their computer system intact.
  22. They just invented this thing, called a library.
  23. Flowers for Algernon is not a book, it's a short story. IT is a good one, however. :) It is both a novel and a short story. The novel makes some slight changes and expands on the short story. It is the same story though. And yes it is very good. Bah, the novel is terrible in my opinion

I think 38 years is excessive but that doesn't mean I have much sympathy for him.. If you hack into the FBI's system they can lock you up forever in solitary confinement, so how the hell is this anything like that? God calm down  I think what we BOTH meant was that something like an 18 year old hacking into a school system probably deserved more like 5 years tops. Potentially getting 38 years for that seems extreme so we compared it to a more extreme example. Obviously I know the consequences could be a lot worse than 38 years for hacking into the FBI systems. I would disagree, he attempted to cheat the other kids by doing absolutely no work yet getting into a great college. He deserves to suffer for his crimes, which adds up to 38 years. Now, after the prosecution decides to lessen the load on that it will probably end up being about 15 years, which I think is fair. Merry Christmas, have fun in jail Omar. As for the people comparing this to the genocide, the UN war crimes... He was the brother of the president, the UN crimes board isn't really going to push for a decision that might anger the country.
