Listen to these people about Computer Repair. It's a profitable skill you have there, don't waste it.

This is a tough topic. On the one hand, schools would be much, MUCH safer. But knowing someone has a gun in the room can make you nervous, thus making ti harder to learn. You can have one or another, but not both. My solution to this problem? Tasers. Non-lethal, but they do their part :D

I see the problem now. I wasn't raised to use computers, just to play the games :lol: Everything I know about modding and all that stuff I had to learn through great hassle.

It seems like a few people misunderstood me. I'm not saying computers are too complicated to use, but what I'm saying is that all these different programs and compatibility issues are a constant problem. For example, I posted a thread earlier in Tech and Computers. All I wanted to do was download videos. I was given a program to do this (courtesy of Mlbfan :mrgreen: ) But then, I find that I need a different flash player. Mlbfan supplied that too, and now I can watch youtube vids without youtube. But this was useless if I couldn't get the clips into an editing program. The type of file youtube uses can't be added to these programs, but the youtube downloader has an option to convert. But wait, the program needed to convert is missing! It just seems that every little detail is a headache.

Like many of you here, I LOVE computers. Without computers, alot of modern technology wouldn't be possible. But over the last few days, I've been installing and using programs with much frustration. The topic of this thread is, have computers gotten too complicated? It seems that every little thing is a headache. Say you want to be able to do something on your computer. But you can't do it. You need to download another program for that to work. So you download that program. But for this program to work, you need to download another. After repeating this 5 or 6 times, you get a message saying that the last program you downloaded doesn't work on your operating system. Let's say, Vista, the destroyer of all programs. So you switch to XP. But now, you find that the third program you downloaded isn't compatible with XP. If you understand what I'm talking about, discuss.

Hmm, will this work for Gamevee? Also, where will I be able to find the file after I download? EDIT - Also, how do I get these clips into Windows Movie Maker, because it says I don't have the required codec. Unless you can get me a link to that codec. The help you've already given is much appreciated.

I'm trying to download flash videos from the web, straight to my computer. Unfortunately, I have no way of doing this. I have something on my computer, Orbit, that seems to be able to do that but I'm not sure how it works. Please, can someone tell me how to get it working? Or better yet, a different, newer program that you can walk me through?

I was at the G.E., and a noob level 7 walked up to me and said can I have 100 GP I've never had that much before. I gave him 3k, and naturally, he was ecstatic. He thanked me and left. We made a show out of Saddam's execution because he was a tyrant. Thoguht I don't know why WE executed him, I think it would have been more ironic if we turned him over to the Iraqui government.
