What would I need to upgrade Ely to Divine? Hypothetical question, but if edibles crashed, (Or was it only easter), then won't semi-rares become even more valuable, such as onyx gem/ring.

Problem with bandos/arma is that although they may rise, with only 80m, you won't make a lot off them. Probably better with a high volume item.

You really don't know much about computers, do you? Unless they can guess your password, they can't hack your account without first infecting your computer. (Unless you tell someone IRL, or use your RS password as a forum password and they get it there.) They can't just magically pull your pass out of their arse, although that is where you pull your info.

What would it take to upgrade ely to divine?

I feel like I would have to still choose the chaotic shield. It depends what you do, of course, but magic defence is still only important in a few situations. How do you guys think the chaotic (or any of those shields for that matter) would compare to divine? Since I have divine, my first priority once I am able to purchase chaotic items will be a weapon. Probably longsword or rapier; not sure. My second item (and one that seems to be overlooked) will be the chaotic crossbow. A crossbow better than rune would be amazing. Just imagine it at armadyl or something... I actually think the chaotic shields are comparable to divine. Sure, the damage reduction is significantly less, but the prayer drain on divine is also pretty significant. I just like the idea of reducing damage without having to consume something in my inventory. If you have all 3 shields, you can alternate which shield which you want in which scenario. Using the most relevant shield in each scenario, I'd say the net benefit is better than that of an elysian. Ely's stats arent as amazing as these (basically arcane + spectral + super dfs with damage reduction) Melee defense rarely matters in PvM (barrows is like the only boss where melee defense is that releveant), and I doubt you're going to be able to use it in dangerous PvP (too much risk). I can see it being very useful for safe PvP maging, though. Only other application of melee defense is slayer, but no need to get such an expensive shield just for that. BS. The prayer drain on the divine is low enough that it is more cost efficient to use the divine w/ prayer pots then to heal with sharks. Not to mention the fact that for what a divine is used for, and the types of people who have a divine, the few extra 10-k an hour is honestly, negligible.

This isn't merely directed at you, but if you're still at judging people on a random account's levels, I wonder if you have the brain capacity to even know what you're talking about. If you wish to claim the value of an item does not depend on what it's used for, it is beyond me how you maxed combat without learning anything. Each of the weapons named have their pros and cons. In my situation SGS works best for many situations. Several maxed or near-to-maxed friends of mine this also is the case. Experience is what counts, and if you choose to dismiss people's experience on arrogance, I wonder what I've been doing acknowleding the likes of you. Maybe because we've tested them far more then you? DER? Ya see, blade did the math and showed why sgs is essentially not worth it. Lotsa people call those who know what they are talking about "arrogant". Its the easiest path. Don't disprove them, just call them names.

If you can't upgrade your computer then common sense will tell you that you won't be able to keep up with the latest games, not to mention ALL MMOs have their system requirements go up every few years. I was able to build my own computer to play the latest games on maximum settings, for $600. Building a computer to play runescape would cost a pittance in comparison. If we stifled innovation and progress every time someone was left out, whether it be by choice or not, then we would still be on dial-up because not everywhere has broadband/dsl/cable, playing our text-based games because "not everyone has a super compooter" and eating garbage because "not everyone has enough money for fresh fruits and vegetables." It's like when the US announced it would be joining much of the rest of the world by switching to digital broadcast instead of analog, and thousands of people went nuts because they had to spend ten bucks (The boxes are 50, but everyone got a $40 voucher) on a converter box. What a bunch of crybabies. It seems to me you are whining about someone whining. I have a feeling that if those games changed their specifications and rendered your $600 worthless, you might be slightly frustrated with them. On the other note, if we tried to controll innovation and invention, we would end up with price controls, and government run corporations, and windfall taxes, and other such nonsense. You see, your argument is flawed. Omali said that his computer could run any game at max settings. That would imply that any change to prevent his computer's running games at all would prevent anyone else, or else a great deal of others. You see, game designers and creators don't make games which no one is able to buy. They do upgrade what they have and require, but they don't make unplayable games.

The key to corp is to get faster kills, not last longer. Bandos > Karils. Unless your in a team where you can barely get a kill a trip. And if you have to eat because every mage attack is hitting you, you are killing slower then the +6 strength is helping your team. Unless you have OVS, and are brewing, in which case you don't lose an attack turn.

+4 in stews is A LOT rarer than +3. You can expect a +3 every few drink, but +4 is very uncommon. I tried stewing to ext range pots at 88 herblore, and I barely ever got a +4 boost. Once you get it, however, you can log out and constantly make some, but I have a bank pin... WTF have you been smoking? +4 is 1/10... And even with pin, I can make 1.5 invies before it drops one level, of normal x pots. OVS you make fewer, so its even faster. Exactly... 1/10 is rare. I suppose you only need to get it once, though. I could still make a ton more with 93 herblore (well, obviously), with a lot less trouble. I guess I'm saying this because I have no issues with blowing a crap load of money on herblore anyway (going for 99), so doesn't apply to most people. Edit: It's also almost 4/20... So there 10% is not rare dude.

Ely reduces damage taken by 17.5%. Chaotic only reduce damage that would hit over 200 by 20%. So ely is still better. Not to mention it doesn't degrade, has +3 prayer, and no negative offense. however, it has less defense.
