Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
No, the better choice is a Rapier so you can actually get those stats up to 99/99/99, unless of course you'd like to train with a slower DPS weapon then your whip? Now when I calculate the DPS with my equipment ... you are actually right ... the Whip > CLS at dps (Slayer Helm, Fury, Defender, Dragon boots, Barrow Gloves, and Ferry ring) Yeah, the CLS is too slow to outperform the good ol' whip! ;) The only place a CLS outperforms a whip is at skeletal wyverns, dragons, and boss-tier monsters.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
Answer: marginally if at all. So in other words, the CR outperforms the CLS even when the CLS has a defender, neit, and BCP, while the CR has an obby shield, karil's top, and verac's helm, and this is at bandos. Rapier > CLS at bandos, end of story. If it's your God given calling in life to kill Skeletal wyverns', then sure, get yourself a CLS!

Rapier or longsword?
Wow, I'm literally in the EXACT same boat as you... lol. Anyways, the chaotic weapons really last over 15-20 hours of combat, because you're not fighting something 100% of the time during the 10 hours. Also, the CLS is very accurate, not in-accurate. Rapier is definitely better for frosts. It's debatable weather or not CLS or CR is better for bandos, I've heard both sides, and since CR > CLS everywhere else... Even if the CLS is better than CR at bandos, It's still better than anything we've had before, and better everywhere else. Rapier<3

Dungeoneering
Just logged onto 77, what in the hell does 47+4 mean? >.<
-
Dungeoneering
Truth be told I've never keyed, is there anything that makes a good keyer... good?
-
Dungeoneering
I just got done with a dungeon, 136/137/138 only, 2k+ total only, 70+ dungeon only, and it took us almost 2 hours to complete floor 33, for 49.5k exp. I'm sorry, hell no, [bleep] that. Also, I ALWAYS make my own team, always 130+ and 2k+ total, so I tried something even more "elite" and it took LONGER.

Dungeoneering
Well I'm in the same boat, obviously. It's just too damn stressful to deal with all these little kids >.< I just don't know if it's faster/slower to do it by yourself or with friends/small team, mixing and matching, etc etc... I'd be willing to duo with you sometime, though?

Dungeoneering
I'm training my dungeoneering to 85, and I want to know the fastest method possible. Everyone says 1-29/30 should be 1:5 small rushes/1:2 small rushes, or 1:1 small rushes, I'm okay with this, it works fine, it's fast, it's easy. But now I'm on floor 30/31, and I try to make a 5:5 large rush, and lets be honest, these always take over an hour, and you usually get between 30 and 50k exp. Would it be faster to solo medium or solo small or even 1:2/1:5 the medium/small to get faster exp/hour? 80+ dungeoneer's tell me that making a 5:5 large rush is the best way to go, but people don't rush, even with ssh, they stand there waiting for someone else to go into the next room. They hoard drops, stand around, refuse to cooperate, etc, etc. I don't think I've ever gotten more than 50k exp for a large dungeon, and I don't think I've ever finished a large dungeon in under 50 minutes. You can't possibly tell me that 5:5 large rushes in w 117 are the best possible idea, people are lazy. So, like I said, I'm wondering, is there is a different option to faster exp?

it means if ur 99 strength, 99 attack and your attack bonus and strength bonus are about equal and if you're hitting less than 50% of the time on your target. THEN a +1 attack equipment bonus increase will help you equally as much as a +1 strength equipment bonus as opposed to usually, when a +1 attack bonus < +1 strength bonus Ah...do you have a proof of this? And is there a situation in which it's relevant? Re-read his post. :wall:

Steel's vs. Abby demon's < New question on last post >
Battle robe tanking with uni: 280 x 1.30 = 364 / 2 = 182 average hit, or 9 spells to kill an Abbysal. You save 50% of your runes with SoL + Brobes, so you'd only be using 4.5 casts worth of runes each kill (5, 4, 5, 4, 5, etc, etc.) 932 x 4.5 = 4,194gp + lets give the Abbysals the benefit of the doubt and say they each hit 280 damage on you, that's 2 scrolls, or another 700gp. This brings the total cost of killing each Abbysal to 4,894gp. Now remember each Abbysal is worth a minimum of 6,842, assuming your whip drop rate is average. You're making 1,948gp per Abbysal on whips alone. MUCH better than tanking, however, the kills will be somewhere between 12 and 21% slower, and it requires 88 summoning and a battle robe set, which aren't easy to obtain.

Steel's vs. Abby demon's < New question on last post >
Yes, certainly. It's not much but it's magic. Just to back this up with numbers. Assuming I'd use a Wolpertinger, and always kept my mage level at 99-102 and I use a SoL + ASN, and using Fire surge: 280 x 1.42 = 397 max hit. Hits are random, so lets assume an average hit of 198. Abbysal demons have 1500 LP, and with an average hit of 198, it would take an average of 8 spells per Abbysal. East cast costs 932gp, that's 7,456gp per Abbysal demon. Now lets assume a drop rate of 1/475 for whips, and a sell price of 3,250k per whip (It's slowly but surely dropping.) This means each Abbysal demon is worth 6,842gp. You loose 614gp every kill, but this is assuming their only drop is a whip. I'm not going to take the time to calculate how much gp you gain per Abbysal through other drops worth picking up. However, I assume that the alchable rune drops alone add up to more than 614gp per kill, not to mention the pure ess and gems, and if you put a dollar amount on crimsons, I'm almost positive that you at least break even maging Abbysal demons. As far as gear goes: Tank. 0 or higher mage bonus and you'll hit nearly every time. Saving 50% of your runes with Battle robes at the loss of 12% or more damage and using a uni to tank might profit more, it might loose more. But basically: Does the cost of uni scrolls outweigh the saved money of using 4 runes worth of spells to kill each Abbysal. From memory I think that's something like using 8/9 uni scrolls per Abbysal to make it cost more than using a Wolpertinger and tank gear. But I'm not doing those calculations tonight, I'll do them tomorrow, but in conclusion: I think using Battle robes saves you a LOT of money, at the cost of speed. Plus you have to repair the robes every 6 hours of combat.

grimy you forgot, c) your fighting an opponent that is hy/tribridding don't ever underestimate an extra 6 def in mage range and melee Wouldn't an onyx (i) be better than a berserker (i) if you're using a CR? Not unless your opponent has extremely high defence. I have a rapier and both rings, and I find myself using berserker on everything but miths and corp (when I use z spear instead of rapier anyways) Well I'd use mine mainly for slayer and bandos solo, I have no problem getting the 1.6m tokkul I need for the ring. I'm just wondering if it's worth the 16m or whatever a fury/onyx costs. As in, should I take the cash, or should I use the ring for soloing. Same concept as f cape vs ardy cape at bandos, is the loss of strength and defense worth the accuracy bonus?

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
I know I'll be less effective at a lot more places. But the question is, is it really that significant? 5k/h is a made-up number. Does anyone have proof that it is that high, or even higher, and many boss locations? Because from observations and what people have been saying, I really don't think it is. I'm a CR fan, 100%. But I agree with Zaaps1 here. The difference between the two is so small that it will almost never make a difference. People should just choose whichever look you like best, epic fencer of amazement, or big-ass-bad-ass sword. Foil fencing plz<3

Bone Crusher
I heard somewhere that from 1-99 slayer it nets you 300-400k prayer exp? That saves you maybe 7m in the endless months it takes to get 99 slayer. NOT worth it.

[DevBlog] Bonus XP Weekend: Second Helping
It doesn't make make sense, actually. You're supposed to get tokens based on 10% of your exp, in this case, you'll be getting 1/27, 1/25.5, 1/24, etc etc. I realize it's double 'EXP' weekend, but you get your tokens based on a percentage of you're exp regardless.

[DevBlog] Bonus XP Weekend: Second Helping
There ya go! :P I think that's BS, since you get your tokens based on how much exp you get. We should still get 1/10 tokens/exp.

Help with street prices, junk, etc
Same here. I keep looking on the forums trying to find an actual cash value, but all people are doing is offering other treasure trail items, and I can't figure out their value either. The whole street market thing is very confusing to an outsider who hasn't used junk before  I don't know about you but what I'm probably going to end up doing is watching the GE charts and just dumping it on there when it gets to a price that I like. Or I may take a visit to world 2, but I have a feeling it will be even more confusing than the forums. I've always found world 2 to be very useful for finding out the price of items, and getting good deals ;) Good luck. And I'm pretty sure a fury kit is worth well over 150m street, along with God bows, I'd trade the fury kit for a Zammy/Sara god bow. Sara god bow is like the sgs of range, except it gives hp equal to 2x the damage you do, not 1/2. Zammy does 2x damage, great for pvp. I'd personally take the Sara bow. :P

Skill vs combat
Combat = bosses. TDs, Bandos, DKs, Sara, Armadyl are the "best" money making methods in game atm. The whip drop rate is generally accepted as 1/450, It doesn't change, ever, this also doesn't mean you will get a whip every 450th kill, it means that every time you kill an Abbysal demon you have a .00222...% chance of getting a whip. Frost dragons are well over 2m gp/hour, and that is guaranteed. Barrows is also 1m gp/hour. I don't know of any skill that can make more than 1m/hour, and still be somewhat entertaining.

Brew:Restore
You hardly need more food than Uni/Fruit bat with 3 people, you should be just fine with a fruit bat. :) But if you insist on bringing more than a few brews, it's 3:1. Oh, and good luck! ;)
