  1. Not exactly, but close. The items have capital letters to begin. H.a.m. hood H.a.m. shirt H.a.m. robe H.a.m. gloves H.a.m. boots H.a.m. cloak H.a.m. logo I had all of them in my bank, so this is a "confirm" of sorts...
  2. You cut an evil tree down. Various stages of reward (from 1% to 100%) give you longer time of magical banking, varying also with type of tree you cut down. See Tip.It's guide on Evil Trees for an idea of how it works. Evil Tree
  3. The weird part is...I'm chopping right now to use up evil tree magical banking ability and i got one...but i missed it because i wasn't paying attention...but i was looking at the screen and chatting! there's one zammy bird in RS that will never hatch because of my carelessness...sigh...
  4. I'm not sure. I don't have music on...only both sound effects. Occassionally you'll hear chirping, hooting, weird bird noises...those obviously aren't it. The birds nest is a louder version of the chirping. It's purposefully louder because of the drop...I think it's like a triple chirp....once you hear it once, you'll know exactly what to listen for. make sure you're wearing a strung rabbit foot to increase your chances of drops, but don't expect many...one time, just once, I got two from the same tree, seconds apart...all the rest, it's mostly as a surprise, when I'm not even wearing the foot, but making farming runs...
  5. yes, a weird chirpy sound that's louder than the usual chirps from the birds in forests. IMO, it's not distinctive enough to be noticeable if you're not really paying attention.
  6. I received not one, but two Snapdragon seeds as drops today, which means I'm going to be able to control when I complete the While Guthix Sleeps quest. I've already enriched and planted one of the seeds on the roof of the White Knight's castle in Falador and planted the other in My Arm's patch on the Troll Stronghold roof (two seeds, two different roots...huh). I'm not sure when I'll attempt to complete the quest, but I can say with absolute certainty that it will be a big day...my first achievement cape, even if it's not one that works toward trimming with a skill proper. I'll make sure it's a special day. In the meantime, my non-skill training will still focus on balancing my combat skills with Slayer tasks. Today's Penguin Hide & Seek round earned me enough experience to level up four different skills. Runecrafting hit 64, Farming hit 84, Cooking went to 81, and Agility reached 71. I leveled Fishing without using points to 76 (Sharks without Fishing potions or pies). The Circus was uneventful, but the experience is always appreciated. The only unusual event happened to be my first ever chopping of an Evil Edler Tree. [hide=Chopping bad wood][/hide] The rewards were less than stellar and I "ruined" 30 minutes of magical banking by missing the birds nests that dropped out of the tree. The experience was fantastic, however, both figuratively and actually. The people were all nice and I was able to gain 65k experience without a morphic tool. Next week, Penguin points will go toward Farming to finish off that goal. I'll then work toward getting Prayer up to 75 or Construction to 69...or Crafting to 80...or one of the many other skills that need work.
  7. After four or five days of visiting Bork, I finally got a Femur for the Odd Old Man's second wish list. I promptly set about cleaning it in vinegar and presented it to him and battled his newest creation. It wasn't tough at all. In fact, the Phoenix Lair is still the most difficult of the daily or weekly minigames for me to attempt. I haven't successfully completed it after the quest despite reading several (ineffective) guides on the subject. I should be able to do it, according to some of the combat levels I've seen suggested, but I get hammered every single time. Bringing along a Spirit wolf didn't seem to help (I couldn't get the 'Howl' to work to scare away any NPCs). I'm most upset because I'm missing out on some better than average rewards...experience that I can actually use. The problem seems to be that I'm not actually motivated enough to work out a way to do it on my own. The rewards aren't lucrative (like Barrows) and the task isn't easy enough (Jade Vine or Bork) to commit my time. I never realized how little 85 Dragon bones would matter toward my Prayer skill. I feel the same way about creating Steel bars and making Molten glass. Neither Prayer, nor Smithing, nor Crafting saw level advances. I did gain in Construction just a few hours before the Jagex update to the skill, but it shouldn't really affect my game play, other than providing me a place to keep an animal. I'll probably committ to capturing some animals in order to populate my otherwise empty POH. I would think that after completing my latest task (Bloodvelds) that I'll either revisit the Barrows or try killing another 50 Vyrewatch. Fishing, Cooking, and Agility will all probably see some minor training and inconsequential level advances, even before Penguin Hide & Seek and the Circus. I also may try and track down some Evil Trees and Shooting Stars. I suppose I could also check my task list and see if something is within reach! Thanks. Slayer seems impossible to train effectively after hitting 70. I can only assume that people cannon their way through some of the tasks in order to get so high! For months, I trained Slayer and ONLY Slayer (well, I suppose combat skills got a work out...and I never neglect Farming runs...okay, I suppose I trained other things, too!). As far as Fur 'n' Seek, we'll see if the weekly completion rewards keep me coming back. Thanks!
  8. That's the great thing about this forum...I don't have to go looking through the KB. I can post on the first day and ask to see if someone already has done the looking, since I use this site far more often.
  9. depends (imo) what you bring and who is your tunnel if it's a verac, guthan, or torag tunnel, probably 15 minutes
  10. i believe is 10 pets per menagerie and my guess would be 1 menagerie per house but i have no proof of that i would guess the feeder is magicaly refilled ~~~legoman187~~~ I appreciate the speculation, but does anyone have any confirmation?
  11. How many pets can fit in each room? (I'm trying to figure out if I can now go around and hunt for pets that I haven't got). Also, do you need to re-stock the feeder or is it "magically restored" somehow?
  12. Is that personal experience or from a guide? Thanks for the input, I'll try that if I can't find a more in-depth guide.
  13. Or you could use the magical "request assistance" feature. ;) Not many people have that 75 crafting ability in members. It had been discussed. It's ridiculous to try and find people when you need them with the volume of rings you'll probably use.
  14. What might be nice is if you fight it the first time, never fight it again, and get a permanent tele to the Odd Old Man . Of course if that is the case and people do start doing that, JaGeX will probably nerf it and make it so you can only tele once a week -.-, but yeah that's really the only use I can see coming from it. I thought I read somewhere that the teleport is only good once, then you have to recharge it through the battle with the Skeletal Horror. Whether you actually have to win, I don't know.
  15. Yes...don't buy experience, but I'd say get the helm creation first, then rings creation, then block tasks if you have to while picking up the final creation ability (broad bolts and arrows) and then after you've blocked all the tasks you hate, then start cashing in with Slayer dary runes.
  16. (Forgive me if this has been posted in some form or another already...I did a quick search and didn't see anything on it, so I assumed it went missed in the Future Updates subforum of the RSOF; Quick find code: 16-17-305-59400729) It looks like it will be similar in function (maybe not form) to Tip.It's newsletter.
  17. Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like a good guide, though I haven't completely read it yet...only skimmed to make sure it was relevant.
  18. Personally, I don't understand why people put all these non-game related things in their signatures. If they want to talk about it somewhere else in the forums, great...but all this junk in people's signatures (what color are you? "WHO CARES!" last five songs listened to? "WHO CARES") I realize when it comes to those things that I'm either in the minority or a silent majority on the subject, but I'm just tired of all the complaints about something so ancillary and unnecessary that doing away with all of it keeps sounding better and better. While no one would suggest listening to music should be against the rules, clearly there is some code involved in taking those song names from the other site or from the person's computer...so I would say this: Until the code is fixed that takes that language or censors that word out of the box, then they're not permitted. If the person wants to listen to whatever the heck they want, that's fine with me. I shouldn't have to read it or even see it if I don't want to. If I go LOOKING for it, that's different. Perhaps mandatory hide tags for signatures of that type or something if someone isn't going to write code that censors if for sensitive eyes/websites. It's not even a freedom of speech thing...I feel like if someone is going to make a big deal about their signature including something that has nothing to do with the game, then they've got a problem with accepting rules...rules they've already agreed to. If they use that signature, they should realize that it is THEIR burden to make sure it doesn't contain foul language...there's attach a signature check boxes below this post I'm writing now. If you're listening to music with foul language in the title, then it's your responsibility, because you chose to add that widget. You don't get to bring a dog to a party and let it off the leash then say it's not your fault they're running amok.
  19. I already read that guide. I'm looking for something else...which is why I'm posting here. I appreciate the thought in case it was something I missed...but I didn't miss that.
  20. Does anyone have a good guide for making it through the Phoenix Lair caves? I know what I have to do, where I need to go, and how to beat the Phoenix (I have decent combat stats), but it was a disaster. One guide I read mentioned bringing along the spirit wolf familiar to use Howl and get the guardians out of my way (blocking the bottlenecks)...I couldn't seem to get that to work. I feel like I should be able to complete that thing...
  21. There are a bunch of Emote enhancers. I think those are mentioned in the Treasure Trails guide, but perhaps a mention could be made for those items that aren't found through clue scrolls...
  22. I've gone back to Slaying almost full-time now. I still do my usual Farming runs and trips to my kingdom to manage it, but I've replaced monster killing of a non-purposeful nature (like killing random dragons, Ghostly warriors, Fire Giants, Aviansies, etc.) with exercises designed to increase my Slayer skill level. I'm making daily visits to kill the Jade Vine and Bork (a dual task until I receive a Femur from him). I've not tried going back to face the Phoenix since a day or so after the quest. I was a little too weak back then to attempt going through all of the caverns. I think I could last now at combat level 111. Penguin Hide & Seek points went toward Construction and (of all skills) Fishing this week. I boosted my Ranged skill to level 82 with visits to the Circus and some bolt max hit testing for Tip.It. I haven't taken part in many other Distractions and Diversions lately. No Evil Trees since reaching level 85 Woodcutting. No Shooting Stars...just because. I did get a couple of Clue scrolls, but I didn't receive anything I haven't received before (a bunch of "cash creators": rune weaponry, magic bows, rune armour, black dragonhide, and Zamorak dragonhide chaps). My 160th task is Iron Dragons. Had it been Steel, I'd have pulled the trigger on a permanent ban. Since it was the weaker guys, I thought I'd give it a try. 75 Irons...that's a little bit more than I'd like to see in the future. In fact, if I get Bronze or Steel in the future, I'll start the perma-ban list...and Irons will be on it, too.
  23. 70 Prayer allows you Piety, assuming you already have finished "Knight Waves" in Camelot...Piety is a great Slayer prayer. It's also good to have as much Prayer as possible on tasks. As a previous poster mentioned, make sure you have a mounted glory accessible right off your entrance, a chapel, and if possible, two portal rooms nearby (they really don't have to be that close, but I'd put them north and south of the hall room where the glory is mounted. Other than that, nothing is really THAT important, though having a costume room not far is good for switching gear sets for any special items you might want to wear...perhaps a kitchen for topping off your HP before going back out.
