  1. Taken from 16-17-671-59680498 RSOF post 4. Thanks! Seems like it's less likely now that it has something to do with magic and more that it's just an update...maybe having to do with something that's often spelled incorrectly or is purposefully spelled wrong.
  2. Is there a French Twitter hint to cross reference?
  3. I will dance merrily around said stake in the ground and sing songs of agreement....
  4. Hello again! Tip.It's user submission guide Just in case...
  5. I beat the Leprechaun Champion. It wasn't very hard, of course. [hide=Scroll me...][/hide] I managed to get back to Slayer tasks and gained a level in Magic, though it's not terribly useful on the regular spellbook. The Slayer tasks did provide me with a few Treasure Trail clues, one of which was wonderfully lucrative. [hide=Not one, but two unique rewards!][/hide] I'll be interested to see if there is a new quest in the near future. As it stands, I'm not terribly interested in continuing play without some great new gear or something to make the level grinding more bearable. I'll still play, but it's probably only because I'm still paying!
  6. First, you must upload it to a file share site. The one I use is imageshack and until recently, I shared access to a free account with a friend. It costs no money, whatsoever. There, you have to upload a photo, then by viewing the photo on the site you should be able to find code...an address or link which will direct a website to that image. Here on the new forums, there is a button called "Insert image" that you need to click, then copying and pasting that code (address link) there will get you the image on this site. As a courtesy, it might be nice to include "hide tags" on the picture, like so: [hide="your text here"][img=http://"yourimagehere"][/hide] The hide is so that pictures that are extremely large don't HAVE to be viewed, but upon a simple click can be loaded up. "your text here" can be changed to anything you want, but I use it as a caption. "yourimagehere" is the actual address to the link you get after uploading your image to a file sharing site. I know there are other places to use and other places on this site to find information, but I hope that helps you.
  7. I haven't been that active, but I have been gaining some inconsequential levels here and there. A few weeks ago, I switched from coal to raw fish as one of the resources to collect from my kingdom of Miscellania. It has produced some clue scrolls and key parts and odds and ends, but today's reward from a clue scroll sitting in my bank was something a little more special than usual. [hide=Useful jewelry][/hide] I continue to collect free items from NPCs and slowly work toward the elite tasks that stare me in the face every time I log on. They're not close enough to get me to grind. Instead, it's business as usual each day until I get tantalizingly close. I'm definitely happier with the small updates that Jagex has introduced that eliminate or lessen some of the frustrating and repetitive tasks players had to go through to gain levels, but I'd rather see a larger and larger game world with new areas every now and then. It's not as if they're fixing all the frustration at once. Instead, it feels like they're just now getting to some of the things that have bothered many players for years. I still don't understand the new blog feature on TIF, but my impression is that this format is much more interesting to read than the twitter-like entries I see. This will be my character's blog home until further notice!
  8. ...or one picture with the quest tab open when you've got the chatbox open to where it asks if you'd like to pay for the trip...maybe?
  9. That is utter fabricated bs. Quest Points add more time that you are allowed in the cave. However for a good year now the time you get in the cave hasnt increased, instead each qp has become worth less time as each new quest is added. It is completely possible to get far more tears than you have QP, especially when you're QP aren't maxed. If you can catch more tears, then you're spending more time in the cave. Quest points are probably worth about 1 game tick (.6 seconds) in the cave, but that's assuming there's one tear per tick. I've never seen or heard anyone get more tears than they have quest points; if you have some proof, please show it. I believe he stated that it's possible (theoretically), not that it happened. Proof wouldn't be applicable in that case.
  10. The second part looks like it would make the beginnings of an excellent player-made guide!
  11. A new diary has been released! As well as giving me new reasons to train dormant skills, it has slightly rejuvenated my interest in playing RuneScape. I'm still not planning on playing as much as I once did, but with new goals comes new interest, so I'll take what I can while it lasts. Interestingly, I completed all the hard tasks first, then the medium tasks, and finally the easy ones. The elite tasks will take quite some time, but that's okay with me. [hide=How are you doin' it? 'Ardougne it' backwards!][/hide] I've managed to gain some innocuous levels here and there, but none in combat and none of them terribly useful. I haven't been happy with the way Tip.It or the TIF look or work, nor have I been terribly interested in the changes Jagex has made to the game. I'm going to have to live with all three, of course. [hide=Only the Elite tasks and rewards are left...] [/hide] I'm going to put points toward Smithing for the forseeable future. It's easily the most costly and difficult skill to train of the ones remaining in the Ardougne Elite Diary. Maybe I'll get back to making runs to the Barrows soon. It's been so long, I've forgotten what set-up I used and will have to look at my notes again. I did buy myself a Dragon chainbody right before the price started to skyrocket, quite by chance. I've managed to tick off a couple of goals, but I end up making new ones anyway.
  12. I had full Summoning points and didn't need to decrease them to use the obelisk.
  13. See here: Crystal Saw - completed
  14. Thanks! It looks like Slayer was never really meant to go well with Magic. I've got Bloodvelds right now and it's just so much easier to melee or range them...that's usually what it came down to for me. "Do I WANT to waste my time maging them?" and the answer was usually, "no, my Magic skill is high enough." After months of training Slayer with melee and range, however, I'm actually stronger in those combat skills than Magic (for the first time in a LONG time). I'll do some more searching, but it looks like it's not really viable...which is a shame, because with the exception of the Barrows, it doesn't really "pay" to use Magic in combat. I'll never be one of those "splash" trainers, either.
  15. that's the whole problem with Tip.It having suggestions like that in guides. prices (especially) change often and what might be good at the time of writing can soon become outdated. I think the Archive of Wisdom is where all suggestions for training or money making tips (beyond the initial ones that go with being a beginner to the game) belong. Give the information (the wheres and whats) in the guides and let users draw their own conclusions or search some great player made guides in the archive of wisdom.
  16. I'd like to train my Magic skill a little on some of my Slayer tasks. It seems I run into monsters with high Magic defense or aren't safe-spottable. I know some dragons are able to be maged, but is there a good list of tasks that are good training for the skill? Any that can be profitable if I already have a load of runes (don't have to buy them)?
  17. The guide didn't seem to mention anything about "saving" the gnome you agree to rescue. I believe you must talk to the head mourner after completing the puzzles in the elven cave, but before completing the quest in Lleyta. It's not necessary to complete the quest, but perhaps it would be something to include in the Tips and Hints (Extras) section at the bottom.
  18. Yes. I completed the quest. I also have used that passage before. I'm in the middle of the Within the Light quest. I teleported out of the area after finding the Elf Messenger's body and getting the Report. I had to go back via the abyss. A few other people have commented that they also don't see the passage any longer. Can anyone see it? Is it inaccessible during the quest only? EDIT: I CAN walk through the passage from the Temple of Light, but then you can't walk back to the Temple from the Underground pass. Has it been made one-way? I walked through it and then walked back when I did the quest. Is it a big deal? The abyss is faster anyway. The pathway was one-way for me. I still cannot walk from the Underground Pass to the Temple of Light. I could before the quest. Now I cannot. I don't know why. Yes, the abyss may be quicker, but what if I don't want the "skulling"? What if I just don't want to use the abyss? If it's available to others, but not me, then it's a glitch. Others were having trouble on the world I was using...and then the world we switched to. I don't know...
  19. Yes. I completed the quest. I also have used that passage before. I'm in the middle of the Within the Light quest. 20. I can't find the crevice entrance in the Underground Pass. I admit, it's been a LONG time since I've been down there in the dwarf camp, but I cannot find it. The place where I thought it would be/should be just says "Cave wall" and can't be mined or anything. Was this method of entrance removed? I can't enter through the Temple of Light, because the beams of light are the wrong way. I can't figure out what's going on.
  21. I think somewhere it lists that method, but I believe it has to be "unlocked" by first exiting that wall from the dragon-side. Perhaps it has been changed, but that's how it used to be.
  22. I believe this "trick" has been done away with, making this thread a little out-of-date.
  23. First and foremost, a long wait for the updated forums leaves me extremely disappointed. Long nights spent researching the forum to read posts and be able to know when new ones came out are now wastes of time since it erased my 'forum memory' and even the old posts showed as already read, I'd have trouble telling which were new posts anyway. Perhaps there is a way to change a setting to get new posts to have shaded text boxes of a different color from old ones, because the slight differences in regular and bold type is not enough to tell at a glance. I'm also not a fan of the smaller 'hides' and really a great number of things. I don't understand the new "blog" tab and how it differs from blogscape. I struggled through my profile and this is all non-RuneScape related stuff that I was hoping would go smoothly since none of the newer updates have been terribly interesting to me. At the moment, I'm training Construction for a few levels to get it from 66 to 70 in order to put in a Gilded Altar. I think that will help with prayer training time, but I'll never completely abandon the Ectofunctus. I have a strange feeling that another great update is in it's future, but that's based on absolutely no real information. Slayer training has resumed and I reached my 200th task last week. It's turning out to really be a slow monotonous grind, even though it's my most oft trained skill (well, combat skills get trained everywhere, but I think that goes without mention). I'm starting to 'miss' a Summon that I can't even call upon yet (Bunyip) with my frequent slaying, and I really should get back to training skills like Mining, Smithing, and Fishing. One of the big accomplishments while the Tip.It Forums have been in transition was my stays in the Burgh de Rott area and the numbers of Vyrewatch that moved into the hereafter. It started out slow. [hide=Combat 114!][/hide] I've got some weekly rewards to work on as well as a ton of Mahogany logs to get turned into planks, but in the meantime, I hope my readers are enjoying their experiences with the new Tip.It Forums and RuneScapes new content! Yeah, I don't play as much as I had in the past. I'm doing exactly what you described and just seeing if they start to care again. I have the feeling they'll dedicate much of their time to MechScape when it comes out and RuneScape will become what RuneScape Classic is becoming. Something that will get an update in only extremely rare situations.
  24. Were there any foreign language hints released? Aren't there usually? I think those have helped decipher the clues in the past...
  25. I'm not feeling the same pull to play the game that I have in recent months. It seems that the updates Jagex is putting into the game are bandages over a gaping wound that new content and patches won't quickly heal. I breezed through the new quest, but the extra content available after playing is available to so few thanks to the ability to use the dwarf cannon and the proximity of the new mine to a bank along with the high frequency of high level rocks. I've gained a level here and there, but training Slayer hasn't produced any real excitement. If something interesting isn't released soon, I may just log in once a week, get my PH&S points and visit the Tears of Guthix and wait until a holiday.
