  1. I'm not feeling the same pull to play the game that I have in recent months. It seems that the updates Jagex is putting into the game are bandages over a gaping wound that new content and patches won't quickly heal. I breezed through the new quest, but the extra content available after playing is available to so few thanks to the ability to use the dwarf cannon and the proximity of the new mine to a bank along with the high frequency of high level rocks. I've gained a level here and there, but training Slayer hasn't produced any real excitement. If something interesting isn't released soon, I may just log in once a week, get my PH&S points and visit the Tears of Guthix and wait until a holiday.

  3. The mining area is north of the bridge separating East and West Keldagrim, but it probably would be best served as an addition to the Keldagrim map and not just the quest page.
  4. The following clue is not listed in the 'Riddles' section of the Treasure Trails guide, but is listed in the 'Search' section only. Crew has been looking for exact wording of the search clues...but technically, this isn't even a straight search clue (from the wording). [hide=Falador crate clue][/hide] The crates are in the ground floor of the building just east of the East Falador bank, as stated in the search clue for Falador crates. BTW, this doesn't deserve it's own post, but... For the clue: "Must be full of railings." - "Search the boxes in the Northwest corner of Captain Lawgof's hut, at the Dwarf Cannon quest start (north of Fishing Guild, in Coal Trucks Mine area)." The boxes are actually just outside the hut...not in the Northwest corner of his hut. So, I might change the wording to: "Search the boxes just outside Captain Lawgof's hut at the Northwest corner, near the Dwarf Cannon quest start (north of the Fishing Guild, south of the Coal Trucks mining area)."
  5. I agree. Just what is the problem with putting something up that doesn't end up working out? It appears that there are only 35 separate posts for the MechScape forums. I know there are a lot of views, but... I don't know. I chalk it up to elitism... Because then you have people complain/rant about why it was taken down. Then, at least, you have some data to back you up, right? People may not be rioting right now, but they're still complaining. Plus, why even take it down? There's nothing new and of vast importance on MechScape...it could be merged with general discussion and probably get more exposure, but why aren't you deleting that subforum? It's okay...we know the answer...

  7. [hide=grammatical correction][/hide] When the corrections have been made, please let me know so I can take down the picture from the server...
  8. next time I'm on, I'll kill a few dozen to confirm EDIT: I was skeptical, but after two dozen kills, I DID receive 12 iron bolts from a Level 5 Highwayman then another 4 a few kills later, then 6 and 7 shortly after and then 3. It looks like 3-12 would be a safe range. I was wearing a Ring of Wealth, if that matters. Drop confirmed
  9. Here's a past post on the Observatory Quest: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=188&t=794577
  10. There are three locations, aren't there? And the church one is located on the first floor (second floor US)...
  11. I re-visited my old haunting grounds southeast of Burgh de Rott this morning and finished off another 50 Vyrewatch. I made some Serum 208, sanctified some olive oil, drenched some magic logs, and cremated some bodies in the Paterdomus Columbarium. Once again, somehow burning stuff in a chapel has made me better with a weapon. [hide=Sometimes it's better not to ask questions of the Gods...][/hide] Strange...and creepy. Once again, I collected the keys and went on a wooden recess unlocking spree. Perhaps I'll have to be completely confident with the Ivandis flail(30) before I start to see real results. I don't know if that's going to happen anytime soon, because it seems like Jagex has changed the way "Protect from..." prayers work. I suppose I'll learn the new timing, but it took me three trips to the Nature grotto's altar to recharge prayer before I managed to kill all the Vyrewatch corpses under Prayer safety. For Vyrewatch 301 through 350, I might just leave Prayer on and see how many I can kill before recharging. The first trip always goes more smoothly because I take a dip in the Oo'glog pools before heading down to Burgh de Rott. Maybe I should bring along the Ancient mace and use the special after recharging prayer...I use the Enhanced Excalibur often, but I could spare one special to boost my prayer by crushing a snail. I think it's one of those things that they tried to fix what wasn't broken. The drop thing has (I think) been removed, which shows they're trying new things, but the drop function should have been a button, not a line of command text in the drop down right-click menu. Perhaps even a warning box could have been included. I don't so much mind the drop feature as the way it was implemented. Thanks for the compliments. I don't make EVERY appointment with Bork or the Jade Vine. The experience rewards definitely aren't that much of a draw. I should be making forays into the Phoenix's lair, but I'm still too chicken. Aw...don't burn logs just 'cause of me! Thanks for the congratulations.
  12. WOW! I know DKers are out there, but you seem prolific at it. Nice going...all-around!
  13. I spent my week's PH&S points on Smithing because of an unfounded and mysterious new fear I have that my Smithing level isn't high enough for new quests that may or may not be released in the near future. Again, I have no idea why this irrational concern has surfaced. I reached 85 Firemaking this morning, but was planning a nice screen shot and accidentally logged out, missing the "level up" screen. I'm done with Firemaking for the time being. I think I'll head back to kill another 50 Vyrewatch, but I may look into the Trouble Brewing minigame to see if I can get in on a quick game and cross another piece of in-game music off my list. As far as the recent updates...I'm equally impressed and annoyed. I've turned off all the features and don't like the look of the banks or the interaction with items in my inventory. Oh well. Thank you for the compliments and the congratulations. I've tried to make this different from any other blog and I decided to write more than the average blogger here. It's just something I decided to do...not a judgement against any others.
  14. I was under the impression that the reason summoned familiars weren't allowed at the GE were graphical and game engine mechanic driven...not for advantage. I could be wrong, since pets are alllowed in, but perhaps they operate under different constraints (and indeed to a certain degree, they do). We're getting off topic, though...
  15. Wow...a staff member with a non-contributing post? It's like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster....
  16. I just said though it won't let you drop the ring. Now unless it can only be dropped in Draynor bank, then it still worked. But i tried it in Shilo Bank and it said i couldn't drop this item. Looks like it's been stopped for all items...oh well.
  17. Hi Mike, what do you mean by a "bunny"? And can you summon 2 bunyips at a time..?? I think he means a bunyip and is referring to "recharging" your summon before your summoning points run out.
  18. Is the Explorer's ring the only thing still duplicatable? Once dropped, how do you get multiples?
  19. A) Is duplicating items (that you could previously only have one of) against the rules? I haven't searched through the RSOF, but it seems iffy, at best. B) Is it still possible? C) How is it/was it done, exactly?
  20. Yes gwasha, i agree with you on the pray melee part.. but i have experimented a bit at AZs and discovered that it is faster for prayers to drain off while praying melee than the Zombies losing agressiveness.. Plus, I usually like to read RS forums and guides while training, so to make more trips up the ladder require my fuller attention (I know.. I'm lazy). Thats why I have been carrying a full invy of lobbies. Normally my lobbies will use up by the 1.5 hours of training. I want to know in the longer run, and based on current popular training areas, is it more useful to have a bunyip or will guthans be sufficient? I know that guthans method cannot be applied everywhere, but I just need to know the general views on these 2 methods. PS: I am also aware that in the longer run, carrying full invy of food for training is not ideal.. Thanks! :) I don't get it...don't you still have to check back if you're not praying in order to make sure you don't get killed? If you prayed, you could time yourself on prayer drain and recharge quickly then go back to whatever you were doing before. I mean, you still have to click on the food, right? If you wanted less involvement, then a bunyip would be worth the summoning training, so you would have to worry even less. That said, hopefully you are indeed at the computer and not AFK training, because well, we all know that's expressly against the rules...
  21. make sure you always have the room when hunting the kyatts...i got the special bone after fifteen or so, but didn't even realize I had it until I had hunted two or so (blended in with the bones you always get along with the fur)
  22. Farming is quite a time consuming skill to train...congrats on the levels.
  23. After the tedious grinding of Runecrafting and Summoning late last week, I set my sights on a goal no less tedious to grind out, but far more useful, in my opinion. I decided it's time to get to 85 Firemaking. That level will allow me to burn kindling beneath the boughs of Evil Elder Trees and use Magic logs to build pyre ships. Adding Evil Elder Trees to my Firemaking training will make reaching the other plateaus for Firemaking (87, 89, 92, 95, and 99) slightly easier. Burning logs is boring work. It doesn't take much skill, but then none of the "skills" really is, except for when it's used to circumvent or incrementally add to my game playing experience. One thing I've decided to try to enjoy is the new pet menagerie function of my POH. I've already placed the Broav (Brovy) inside the pet house and added a Tiny bluefish (Tebow) and a newly grown red Raven (Scritch) today. Eventually, I'll fill the menagerie with pets like cats and dogs and geckos and penguins and crabs and...well, you get the picture. For now, I'm going to grind my way to Level 85 Firemaking, but I will use this week's Penguin Hide & Seek points on something else...Runecrafting, Smithing, Construction, Herblore, Prayer. Though I don't expect any new quests to have level requirements above the ones I currently hold, I do want to make sure that I'm progressing all of my skills in the event that something is released soon that I'd have to wait to complete, especially if completion of the new quest unlocks new content or new training methods. I probably don't have to worry about Woodcutting. At Level 86, it's now the highest skill I sport!
