  1. As I mentioned, your first trip should be short...one each of the super set would be fine and you probably only need one or two doses. Antifire potions...you definitely don't need that many. One , maybe two full vials is probably all you'll use and if you run out of protection before that, then you're dropping stuff you probably shouldn't or something went wrong. You will need more prayer potions, but again, over-prepare for your first trip. I would bring sharks for your first trip, but you'll probably discover that you can get by easily with monkfish or even less if you're set up correctly...that's something that you'll figure out. You'll need a hatchet, but you can get a bronze in Brimhaven if you forget. Definitely bring a one-click teleport in case something goes really wrong. POH tabs are getting cheaper with the new "make-all" option in a recent update...buy a couple for this task.
  2. I'm not sure how it has changed, but I know the directions were right, but confusing when I did this quest. Perhaps this previous discussion could help. You'll have to ignore my deleted images, but pokemama provides the edited versions...
  3. As I mentioned, don't worry about set-ups. Many guides will tell you that you have to bring Ranging potions when Ranging and Super Attack and Super Strength when meleeing...I say it all depends on your levels. If you're killing them and not on a task, then getting the most out of trips might include making quick ones which will mean potions will help...on Slayer tasks (first time trips to dangerous monsters) you just need to worry about surviving. In the melee set-up, the purples are Antifire potions (necessity), the blues are Super Attacks (MAYBE bring one), the whites are Super Strengths (MAYBE bring one). Unless you're burying the Dragon bones (which, at the prices they are at now, would be stupid), you're going to fill up your inventory fast. Don't bother picking up the iron bars. I don't know how much you'll get out of your prayer, but bring more prayer potions and more food than you think you'll need...and as I mentioned, see how your first run goes (watch your adrenaline...stay calm for your first couple of kills) and then see how many you get before you have to bank in order to avoid dropping full potions or food. Go back with a little less and gradually you'll hit that sweet spot and you'll remember that for future runs. Guides here frequently aren't made for first time runs, so just keep that in mind...
  4. I think I'm all "farmed out" after reaching level 85 Farming today. [hide=Cuckoo for Coconuts...][/hide] I can plant any and every seed available in RuneScape without needing a Garden Pie. There's not much left to keep me interested in reaching level 99...especially considering how expensive seeds seem to cost on the Grand Exchange. I'll still train it as the high level seeds come in, but I won't be bothering myself to make runs like I did for two days to get 200k experience. Finising a Slayer task of Blue dragons left me with enough Dragon bones to get to Level 73 Prayer and make a dent in the experience total needed for Level 74. I also was able to get some much needed Crafting and Magic experience out of the Blue dragonhide and earned Level 77 Slayer early into my 180th Slayer task of Kalphites. I even used a Book of Knowledge earned from a Mr. Mordaut's classroom Random Event rather than choose a reward of 3 noted Grimy snapdragon herbs. Incidentally, Mr. Mordaut is the nicest Red Dragon I've ever met (though it is said, "Do not upset this teacher. You have been warned!" when examined in his classroom). Penguin Hide & Seek points all went toward Runecrafting. I'm within striking distance of level 83 in both Magic and Ranged skills and the Circus should help get me closer. My gaming time might drop a little, but I'm going to blame Jagex and their frequent "update week skipping" for that!
  5. I didn't see anything in your topic about your points, but that's not the point... Outfit as you would for any dragon task, but you will need to use Antifire potions, unlike the non-metals. There are tons of guides out there, but I've always felt like I get more out of a task like this if I overprepare the first time and then dial things back as I get more comfortable. If you're going to melee, you'll want to pray melee, use a shield that blocks dragonfire (DFS or ADF), and bring prayer potions and antifire potions, not to mention food. The trick will be to get yourself positioned so that ONLY Iron Dragons are going to fight you in the Brimhaven Dungeon...stay away from Steel Dragons because you might have to run a long way to get one that targets you to lose interest. I like turning off auto-retaliate, too. Again, there are lots of guides out there...including one on this site. I usually ignore the set-up guidelines because the people that write the guides usually have tons of high priced gear and don't realize that not everyone has access to that sort of stuff, especially if they're fighting these things for the first time. The tips are good to know...you can tailor your gear and methods with more and more experience. Here's the Tip.It guide Iron/Steel Dragons
  6. You've got to give the crew time...they see everything. Heck, I'm not crew and I see everything. Patience is a virtue.
  7. [hide=Couple of clue corrections][/hide] [hide=Couple more...][/hide] Just a couple of very minor corrections to clues as typed into the Tip.It guide (for the perfectionists in the crew). I believe it's all punctuation-related. When the corrections have been made (and this is moved to completed WUC), I'll delete the image from the host I'm using.
  8. My RuneScape character has a Twitter account. Well, I have the account, but my character is the one that is using it. I decided to make one for my character, even though in real life I'd NEVER be caught dead "tweeting" or whatever it's called. I felt like doing something creative outside the game in an effort to combat my displeasure with the lack of steady updates in the game. Jagex is really stretching out it's workload. I'd much rather see small updates every single week than have to wait two weeks between updates that only then end up seeming just as small. Thankfully, I still have one quest to work on and it's the most massive one the game has to offer. [hide=Lucien assembles his Undead Heroes...][/hide] Lucien wiped out much of RuneScape's NPC heroes. I survived, but I wasn't finished. I took a trip into the Lumbridge Caves and pumped some Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on iTunes... [hide=Now I'm FREE! FREE FALLIN'!][/hide] I managed to unlock a barrier between a Guthix Temple and the Stone of Jas, but I'm going to pause for a little while before taking any further action. Since melee skills are in need of some training, I decided to fight some skeletons north of Edgeville. Balancing out my combat is still going smoothly, though slowly. [hide=83+83+83=112?][/hide] I feel like my combat skills could use a little bit more pumping up (and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure on which skills I'll use the experience rewards or if I have the bank space for the Dragon metal fragment reward). I did notice that I'm only a few levels away from having every current skill at level 65 or above. Not too shabby...and a nice surprise.
  9. Step 50 needs a space in the middle of "essentialitems" Crew: DONE Step 44 probably should have law rune and death rune moved into the REQUIRED items category and the other suggested/required box removed. I didn't read ahead and I teleported in without them and couldn't do anything and had to teleport back to Fally to get them. I then tried to get them to teleport me back and that wasn't an option. I had to go back the long way...and even though I was wearing the Dagon'hai robes, I got attacked on the whole run to the back room. It was dangerous - and unnecessary had I known that I needed those runes and had no easy way of getting them there (tried searching everything and couldn't find even a hint on how to proceed). Why there are two boxes, I just can't understand. In fact, those two steps are part of the same step as there's no real benefit to doing the first part without being ready to do the second. The section should in fact be merged, but I'm getting into editor-mode there... In Tips & Tricks, you could mention that you can use the strange key halves on a mithril dragon immediately after receiving them...you don't have to wait until after the quest to get access to that smithing room...I'm not 92 smithing, but it's reasonable to assume that you could then smith a dragon platebody before finishing the quest, since i've unlocked the room and got the lava flowing...all you would then need to do would be buy the dragon metal fragments.
  10. I've never "bought" a 99 and don't plan on doing it, but I have stretched my self-control a little bit. I plunked down some hard earned Coins to buy myself a bunch of the rarer types of tree seeds. I didn't go crazy...I bought less than twenty seeds and only yews and palm trees. Once fully grown, I'll be almost all the way to level 85 Farming, which means I would be able grow every plant in RuneScape (at the moment). It will be the first non-melee skill that has nothing but a skillcape left. I gained a Summoning level from Tears of Guthix late in the week, but I'm still 5 away from the gold standard Bunyip summon. I chopped a few Evil Trees down and saw a few in-game friends get skillcapes. I added "Fire cape" to my list of tasks and checked off a song by advancing a few places in While Guthix Sleeps. Slayer is still slow going, but it's been profitable, thanks to some lucrative hauls with a couple of Aberrant spectre tasks. Hopefully, I'll be into the real money makers before long!
  11. I suppose...but could you still agree that it's the user's burden to make sure that everything that is included in their posts adheres to the forum rules? Yes, but that doesn't mean they can't have things not runescape-related in their sigs. My comment about it was an aside...it wasn't the main point...just my opinion on other stuff ("Personally"). They're still responsible...no matter what the type of content.
  12. I suppose...but could you still agree that it's the user's burden to make sure that everything that is included in their posts adheres to the forum rules?
  13. I'm not suggesting to make tars to sell them for profit...gathering the tar in the lunar isle ship and making them is how I got to the 60s....penguin points for the rest of the way to 65. Tars are great for using up terrible herbs. Serum is good for tarromin because you can use it on the townsfolk (why drop?) and get some ingredients back...burn the logs they sometimes give for ashes. There is no magic formula or secret trick...it's hard to get levels for herblore just like anything else and if there was a big seller, everyone would do it and it would cease to be a big seller. Use all the herbs you can in the best way possible....that's all I can see working.
  14. Can't do what?
  15. Yep, that is viable. Was this a recent change? It wasn't always possible...
  16. I was under the impression that staves did not work...that you needed the actual runes. Did that change?
  17. Personally, I don't like bumping because people will (or should) post if they find it interesting enough to post on. Plenty of guides exist already on training herblore, but to more directly answer your question, I think making herb tars got me into the 60s from the low 50s. Is it insanely profitable? No. It's not quick either, but it's reliable, since people usually don't make tons of potions from the lower herbs. I also made tons of super fishing explosives with guam and rubium...the benefit being that those stack...the drawback being they are untradeable/unsellable. I would suggest gathering herbs with a macaw familiar and always making the best potion you can, even if you can't sell them. If you're trying to level without losing lots of money, I'd say pay attention to the GE on potion prices, but if you're gathering the herbs yourself, you won't have as much of a cost problem as you would if you're buying your herbs.
  18. I think it's still a website correction, but it might have actually sorted into the maps & calculators tab of the forum. Still, it will get seen and it will get evaluated and it's so close to all those areas I don't think it's necessarily a big deal if it would be considered for sorting elsewhere. All that's needed is a confirm...and from the KB, I see there is indeed a 15 Thieving requirement listed on the KB page. Animal Magnetism, RuneScape KB
  19. Wow...this must have been a hidden update. I got multiple pieces of each piece when I was doing it a few months ago. I will try and confirm, but if anyone else has already done so, I'm positive the crew will want to know.
  20. I'm in the middle of this quest and have gotten to the part where I'm in the Black Knight's Fortress underground. I've gotten a set of Dagon'hai robes from the wardrobe and a second set of Elite armour that went to Silif. I had heard that when in Falador, I could get a second set of Dagon'hai robes by dropping my set and talking to Thaerisk. Was that ever possible? I'm told when asking about how to disguise myself that I should be able to figure it out for myself, even with the robes dropped. I'd LIKE a second set of everything, but I figure the armour is now a rare drop from Elite Black Knights and the Dagon'hai robes from some dudes in the CTs...if there was a better way, I suppose it would be mentioned...but just checking. (some other sites do say it's possible, but Tip.It is a lot more reliable...not perfect, but definitely reliable...)
  21. A couple of clue notes since they don't deserve separate threads...some small corrections to clues. It's missing a period at the end...that's all. [hide=The beasts to my east...][/hide] British English spelling? [hide=Centre][/hide] For the coordinate clue, 24.56 North 22.28 East: It should instead say weapon that slashes, since I did in fact use an Abyssal whip to break the web.
  22. well, chopping a full inventory of yews might have been your problem... you don't have to chop wood to fill your inventory....since it takes a long time to chop a full inventory of yews, you might have used up your time and not realized it...filling up an inventory with anything is best right away.
  23. Well, here's how it's supposed to work. The second you collect the reward from inside the tree, the clock starts ticking. It's different depending on the things I previously mentioned (percentage of reward you're due for chopping and what type of tree). Say I get 11 minutes of reward. I'll teleport to the camelot bank, deposit my inventory, withdraw a strung rabbit foot (and the seers headband) and a tinderbox and the rest is some type of log. I find the nearest maple tree and start chopping. For 11 minutes, a swirling white magic and a sound will alert me to the fact that a log was magically transported to my bank, assuming a few things. First, you have to have space in your bank. If you don't have the space for the logs you're trying to cut OR a place-holder of the logs already in your bank, you can't magically bank it. Second, you can't chop logs you couldn't normally chop. If you're still not getting magic banking, then you might be trying to do something other than chop. Your inventory can have anything filling up the space. I just choose logs, because I can burn them if I get a random event or a birds nest while chopping with the special banking ability.
  24. Maybe I misunderstood...what is the problem you're having then?
  25. You got the rewards out of the dead trunk? You can't just chop it once. It only lasts for a certain amount of time.
