Elite Clue
The monster with the highest drop rate is the Skeletal Horror, so kill that every week. An elite clue from Bork is VERY rare, but the charms are worth killing him daily if not 99 summoning. Strykewyrms have a decently high drop rate, but as you said they can only be killed on Slayer tasks. Slayer is in itself a good option, letting you kill Dagannoths, Strykewyrms, and metal dragons more quickly. GWD bosses and DKs have an okay drop rate (elite clues are rare in the first place!) but you'll probably make more from the drops than from elite clue loot. This all leaves two options: Mithril Dragons and Tormented Demons. Mithril dragons are easy to camp at and drop clues frequently, though most are level 3. You will get one eventually here; camping here is certainly much better than at iron or steel dragons and you'll make a little money from it with the chance of a big drop. Tormented Demons drop elite clues VERY rarely, but as you can kill Tormented Demons pretty quickly (30/hr with unicorn, 45/hr with Titan), they aren't bad. TDs also have arguably the highest hourly profit in the game (barring some armadyl solo setups) with claw drops fairly frequently at 1/300 or so. You will get blue charms and effigies in abundance as well. In fact, all this considered, TDs are the best monster to kill, even better than Frost Dragons. The catch? It's hard to reach those killrates. Using a 1-spawn spot, most people only get 10-15 kills/hr. You will have to be good at prayer switching and flashing and use the best gear (overloads, chaotic weapons) to get the rates above. Below 88 summoning, other bosses are much better cash because you'll spend a lot of time healing and you'll have to bank frequently for a low killrate.

can i get a high prestinge and play f2p dung?
Confirmed. Any p2p items bound will not show up in your inventory in f2p (not even as members objects) and your prestige is capped at 35. The only thing f2p and p2p share is that a floor done on one will count as done on the other.

Odds of getting banned for this?
You could always ask on RSOF and hope a Jmod gets back to you. If you do get banned then you will have something to point to, otherwise your ban appeal will be denied after a Jmod does a quick (2-3 seconds) scan through of your sob story. The problem with this approach is that you'll never get a response! This is a pretty unclear situation. The way I see it, as long as you are holding it down yourself then you are still initiating an action and should not be penalized for a feature that cannot be turned off. Tough to say how others will view it.

Binding Question
Yeah good point about the Primal Full helm. I only know of one person with it bound though I'm sure there are probably ~10 in the game. However, since the Skeletal Horde boss isn't too common on the large floors most people do, and the drop is so rare and relatively useless, you're best off just taking the picture when you get the drop without binding it. Guardians ward - I'm not quite sure why this is considered a good item to have. Sure, it has decent mage defence, but people generally tend to pray mage anyway. You could start praying range instead but you're still going to get cut up by melee and you are still fairly vulnerable to a high level shade or mage. It does save cash at the start but anti-dragon shields are common enough drops for keyers to use tank class. Am I missing something else?

Binding Question
First bind: Primal battleaxe ~ Promethium 2h > Promethium battleaxe Second bind: Shadow silk hood > Promethium platebody NEVER bind a helmet/platelegs/shield or a weapon that doesn't have at least two styles in aggressive mode. The easiest way to get a plate (which you should do ASAP because it could be a while until a hood drop) is to use dg smith clan chat and find someone willing to smith one for you. Same goes with the 2h. There's really no reason to even consider helm/platelegs/shield except as placeholders until you get your desired items smithed.

Fighter Hats
It's debatable really, +5 stab helps a lot at FFA corp or something but short of that you're better off with the neitiznot helm. It takes 50k to get it back after a death and it evens out the +5 stab with +3 strength and +3 prayer. The only use would be in a situation like FFA corp where doing the most damage possible while taking little is preferable to a sustainable smaller team environment. Other than that, it is about as good as the Helm of Neitiznot when there's no danger involved so I suspect people wear it to look more unique and to validate the BA points used on it.

Boosting for Diary Lamps
I'm pretty sure you can't do this, but can you use a temporary stat boost to use a lamp from a diary that requires a higher level? Ie, need level 90 for a lamp, stew up from 80s - can I now use the lamp or does it depend on your *base* level? Please only post if you've tried it or know otherwise, not looking for speculation. Thanks. EDIT: Thanks Vulxai. One more confirmation and this can be noted as "Answered"

Dungeoneering: Bindery
Primal spears and longswords will not have much of an impact. Spears cannot take advantage of the berserker class while longswords are inferior to battleaxes in direct comparison. The best team would be: Keyer has primal battleaxe + tank 3 people have primal 2h or primal battleaxe (primal 2h should be slightly better considering prom 2h is about equal) + berserker 1 person has hexhunter bow or primal rapier, with appopriate classes, OR another 2h/baxe Attack styles matter in dungeoneering, but not beyond slash and crush. Stab and range are helpful but completely unnecessary for killing mages, lesser demons, etc. Slash does well enough. And honestly - the more defence you have, the faster you go. You don't want to be that guy stuck on 500 lp no food while the rest of your team is killing the boss. People standing around for 5-10 seconds at every food drop is quite annoying and they are losing multiple combat rounds for every enemy. Keyers wiith primal platebody+platelegs, tank class, and mage prayer will need to pick up barely any food. I've retracted my previous statement that using a leatherbody+platelegs with 4 binds would be a good idea. Although you wouldn't have to build an altar, you would need more food (and generally cooking or scrounging for food takes collectively longer than building an altar) and you would lose accuracy. Primal platebody + platelegs would let you key an entire dungeon using mage prayer and the food from the starting table.

Dungeoneering: Bindery
You pretty much do have unlimited prayer. You have 396 prayer points at your disposal in every dungeon (chests/cash drops make altars plentiful), and if you rush properly then you should only need to pray for a couple ticks in each room. I almost never get hit by mage because I rarely don't have a prayer up when running through those rooms (unless I'm praying range, not quite 100 yet). Anyway from my experience you can do the 20-25 minutes of pre-boss dungeoneering within 200 prayer points or less, meaning plenty for the boss. So if I'm not getting hit by mage the entire dungeon, I'd much prefer a platebody. Tyrannoleather body just isn't good enough and there's no need for its strong point anyway.

Dungeoneering: Bindery
Right now primal battleaxe is good because it more or less matches the prom 2h for damage output but allows you to tank while keying at any time you want. With the next batch I expect primal longsword/spear/2h to be bound over the battleaxe based on which ones are released. 2h being the best with spear being second if it isn't released, with longsword for dedicated keyers and potentially better than spear with berserker. Shadow silk hood is without a doubt the second best. It prevents much more damage than a platebody/leatherbody and certainly more than any platelegs. In fact, if you get this drop before 50 dungeoneering, I would just go ahead and bind it because getting 100k experience isn't that hard and you always get a weapon at the beginning of a dungeon anyway, albeit a weaker one. It certainly saves time later because you can go with better teams. I'm one of those people that thinks Blood Necklace is overrated. I've gotten a drop before but no one in my team wanted to bind it over hood or promethium plate, so it was just left in the dungeon. The effect isn't that useful and you lose a massive amount of defence no matter which other item you give up. I could see it being okay for nonkeyers or as a 4th bind only. Hexhunter bow, it's so rare that I would just bind it for the novelty at level 100. I don't think it's worth giving up hood for unless you're level 98-99 and close to the third bind anyway. I'm not sure how good it is because I've never dungeoneered with anyone using it. Obviously if you bind it, bind some t11 p++ arrows as well. As for my third bind, I'd go Primal Platebody > Promethium Platebody > Sagittarian Body. There's a case for binding the leathertop, but I tend to just pray mage and rely on the dual melee-range defence of a metal body. 4th bind, blood necklace or platelegs. At this point it would certainly be possible to unbind primal plate for primal legs and add a sagittarian body, in fact, that's probably more useful than the necklace and could eliminate all prayer dependency. Ammo: depends a lot on the next wave of bosses. Right now it is only required for one boss (Necrolord) while slightly helpful for one other (Runebound Behemoth). As it is, Fractite Arrows bought from the Smuggler do a fine enough job as it is. Now that you can no longer alch arrows, bind law runes. Face it, you're almost never going to use mage in a dungeon, as it saves negligible net time to use it and increases your cash needs in the dungeon, so don't bind blood runes. 125 Law Runes make c1s go significantly faster and also reduce your cash dependency at the beginning to about 1.3k for toolkit and 25-30 essence for cosmics/astrals.

200M in all Skills
We don't really think it's our business, altough you can't really stop people from being fascinated by your incredibly efficient methods or the race for number 1 spot, for example. For most of us, this is actually admirative speculation, and, you're right, it's like betting on an horse race. Except it's much longer, and we are actually on the track too, just unable to match the speed of the leading group. This is kind of the problem. People idolize the top ranks and think that if they're not training the same way they're "doing it wrong" *memespamfestIknow*. In reality there are often multiple training methods with pros and cons to each and what works for one person may not work for another (prime example: Drumgun). I get irritated when people choose training methods not based on calculations or how easily sustainable it is but instead on who else uses the method. The username Zarfot has now become charged - in some cases, calling others noobs for using the fastest training methods, in others, bragging about using a method from an informative Youtube video. (though please, if there's any way to get your text to movie vids back, do it! I always get a kick out of those) Many of the things that you're credited for being lucky with, Zarfot, have led to some pretty nasty attacks. I think a lot of people appreciate your videos but the RS population tends to try copying their way to success instead of evaluating different training methods themselves. There's just no way to easily explain why you switched crafting and herblore methods when there are multiple options for each anyway. And to see your merch guide criticized by your "competition" then widely asked for and hounded - even appearing on any clan forums you join - that's gotta be annoying.

Tip.It Times - 5th September 2010
If I had known attendance was mainly dominated by the higher leveled, more mature, and fun-loving that actually went, I admit I would have showed more interest. I still would not have been able to attend, but I have to say that Jagex did a VERY good job planning the ticket process so that the turnout wouldn't be "noobs." It was a big gamble, but they got away with both the ticket pricing/reduction scheme AND managed to surpass the highest expectations. I think TS Stormrage has every right to write those couple of sentences. Jagex managed to weed out both inexperienced players and players uncomfortable connecting RuneScape with RL. To clarify, I was not there; I for one would be mortified to be seen in the queue even with lots of other people there  They did miss some people who couldn't attend based on location or timing, but the ones that did go were the right ones.

Tip.It Times - 5th September 2010
How is it a recycled topic, when nobody ever considered the idea? Look around you. How many people on RS have a "journey > destination" mentality? If you say this has been brought up many times before, then show me the "many times". I wanna see how many people out there, in the past few years, have considered the same idea. Especially on fan sites, where playing for the sake of fun is highly discouraged/completely ignored/not even thought of in the first place. Sure, I'd be glad to. http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=471 http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=455 http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=443 http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=420 http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=414 Those are another five articles on the same topic written for the Times in the past half year. I don't need to go into "the past few years" or even to other fansites. I don't doubt that you wrote the article using your own opinions and observations. I am merely pointing out that we have this same topic explored once a month, with little new material and few new opinions being presented each time.

Good first article (probably best for the first Times after RuneFest to have a recap like that), old recycled topic for second article, decent DYK

200M in all Skills
21,429.78 hours was mentioned so I just calculated 21,429.78/24 = 892.875 days. You're right, it's 1k+ days for a brand new acc. I think that "over 25000 hours of free play time" refers to F2P having that much "content". Don't know where they pulled that from but it could be accurate, 200m in F2P skills would take a long time considering how much slower some skills are in F2P (rc & prayer for example ) They pull the hours of content numbers from the record number of hours played for f2p and p2p respectively.

Arcane Rift - I think the Dungeoneering exp rate should be nudged down a little bit while Woodcutting and Runecrafting should be nudged up a little bit.

Don't you think they wouldn't make an update if they didn't plan to utilize it to the fullest? Just because they didn't say that "Z-Buffering will be used for <random>!" doesn't mean that it isn't going to be used for future big game updates. All of these seemingly innocuous updates, like this and RuneTek 5 and others, build up to allow them to do bigger and better things over time. Or would you rather they just not tell you about it and leave the week blank anyway? They already had to redo Elite Treasure Trails because it wasn't going to be done in time for certain items' graphics to work. Engine updates are essential but should NOT be tied to pieces of content like this. I agree, it's always worth setting aside time now to allow for awesome things to happen later. I just don't think that it should be touted as a content update. I WOULD prefer the week be left blank - nothing wrong with honesty.

Nah, R&J was lame. Just a boring fetch quest. Agreed. It's funny how everyone assumes that old ( or "classic" ) content is immediately good and worthy of staying in the game. Almost all of the classic content in the game is utter [cabbage] (firemaking ftw right?..). Jagex would be wise to re-do every single old quest. I still don't know why Doric's Quest exists. 5 second turn-in, literally. It exists because, for a person starting out, it provides a decent tutorial to some common mining spots while offering experience, fun, and a little money. Eliminating it suggests that Jagex considers its current pieces of content to be of such higher quality that it no longer fits. However, Jagex has stayed away from creating too many complete beginner quests like this one. Longer quests do NOT provide hours and hours of content - in fact, while a player might take 5 minutes to do Doric's Quest from scratch while following a guide, there is perhaps 20-40 minutes worth of content in an average mid-level quest. The parts of quests that have improved the most are the graphics and audio, not necessarily gameplay. Sure, we're talking about the gameplay-lite quests, but Jagex has not filled the niche with enough new quests to render Doric's Quest obsolete and has not developed to the point where quests offer a significant chunk of gameplay. That particular quest does not get in the way or cause any problems. This can then be expanded to other quests including R&J. Each fills its own niche and Jagex has not filled those holes with anything major over time. They have NOT reached a level of gameplay that renders these quests obsolete. They simply do not have the manpower to rewrite even the simplest quests and I wish they'd stop devoting resources in RS' increasingly complex engine to attempt to do so.

Not being able to alch bound items isn't nearly as bad as it seems. First, it's over with, it was going to happen eventually with arrows being 3k/alch, and now we can plan without that hanging over our heads. Secondly, they upped monster drops for cash by quite a bit, which should actually SAVE time which would have been spent fishing because picking up cashpiles is not more tedious than alching while running/fighting. It's still quite possible to make an altar by opening chests and picking up the bigger cash drops. And third, it gives you a legitimate option between binding laws (makes c1s go faster, reduces cash requirement at start) and arrows (guaranteed ammo for Necrolord + future bosses). Court Cases - only did the first one, awkward to play through and nonexistant rewards, I do not pick up Court Summons, so I will not be playing through any of these either. Bonus XP Weekend - STOP@@@ Elite Diaries - looking forward to these and the potential rewards (which we CANNOT judge until release). Unfortunately, I will not be setting any major new goals based on the levels they gave. I'm hoping very much they involve more than Ardougne Elite Diary (which only had a few simple tasks); otherwise, I will not be impressed by the long wait for what should be a relatively simple programming assignment. F2P Quest - Could it be any harder than the long-feared Blood Pact??! Will we have to fight enemies in caves even more dangerous than God Wars the Lumbridge Catacombs? Z-buffering - I really don't care about graphical glitches and I think less resources should be devoted to the engine unless they have game-changing content in mind already. Gameplay always comes before tweaks like this in my book and it shouldn't be included in a content-based outline.

Are there any bosses that I can solo?
one size does not fit all it's perfectly acceptable to solo tds with unicorn. the person who taught me to td doesn't have 99 summon yet and he's gotten over a dozen claw drops using unicorn. Amount of claw drops has nothing to do with kills/hr rate though. You can throw a ton of time at something but proper planning will result in much greater output in the long term. I don't know how I can say this without pointing out that people using unicorns are routinely crashed at TDs because people with a better setup can farm TDs much more effectively. Sure, you CAN solo with unicorn, and you can get up to about 65-70% of the killrate of a 99 summoner. But that's still a huge price to pay if you want to farm TDs for multiple claw drops. saying proper planning like that makes it seem like all of your time spent on runescape up until the point where you max out is just grinding to the point of being able to do things as efficiently as possible. it looks good on paper, but it'd be very boring. as for being crashed. under ideal circumstances, soloing with the steel titan method performs quite well, but as soon as two or more people at attacking the same demon, its slow attacks make it hard to effectively use the special attack training combat and summoning through slayer is a great idea, and is effective, but that doesn't mean you should hold out on doing anything else relating to combat until you've 'completed' the maxed melees through slayer route Maxed melees and summoning take up a tiny percentage - perhaps 10% - of the time required to max out. Sure, you can go before then, but 96 and 99 summoning are such critical levels at every boss that getting even 96 should be a priority. At TDs, a person with a Steel titan will win any crashing battle over a person without one. The spec really isn't that hard to use and chances are if there's a crashing battle at all one person is lower leveled or not using nearly as good gear. Crashing is generally one of the more negative sides of monsterhunting, and by choosing the right spot (anything but the west side of north rock) you can greatly reduce chances of getting crashed with a unicorn. I don't want to sound like an elitist but (with the exception of GWD/team corp) profits at other bosses are greatly reduced without 96 summoning (DKs, Frost Dragons) or 99 (TDs). Slayer is an enjoyable skill to train and maxing melees or at least getting them all 95+ will help you so much in other aspects of RuneScape that I can't help but advocate training it. At the end I have to take a step back though. You can do whatever you want. Different people play for different reasons and one or two claw drops are easily possible over a month or two with a slow kill/hr rate. However, once you do something it stays done and I think that almost everyone would benefit from putting at least a little effort into training up when the differences at higher levels are so vast.

Dungeoneering to 85
Until you get into the high 70s or even break level 80 you won't really be able to join clan teams. With 80+ dung you will be able to join a lot of "random" teams on worlds other than 117 that have some better people in them. Until you hit that level I would suggest skipping world 117 altogether. You could consider doing the last couple of floors with 117ers because larges are worth so much exp (50-55k+ for floor 35 with 35 prestige, higher past that), but it's definitely not worth doing 10 larges every reset. Also, with 85 attack you are limited to a gorgonite weapon which will not help you get into better teams. I would suggest investing some time in 90 attack if you try to go to dungeoneering clan teams. Also, if you find a Shadow Silk hood while soloing, BIND IT! It's much better than a piece of armour; otherwise, if you can't get a drop, bind your best platebody. As a note...it's harder to find teams for larges under floor 30 and even harder to find them under floor 25. Those are some common cutoff points so try to stay above those to cut down on organization time.

Dungeoneering to 85
You are right, w117 is barely worth the time it takes to play. What I've suggested to my friends is to do dungeons on c1 then do your last 10-15 floors solo mediums. This won't be great exp (maybe 40k/hour over the course of 60-85) but it eliminates the w117 hassle. From 40k exp/hour, going from level 60 to level 85 would take about 75 hours - a couple weeks to a month depending on how much you play. Melee exp is significant but not amazing, from the ratios that generally occur you will get 1-2 levels in your chosen combat skill at that level over that amount of dungeoneering exp.
