I've voiced this opinion before, but [bleep] all languages that aren't strongly typed. For the last 2 weeks and the forseeable future at my new job, I've been writing in Visual Basic which, while it's not dynamically typed, doesn't check types at compile time or something. I don't really understand what it does tbh. I've made so many god damn errors already. Writing unit tests today and copying code between them (Different code, similar looking layout of variable declaration -> Call -> Assert) and then not knowing when I didn't change a type or whatever until I actually reread the code was super duper frustrating. Like [bleep] man, just let me go back to Java, jeez.

Found a pogo trainer at a gym near work named "anatripsis". I've no clue where TIF's Tripsis got her name, but apparently someone else went the same naming route.

I moved into my new apartment on Friday, but I only took down a uhaul, and my parents were supposed to bring me my car on Saturday on their way to a wedding. They didn't leave early enough to drop off the car before the wedding, so now it's been 2 days without any god damn food or shampoo and I'm so upset, I just want my car.

The less expensive apartment has the bedroom at an angle, which looks and feels really awkward, and really messes with how the space feels, even though they each have the same square footage. The kitchen is also more cramped on it, mostly because of the weird bedroom angle. Edit: Oh. I just looked at website pictures, and one of the walls is blue in the more expensive apartment. Thinking about it and who I am as a person, that's probably 80% of the reason I like it more, which is a dumb reason lmao. Okay, gonna do the other one, I think.

Narrowed down between 2 different choices for apartments, and now I can't decide if I want to go with the apartment whose layout I like more, or the apartment which is basically the same but which is $65/mo cheaper. Why is this such a difficult choice lmao

I mean, types still have to be made for literally everything. It's not like dynamic typing is getting around that problem, it's just forcing you as the programmer to keep track of the type manually at every step. It literally only makes conversion easier, and that's a rare thing in comparison to just using variables.

Does the 7th imaginary number (i7) count as having a 7? For that matter, is the 7th imaginary number between 0 and 300? Idk, I don't really understand the complex number plane, esp when all complex numbers are represented with as many real terms as possible, and only ever the first imaginary number.

Caught a 900 CP Golem yesterday while wandering around Omaha, which is not a place with lots of Geodude spawns by any means. Now I have a Geodude (from my trip to the sandhills) and a Golem in my pokedex, but no Graveler. It's actually kind of annoying that 2 of my 3 strongest pokemon are 3rd-stage evolutions that I caught at that stage instead of evolving them. Getting good pokemon honestly feels more like luck than like a concentrated effort to level up and evolve what I've got. It's like evolution is just for xp, not for actually getting battle-ready pokemon. I definitely feel less connected with that Golem than I do with my Venemoth that I raised from a mid-strength Venonat, but the Golem is just as good and I'm going to use him just as much.
