Be honest, don't know enough about backstreet boys to have an opinion, so I just picked the one with an embellished name. Idk if that will skew your poll results but now you can remove that one vote so I guess.

I agree. And thank you for an actual, thoughtful reply. As someone who has experienced both, it's also fair to say that the experience of disassociating because of mental illness vs. being drunk are very different, and the former is pretty much entirely negative, while the latter is neutral if not positive in most of the cases people here are talking about. There's just different contexts behind each which makes the difference.

It'd be interesting to have this conversation about fruits and veggies. Like, fruit here in the Midwest is mostly just have apples, oranges, and grapes, with some seasonal stuff like peaches and pears. Veggies are like broccoli, carrots, lettuce, cabbage, and if you count them, onions and potatoes. There's also the like month and a half where people go crazy for corn on the cob, every damn year. Trucks and trucks of it just sitting on the side of the major roadways, with signs proudly declaring their fresh corn for sale. It's the worst. There's also like canned or frozen stuff, but I'm not really counting those. I've never seen a place to buy peas in pods outside a farmer's market, and even then it's rare. I'm curious what it's like even within other places in the US. I literally can't imagine the corn frenzy going on outside the corn belt, that's just unreal to me.
  4. Visual Studio is my favorite IDE I've used and every time I switch to something else I find myself missing features or at least button shortcuts from it. But I recognize that I'm pretty inexperienced and maybe don't qualify for a super informed opinion, so...

  6. Didn't actually do any work on the assignment from yesterday, just made my group do it. I'm terrible.

You know, I never really thought about this, but was runite ore and subsequent armor/weapons supposed to be magical? Because it was named based off runes, right, which definitely were magical, so that implies that the metal was supposed to be as well. It was not though, in any way, or at least it wasn't when I retired.
  8. Spring break started today and yet I'm still anxiously procrastinating on an assignment that's due today. Godddd, when's it over?

Today I forwent my company's traditional business of mining in favor of buying the "Java Gaming Experts" for approximately $300 million.
  10. Mods. For real. Lock this spam thread.

Because it only matters if you pay tens of thousands of people $100, and none of those tens of thousands of people tell someone that you're doing it or even that you offered. You can get some anonymity with the internet and like bitcoin, but nothing like the anonymity of malware on people's machines. Especially public machines, like those at a public library, where probably lots of people are going to go to vote. I mean, you can get other governments involved in the malware and then it's really trouble. Better hope Estonia doesn't piss another country off enough to pay for malware creation.

I went to Nebraska's Democratic caucus last weekend, and there was an insane number of people my age there. Like, hundreds of them, probably. It's a little biased, because I'm in the district where the college is, so probably a lot of the people who live on campus were registered for that area, but the young voter turnout was pretty good in the district my friend went to a few miles away as well. Though, yes, you're right, it could absolutely be better.
  13. [bleep]ing ban me!
  14. In fairness, I think it'd be possible to get the lead without that these e days, I just don't have the dedication.
  15. Happy 20th, pokemon.

Nebraska is the easy one to find it's the middle. Exactly the middle. Both dimensions.
  17. Like, at this point I def feel like I could recreate LOTPW, and as long as no one also posted in it, the mods would just let it slide, and I don't know how to feel about that.
  18. You know, I don't visit forum games as often as I visit the forums themselves (much unlike the past, when I visited forum games MORE often than the forums as a whole), but I always figure this topic will be locked before I can get back. But it isn't. The mods suck at their job, essentially.

Make it an integral part of a larger fun thing. Most of us probably didn't think the physical mechanics of typing were fun when we were playing RS, but we found the chatting and the game both fun on their own. I didn't find the math fun when I was programming games in middle school, but I really enjoyed the programming and the games, so I learned it and became excited about it over time. I mean, clearly that means you need to tailor things to individual interests, and that's a severe challenge, but if it produces results, surely it's worth it?

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, where the name of the WiFi you're connected to is different than its SSID, and it's a URL instead of like a name? This just suddenly happened today, and I'm worried the campus WiFi was hacked or smth. I looked up the domain, and it looks exactly the same as the website for the cafe. Like, everything was the same except it wasn't just a redirect or anything, the URL stayed as srmllc.com. I'm a little concerned about this. (Picture is what it is because I'm posting from my phone due to not wanting to possibly send I info to a third party)
  21. But hey, I could get two in a row myself.
  22. Honest statement, I can't get more warning points. I revived and posted multiple times in spam threads in Forum Games, no warnings, the threads are still open. Makes me sad :(
  23. I don't really understand why open carry is less legal than concealed carry. Seems like the latter is more dangerous, as you don't know who's got a weapon, and it less serves the "guns keep you safe by intimidating criminals" thing gun owners like to claim.

Can't stand people that insist they failed when they obviously aren't close I mean, let's be fair, sometimes you *are* close and suddenly you aren't. Like, I had a class last semester where I was sitting at between a D and a C from week 1 until week 17, because the teacher was only putting in quiz grades and not returning assignments. Like, up until the last week before finals, I was on the verge of failing, and I was calculating minimum test scores to get a C in the class because of it. Then he put in the assignments, and I went from a C- (minimum to pass) to an A- in 1 day. If I were just like, "Yeah, I about failed that class, but I got an A in the end" it'd sound like that, but I legit did almost fail, or at least spent a lot of time in the "almost failing" column.

Anyone who puts anything besides pizza sauce on a pizza is a heathen and deserves to eat their terrible pizzas for the rest of their life.
