  1. I love how the media and public focus on the violent video game, not the gun in an easily accessible place. Gun violence = ftl Video games = ftw
  2. Go to Radio Shack or Bestbuy (or some place similar) and buy an anti-static wrist strap. You can get one for less than $10 and it could save you from frying very expensive components. And it's a fashion statement  Really though, buying one of those and standing on sheet of metal is overkill. Anyway, the metal wouldn't work unless you're barefoot or wearing really thin socks :P Standing on a sheet of metal probably wouldn't work anyway. I fail to see how a $10 wrist strap that's going to save components is overkill. 90% of the time you will be fine without a wrist strap if you aren't doing something stupid like building on a carpet. The other 10% you probably will fry something. This is speaking from me who's built 100s of computers so I have seen it happen numerous times. 15volts can fry a motherboard, static electricity could be over 5,000 volts if you can see the spark. wrist strap = not overkill anti static mat grounded into a socket for the pc= overkill Well if you don't get one, atleast hold on to the metal part of the case most of the time and don't move your feet to much to create static. It's not just volts that fry things. Why do you think those 5000 volts just sting? The current in static shocks is extremely low. If you: -Hold metal while installing anything important -Wear a cotton shirt -Don't build it on carpet -Wear shoes -And try to discharge all static beforehand (with metal, again) You'll be completely fine.
  3. It's basically a modified version of Javascript.
  4. I didn't realize it was possible to write 3D MMORPGS in JavaScript. -.- Technically, Jagex hasn't. They use Runescript. Ftw.
  5. Do something constructive, like suggesting how to make money, instead of spamming. Money-making while skilling is nice, but usually the best money comes from other things, so make money separately, and skill just for xp.
  6. Whatever you do, don't take raw screen video.. I took a 2 minute clip at 10 fps and found a 90 GB file on my HD >.< But yes, 4GB RAM can make a big difference, and is only a bit more. Get that, and you're good.
  7. XP Vista Try that :P
  8. From what I've heard, some people have found the actual download link, and then you can download it from any browser... I have not tried this, though.

  10. I see what you mean about second life... but why is destroying a battleship in eve a bad thing? Isnt that kind of... the aim of the game? sure you could do things peacefully, but wheres the fun in that? True : But, they basically had a no-life team of over 100 people buying the cheapest possible ships over and over to destroy it. Meh, I don't even play any of these games.
  11. 2 comments. - Wow, Spore, and Sims 3 aren't that graphically intense compared to games like Crysis, GTA4, or Left For Dead. - Yeah Nadril, I don't like Athlons that much either.
  12. I remember Wired did an article on this... http://www.wired.com/gaming/virtualworl ... rentPage=1 They hack Second Life with digusting porn like situations (and kill random people), they're WoW hackers, and they destroyed the first Titan-class battleship ever in EVE Online (Which costs about $10,000 (RL money) worth of in-game resources). ...Basically a bunch of /b/tards. Good article, though.
  13. 7/10 I liked it when it was just the sunrise without the weird ice cold thing... Otherwise, EDIT: NARB!!!@!@!111 you took my 300th page. -.-
  14. Pvpers can't afford to be that balanced. Combat levels are something to be avoided. A person could have 50 attack and defense, and 80 strength at your level. Many pures have 99 strength at less than your combat level. - In short, you'll get obliterated in PvP with those stats.
  15. I completely agree that F2Pers don't deserve anything. I'm one, and I still love Runescape. However, Jagex has no obligation to us. One thing I hate - when people call F2P a demo. It is a way for Jagex to attract customers, but is the way the game started, and will continue on as a fully playable game in itself. Getting membership is just like buying a new expansion pack (albeit one that's 100x bigger than the original game).
  16. It seems that they pretty much just tried to improve on Vista, not redesign an largely different system like they did from XP to Vista. I've got the beta now, and high hopes for the finished product :
  17. From what I've heard, there's a great market for it. It usually can sell instantly at market, and sometimes at max. A good number of players use them for Firemaking.
  18. Nope. You can just get regular ess. :x Yeah though, I would reccomend airs. Nice profit, and can be fun with others/friends. Earths start getting better around 54 ( I think? ) because you can actually get a bit of profit when buying ess.
  19. Better performance. Cheaper. Fun to build. BUY IT!!@!!! : ...Please though, make sure you know what you're doing when you do this build. You don't want to screw it up after 7 pages of posts and help, and close to 1 grand.
  20. Yeah.. and only one of us can keep it.. :? Unfortunatly for you I'm a mod which means that I'm going to interpret it as you trying to impersonate a member of staff = IP ban. Hope you had a good time on Tip.it. Bye. ... Just kidding  Always nice to see a Calvin & Hobbes fan. ;) \ Thanks.
  21. Rushing it's one of the worst things you can do. If you screw that up, Jagex isn't very likely to do you much good. :? :x :(
  22. Bong, we have the same avvy >.< I'd like Colorado. My grandparents live there, and it's wonderful
  23. I don't know how they enforce the password length, but it doesn't work. My pass is over 40 characters. I tried typing just the first 20 to see if that worked, but it didn't. :
  24. Wasn't sure whether Tech&Computers, here, or off-topic would be best. The link you gave worked great. On my own time, I found about 20 broken mirrors, and nothing related to that  . Thanks, and sorry. I'll get this locked.
