  1. on page 18 toward the bottom I explain that I don't use the abyss to Runecraft ;) but if I did, yes I would take that just to be safe. It's not worth the trouble trying to recover lost pouches
  2. True, but there are much better ways to train magic as slow as this is for xp, even if you don't consider how much faster it is to make them with the balloon.
  3. Every time Jagex makes quests where players get into fights that are harder than they anticipate and in result die and lose items, they get massive rants and spam and complaints about it, despite how crystal clear they make the warnings. Considering this is a fight without prayer as an option even, I think by making a level requirement that it will greatly minimize this kind of complaint. Now just to deal with all the people who think they can actually manage it below 85 combat...
  4. lol... 1: No big surprise that Trojann was early on the ball with misusing the spell for personal gain. 2: Arguing over Nerfed or Fixed is pretty nerdy lol... let it be both and you can make it one word... you just got Nixed
  5. While I agree that the spell is a big flop, I don't entirely agree with the superheating comment, unless specifically meant for iron. For rune and maybe even addy, it's not worth the time to smelt at a furnace when you could superheat several times faster. This new spell is undoubtedly worthless to anybody with the stats to complete this quest. If you can complete this quest, then you can CERTAINLY complete Enlightened Journey, in which case you can CERTAINLY use duel rings and go from castle wars to the balloon, then to the Sawmill in a flash. This balloon method is not only MUCH faster, but with the rune costs and remaining GP costs, the difference in plank-making costs is too minimal to even consider using this spell for anything other than a quickie plank. Even if you're cutting your own logs, the Sawmill is packed with oak and normal trees for basic planks. If the spell did every plank in the inventory, even with the GP costs remaining, it might be an ok method, but as is, this is just plain pointless.
  6. Not bad at all! Short and sweet guide, but I'm more the type to take things to kill the PKers instead of run... but that takes more time :P
  7. yes did the quest this morning and was QUITE disappointed! (new it was too good to be true anyway). Not only does the spell still use about 70% of the normal GP for making planks, but you also use a nature + 2 astrals to make ONE plank... just not worth it :( With that high a rune cost for just one plank, I don't even understand why they even still charge GP...
  8. i think it's a great update, especially for people with easily confused names or people who try to lie about their stats... not to mention seeing pures' stats BEFORE you fight them!
  9. what was the last cape that came out before the cape? lol I've been doing every quest upon release (usually before there's a guide, or if it's out before I can get on, then I use the items list) for at least the last year or so. It makes it a lot easier to just get 'em all done and stay caught up
  10. sorry for the absence. hard to level when you don't make it home ;)
  11. just reading the first post really, but your presentation is really poorly thought out imo. Jagex presents us with tasks to complete IF we want to all the time... any time there's a new way to raise a skill, any time a quest comes out, any time there are new resources to gather or monsters to kill. The diary is really no different than a quest, and just like any quest, you decide for yourself whether or not you want to do it, which also requires you decide whether or not you want to do the prerequisite quests. Jagex has always given benefits to players who enjoy all aspects of the game opposed to simply focusing on one, and this is just another example of that. If you don't want to do it then don't, and miss out on the benefits. It's your own choice how you play the game, and refusal to do the diary isn't ever gonna be viewed any more of a boycott than players who don't do quests, who only train combat, or level 3 pures.
