what to do when i get my 1st mil?
From what I have read in other posts Yews appear to be on the up again. Buy at about 5gp less than middle price then sell at about 10 - 15 gp above middle price. This will help keep the price rising for you. It should be bought and sold in approx 12 hours ie 6 hours for each trade. Beware you can lose money if prices drop but as long as you learn from any such disasters you will eventually gain every day.

Grand Exchange price updates
They update at random times depending on the volume of trades. This may happen several times a day for the popular items and never if an item is not selling at all. Be careful if you have a trade in progress at the time of the update as you will probably need to return to the GE and re price your deal but this seems to be more relevant if you are trading in extremely high volumes.

Best things to high alch?
Consider several things when levelling mage. Cost and time taken are the main factors and boredom can be considered but I consider most methods of mage training to be as boring as each other. You require 369028 xp to raise from 63 - 70 High level alchemy costs one nature rune each time and gains 65 xp Therefore the cost in runes alone if we assume 270 for nature is 1.5 million. The time if we assume 1000 alchs per hour is approx 6 hours. Splash cursing mage ie using one body,2 water and 3 earth will cost 75 gp per cast based on 15gp per water and earth and free bodies (these are so often not even picked up by other players). At 31 xp per cast the cost is 892k and will take 17 hours at 35k per hour. At your level I believe that money is more of a problem so the second option might be better. However the best solution of all is to use every spell that is available to you ie do some enchant jewellery, firestrikes, high alch. splash curse, superheat etc. This will ensure minimum cost and least boredom

Should JAGeX explain the game?
Sorry but just for a second I thought I must have posted this subject in the " One line of words is enough please do not explain" forum!!! In what way do tips and guides and calculators decrease the experience? If you do not want them do not read or use but 99.9% of players use them as useful tools. It is in their use of these tools that show whether you can play smart or dumb. My discussion is whether JAGeX should let us know the rules to increase most players skill and decision making.

Beaten by lower level miners !!!
Captainkidd that is the most ridiculous suggestion yet. However I have noticed this too I think....... But it cannot work like that can it?

Should JAGeX explain the game?
I notice that there are many debates regarding how transparent JAGeX should conduct their business and I see many others about whether updates should be f2p, released soon, amended etc but what most of these debates lack is fact. Unless I am mistaken no one apart from JAGeX understand the mechanics of how skills work. ie if two players of unequal wc level cut a yew how many logs does each get on average ? The same for mining Which gets the ore and why?. If there are 10 people fishing at one spot should half of us move ? etc etc So does anyone know? Should JAGeX explain so we can make informed choices and therefore reduce frustration. Or is it none of my damned business? Personally it would increase the pleasure I get from the game because I like statistical analysis and would enjoy calculating when and how I should do any particular skill. It would also add the one factor that is missing from the game ie skill and experience = a better player. Would anyone play any other game without knowing the rules?

Beaten by lower level miners !!!
I have read a few theories as to how the mining system works regarding who gets the ore. My mining level (99) should allow me to beat all other players apart from other 99ers usually. I would expect to lose a certain ratio as it is a statistic based game. However when mining addy I appear to lose a high percentage. I also know that connection or internet speed is relevant as I have been beaten everytime on occasions by some lower level players particularly when powermining iron in dwarven mine. So does anyone have the inside track on this? I do not need anymore theories but actual facts would be handy!!

what to do when i get my 1st mil?
Agreed. Woodcutting yews is fantastic way to make money in f2p. But I now burn mine because I am making enough from GE because I did not spend my initial stake money.

what to do when i get my 1st mil?
It has always been very difficult to make money in f2p. However with the Grand Exchange it is now possible to make a 10% increase in investment per full 24 hours. If you manage to get one million then invest it wisely until you have enough cash to be able to start spending without touching your daily profit. I will not say how you should invest or in what because I am mean but trust me it works if you are smart. I have buried 6000 big bones since GE which was impossible before and yet I have not spent any of my initial investment.

way too much
I was fighting ice giants last night with my 115 + account. All my combat stats are even. A level 72 then made the statement "No offence mate, but you hit really low for your level" I replied "LOL Im not offended its only a game!" As we all know the individual hits are random but statistically my hits average will be higher as my combat increases. Had this player managed to unlock the secret to Runescape and hit higher than anyone else? No !!! He showed an unfortunate lack of understanding of the game. Dont ever be offended by any one elses comments regarding the game because they are just showing deep ignorance, stupidity or immaturity.

Air running
I have decided to split this comment into three parts. Firstly regarding whether or not one should do runecrafting the conventional way ie run back and fro to air altar (earth altar is actually a few steps closer and you get a few more xp per trip) or whether one should find as many short cuts as possible is an entirely personal question. I prefer the smarter way and as it does cost money to do the smarter methods it cannot be seen as a free lunch. I would also dispute your figures regarding xp gained. Each run to air altar with full load is worth just about 150 xp so assuming approx 3 mins per run ie 20 runs per hour this equates to 3k xp per hour. This 3k xp gain is based on 100% commitment, no randoms no chat and no connection lost. This is therefore exaggerated. At a rate of 3k per hour it would take 1083 days at 4 hours per day. No one on this planet could do that. However I guess if you can get to level 77 then you would be able to use the assist method so this is the level I am going for. This is about 1.5 mill xp which is attainable. Secondly I had not considered the possibility that the 9 x assisters whose runecrafting levels were not even in the hi scores would give extra airs and that is because they do not. No trade is made on the assist system so no airs can be given. I saw no conversations that suggested that these scammers were giving airs after he assist but I did see many players shouting that they had been scammed by so and so player. Even if these kind good hearted players were doing as you suggest the trade limit would not allow them to do more than about 3 trades every 15 minutes. JAGeX are more than welcome to black mark me for false reporting but it has not happened yet but I already see a significant reduction in this type of scammer. It is the responsibility of every player to report all scammers and this means that some players will be accused unfairly. JAGeX will need to make sure that their investigative methods are good enough not mine. Thirdly I tried a slightly different technique for air running that gave me about 9k xp per hour( compared to a max of 25k per hour before update). In my inventory I kept 5 law runes, 5 water runes, 200k gp ,several thousand noted essence and then filled with unnoted essence (24). I wear an air tiara. Now I travel to air altar and craft the 24 unnoted runes. I next shout open 1k and 25 essence. When someone offers to trade I drop the laws and waters which leaves me the usual 25 spaces. I then trade in the normal way. I craft the new unnoted essence and pick up the dropped runes and repeat the process 3 times ( ie upto the 3 k trade limit) Now I teleport back to Fally. Obviously I cannot do this every trip but I do repeat whenver the trading limits allow. Obviously if you can get runners to trade at 500 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 800 per time then this method would be better but I am not sure how quickly you would get offers.

Smithing levelling
Before GE I used to buy steel bars at 550 each to level up smithing. This is a serious money drain and actually I stopped when steel bars reached 600gp because I thought that was too expensive. I tried to buy iron bars but these appeared hard to come by in the sort of quantities I needed. Now with the GE I assume iron bars are easy to get for approx 200 and steel bars are back to 550. So which should I buy for smithing or should I buy addy or mith bars? I have at present a smith level of 90 and have 53k steel bars but obviously I could sell these and convert to another type of bar. I also do not want to use up all my money as I need to have alot to trade efficiently in the GE. Discuss or advise please!!!!!!!

RWT isn't dead.
Hi, I have read the entire post but appear to have missed the actual way that through bounty hunter so many millions can be transferred. Can someone enlighten me? RWT is mortally wounded!! If a managing director is telling you business is great then this must be like the chairman of a football club giving the manager full backing.( A sacking generally follows within a week )

99 mining...
I agree with kemikalkadet. I have 99 mining and found the real way to achieve was to vary methods. I did not power mine until level 92 because I wanted the smithing level. When I did I powermined iron in desert and mined the two addy ores when they spawned. I continued until I had a full load of addy. So it appears that really you do need to raise your smithing in order to keep your interest from waning. 35k xp per hour is what I used to get in desert with iron but I also used kemikalkadet method in dwarven mine. One other place I regularly used was Lumby swamp. I would do some water runes for runecraft then either collect mith and addy ores or superheat ores to bars. Not particularly fast but something a little different

Air crafting bots?
Thats an idea. Apart from buying body talismans is there a good method for getting them as I wouldnt mind mining the silver and crafting the tiaras as my crafting needs improvement as does my smithing so it is body talismen that are the problem

Air crafting bots?
I am well aware of what we f2p can do ( I have one 99, 1 97 3 95s and about 8 other skills in 90s) but I am only 66 runecrafting and need 77 to get to a level that can be used in world 16. 1 mill xp is what I need and so I will not bother until I have 99 in all other skills. You could get 25k xp per hour in old system now it is down to 1 - 2 k if running yourself. I am certain that bots will return because f2p cannot and will not fill in the gaps.

Air crafting bots?
Does anyone know whether there were such animals as runecrafting bots? Obviously I am not interested in getting one so I do not need too much information. I just need to know whether they have ever existed. The reason I ask is that as with my last few posts I am concerned that runecrafting has become too difficult to level in f2p worlds and how likely it is that the better runecrafters that now exist may have used bots or that the recent changes have encouraged the use of bots in this field.

Air running
Hi all, Last night I tried the assist system to increase my runecraft xp in world 16. I have a level of 66 which means that I make 7 airs per essence. I will start by explaining how air running worked before the 3k limit per 15 minutes unbalanced trade was introduced. Air running was a process by which a character (generally fairly new and low levelled) would run to and from the East bank in Falador to the air altar just south of Falador main walls in world 16. They would bring an air tiara or talisman and very light clothing and in their inventory would carry 25 essence. In the air altars were stood the air crafters. These tended to be highish to high level characters . In their inventory they would carry many thousands of noted essence and hundreds of thousands of gp. The runner would enter the air altar and see which crafters were ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åopen̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

The oldest rl player?
I have a step daughter who has a child so I am a sorta Grandfather. The wife hates computer games, playstations, gameboys etc so no chance of getting her hooked.

things to use curse spell on
Yes full rune without an ammy works just fine (obviously do not wield any type of staff either). Personally I use it in ice caves as it means I can alternate between melee and splashing so less boring. I also can use it when too many people are on so I splash mage until it quietens down and finally I use it when my health is low and it allows it to rebuild without food. I am f2p so this may not be relevant to your situation.

The oldest rl player?
My runescape character is 110 + combat and I am 45 years old. Am I the oldest high level character ? I think in his interview Syzygy mentioned he was 44. I hope that there are plenty as I will then be able to point out the replies to my wife and maybe quieten her down for a while.

Air running. Does it still work?
I have just achieved level 66 rc. This gives me 7 airs per essence. Does the assist method work in world 16 ? I am pure f2p
