  1. Nice guide. I think we would all accept the fact that getting the tokens takes too long for this method to work better than running earths and teleporting. However you should mention the importance of the Lumbridge/Explorer ring in giving extra runes and xp (20xp per air run and 6 ish air runes). Personally I now do Fally Teleport and then cabbage port back as the quickest way to and fro from air altar. I get 45 runs per hour ie about 7200 xp.
  2. I play runescape far too much and I am a parent of 3 kids (15,10 and 7). I would just make a few points here:- 1. Runescape does not teach you anything about life in general. In fact I think it gives people a poor impression as to how people are in real life. 2. Runescape does teach some useful skills. However these skills would be better learnt in a more beneficial way ie an English lesson or a typewriting course etc. 3. I would much rather my kids played outside with mates and do some real interaction. 4. I do not mind them playing the computer or playstation etc but it must come after schoolwork and chores. 5. I know how to disable my computer should they not follow any rules I impose.(Removing the ethernet connection is my favourite). 6. Playing games will not give you an interest in computing as a career. Studying computing at school with an enthusiatic teacher might. 7. Mobile phones are worse than home computers. This is what most parents miss. 8. No one on this site has ever done better at school by playing runescape but many appear to have done considerably worse. 9. The original poster got his wish. No one flamed his parents. This happened because the people that responded have good manners and probably parents that also care and not because they learnt lessons from Runescape. (The way to get round all parents is easy. Give them something they want and they will return the favour. Well it works better on the Mother than the Father.
  3. I may be way off track here but I thought that I had read that the new 70+ armour was only to be won in the new pking worlds and would only be allowed to be worn in them.
  4. I am level 81 prayer pure f2p. It is fairly useless but if you want high combat then it must be done. I definitely do not recommend buying bones unless you have millions to burn. However I got my levels up in two ways. Collect my own feathers and collect my own iron arrows. So I killed chickens and minotaurs and buried bones by the thousand. Not particularly fantastic but it is always good for a change.
  5. I am f2p. My first 99 was mining. I never really set out to get it first but I think it was the competitive element that really got me. I hated losing out to other better skilled miners so trained harder. It also helps that rune moning is a nice little earner in f2p. Another factor was that it gave me good reason to train combat, particularly def. (No pkers were going to beat me too easily - Though they did get me a couple of times!!)
  6. Bangs head in frustration - You are absolutely correct and I have edited my post to reflect this. I actually used my air tabs last night and teported to Varrock and went to West Bank but now realise I was wrong.
  7. Earth Tiaras are the best way by far. You can get 13 - 14k xp per hour if you teleport back to Varrock after crafting and you do not need to spend anytime playing FOG. You state that money is no problem so do it this way!!! The only feasible alternative is making Body Tiaras which is as quick but you do not get to train mage at same time. Mauranius has written a guide on this I suggest you read. (Sorry I have no idea how to post a link). For your information crafting earth runes with gloves gives about 12k xp per hour but you also have to factor in the time spent playing FOG.
  8. I have 95 fish and have never seen any difference in the numbers of Tuna caught against the numbers of swordfish. In addition the swordfish gloves only give double xp for each swordfish caught. They do not increase your chances of catching a swordfish. The same rule applies to trout and salmon.
  9. I have approx 50k tiaras (body and earth) in bank now. I will sell to general store at some point. GE is a good friend!!
  10. I played 3 games as green. I was logged out during first game, won the second, and lost the third. Personally I will not be playing again in a hurry. I suspect that the next plan for most players will be to organise their own teams of experienced players with high rc levels so that when they compete they can nearly guarantee a win. (Anyone need a level 89 rcer?)
  11. Money is no object. I have plenty but this topic is about fastest xp. I really need help on the rates of xp during the game and also whether I have estimated the tokens correctly and game time. In fact what I would do is craft body tiaras and teleport back to Varrock then teletab to body altar with 12 talismen, 12 tiaras, laws, fires, teletabs and wield an air staff. Edit - Magicmagicy pointed out correctly that it would be better to teleport to Falador and walk to the West bank.
  12. I do not like the minigame but I would do anything to increase the xp rate for runecrafting in f2p. The teletabs are therefore of considerable interest to me. However I have been doing a bit of arithmetic and cannot see whether there is value in them or not. Firstly I have based my calculations on the following premises:- 1. When runecrafting earths and using Varrock teleport to return from altar the average time per complete run (Including sprinting whenever available) is 1 min and 45 secs ( This figure is very accurate). 2. The total tokens won in one hour is equal to half of the amount available to win. ie I am expecting over time that everyone will win and lose at an equal rate. This premise is based on the fact that unless people go in as teams then you can never guarantee a win. 3. The time for a single game is 15 minutes. This includes getting to Wizards tower and waiting for game to start. 4. You win 375 tokens per game (see premise 2) ie 4 x 375 = 1500 per hour 5. 1500 tokens = 50 earth teletabs In one hour crafting earth tiaras in F2P you make approx 13k xp. However if you use teletabs each run is approx 35 seconds faster so you would get 19.5k xp per hour using your 50 teletabs. This means that in two hours of tiara crafting without teletabs you get 26k xp and in two hours of getting tabs and crafting you only get 19.5k xp. Even if you add on the extra xp you get crafting runes during the game at 500 xp per game = 2k you still end up losing. Please help and let me know the flaws in this argument!! Please criticize constructively and correct any assumptions I have made.
  13. Hi Pulli, Presumably you are basing your comments on what you have just done in game? Does the 300k xp per hour apply to both f2p and p2p?
  14. Just a couple of things extra you might like to try. a) If there is someone else in the guild then you can mine silver ore until you are out of step with them. ie while you bank they mine and when you return to mine they are on way to bank. You can use the silver to up your own crafting level. B) Wear an air tiara and either craft your own runes or use world 16 and get 9 x assist on your way down to guild. c) Bring some laws and waters with you and you can teleport back to Fally.
  15. There are two posts here that state that the Americans never bombed Germany. That is ridiculous. The Americans tended to bomb Germany during day time raids and lost an awful lot of airman and planes. The British preferred night time. The expression "Over paid, over sexed and over here" referred to American pilots in UK. Do you not remember James Garner in " The Great Escape" ? So even without studying any history this should be a clue. On topic: At least they understood the German you spoke even if they cannot understand the blind prejudice that they spew!! Just a couple of little facts. USAF dropped 1.4 million tons of bombs into Germany (This included the infamous Dresden bombing). USAF lost nearly 19000 planes over Germany. 79265 US airmen were killed over Germany. Source Wikipedia.
  16. Just a little rant. There are only a few skills that allow conversation fairly readily. Two of these are fishing and woodcutting. However I am not a touch typist and need to look at the keyboard whilst making conversation. There is nothing so annoying for me as to answer a question or say a few words and look up at the screen and see " Your inventory is too full to hold any more items". My message has to be re typed again by which time the person asking for raws or whatever has gone. Last night a character asked for free food. I wrote " I am dropping raw trout. Do you want these as you can cook in Barbarian village?" Inevitably I looked up and the entire (not even the first Capital L) message had been wasted and the character had left.
  17. Just a storm in a teacup. What 10 year old in the real world really has the patience to spend hours grinding to gain levels? The thing about kids is that they need instant gratification. Runescape is too far from what the average 10 year old wants.
  18. I would be absolutely amazed if JAGeX did not watch this site and other similar ones. Free players cannot contribute to RSOF so this type of site is the only place the company can find many valid opinions and suggestions. In addition because there is more freedom on this type of site there is also more honesty. Presumably it would be part of marketing and sales job to keep abreast of the news.
  19. Delighted to see an Irish world!!! I just hope the Irish players dont start speaking in Gaelic since although I live in Ireland I am actually English.
  20. Thanks for quick answer. However this leads to more questions! Obviously the explorer ring is something all players should have regardless of experience. Are the other changes made to the tutorial and lumby guide etc worth doing for more experienced players.
  21. Hi all, Whilst assisting in air altar yesterday I noticed that on many occasions (but not all I was getting more than 140 xp per assist ie 155 or even 160. Obviously this should be impossible as 140 is max (28 x 5) so what is happening? By the way if the person you are assisting is wearing runecrafting gloves then the assister gets two times xp so it is not related to this. Regards
  22. Just a couple of small things. 1. Earth tiara crafting speed is better if teleporting back to Varrock. 2. I think fire rune crafting is much slower tham you have stated. It might be fast for p2p but the duel arena bank is still a long way from altar for f2p. I only tried this once and quickly abandoned it. Otherwise very nice indeed!! btw-Why no mention of liars in air altar?
  23. I am also f2p pure and for one reason mainly. There is a possibility of completing the game in a satisfactory way as f2p but not in p2p. When I have 99s in all non member skills I can retire happily ( 6 months - 1 years time). However in p2p Iwould never reach that stage because JAGeX will keep on adding content. Upthebanner is not my runescape characters name and only two people on this forum know my identity. So I guess I am not proud but I do believe it is a considerable achievement to get 99s in f2p.
  24. The game and its rewards are lame. The only reason to play for most players is to get the tokens in order to get the rewards. Games have to be won or lost by these people quickly otherwise the rewards become even lamer. Therefore they do not want hiders or runners. I agree that they should not whine but then I also think they should not play at all. I now never play. (I never moaned either but it is incredibly frustrating to have to spend 15 minutes getting 12 tokens or 15 minutes getting no tokens).
  25. For as long as the wife lets me  I do seriously play excessively unhealthy hours but do intend to retire when I max out on all f2p skills apart from prayer (only 80 now and I hope to finish in 6 months so no chance). This is one of the reasons I would hate p2p. There appears to be no real end to the game because they keep introducing new skills and quests. I actually do not understand why the top ranked f2p do not stop when they max out because as a hobby its not the most interesting one to pick. But each to his or her own.
