  1. If it was Welsh a) Leeks would be a weapon of choice B) Mining would be the only old skill allowed c) Singing would become a new skill d) All players would be required to have a pet dragon e) Combat would include the use of sidesteps and dummy runs f) All players would be short with hairy legs ( and thats just the women) g) Drinking "Brains" would temporarily increase your attack level
  2. Banned for force feeding a christmas tree to a cat, baubles and all
  3. The firemaking 99 is absolutely useless. However it is going to become much more common. I have been training firemaking alot since the GE started. I would probabbly go for cooking and leave firemaking as a secondary skill to be used while waiting for exchange updates.
  4. My use of the word discriminate just meant "tell the difference between". The question of fairness is perfectly reasonable but when would a computer be able to say when the time for the bigger trade to occur is fair, and how many little trades should occur before this point, and is 53k enough bigger than say 45k, is a minute too long to wait etc(these are very human like questions). No I still feel that they would not program it that clever. The point is, in any case, that we do not know what occurs in depth in GE and all this is idle conjecture. We do need to know the game rules.
  5. I did not mean it like that. The idea that a computer can start to discriminate between 20k or 19k and factor in times and prices is not correct. This would either require manual intervention by a human brain or would require Jagex to program in an entirely unfair way which is not really their style. Caldius - I like that as an idea - It would be nice to have Jagex actually explain this
  6. But if you scream 7 x assist etc will it actually work?
  7. No it cannot be that because no computer is that clever. There has to be a queuing system of some kind and price dictates in which queue you are in. Both my offers were in same queue and they should be processed in order. If that was not the case then the system would be unfair. I am definitely leaning towards updated prices causing discrepancies!!!!
  8. So it appears then that no one really understands how this may have occurred. This is a major flaw if you are playing a game where the rules are only known by the referee!!! Actually I am now wondering whether in the short time between the two trades the price updated in the GE and this pushed the first offer to the end of the queue.
  9. Iwas selling 53k of the item on main and 208 on noob
  10. Sorry you have misunderstood. I have two accounts using GE. They sell the same item at the same price. My main account put its item up for sale first but my noob account sold and nothing happened to main.
  11. Can anyone explain whether this still can occur and discuss the different methods available now we have the trade limit or is it now a skill that is even harder than prayer to train in f2p? If it can only be done with the assist system does the fact I can do 7 x airs help or is this too low? Has anyone out there actually experienced this?
  12. I realise that this subject has been touched upon in other posts but Im not interested in the economics or whether it is communistic or capitalistic in principle. What I want to know is whether it is fair. Yesterday morning I put a large number of steel bars for sale on my main account at a certain price. 20 minutes later I put a much smaller amount up for sale on my noob account at the same price. This morning when I checked the deals my main account had not moved but my noob account trade had been completed. What is happening? If there are rules that is fine but I would like to know what they are?
  13. Last night I was playing and two other players were having a conversation regarding a pen and the word is. My daughter looked over my shoulder and asked what they were saying. I managed to explain that the " Pen is mightier than the sword" This is not what they were saying. Do we need a censor? Oh yes! I would not play and neither would my kids if not!!!!
  14. Thats funny cos I am quitting smoking next week !!!
  15. I spend a lot (I really mean a lot) of time on runescape and do consider most of it wasted. However I have a family and social life too. I will quit in 6 months. As a student I spent two years grant to play slot machines in 3 months. I spent tens of thousands of dollars over the next few years. I do not play them now. I have no idea what my next obsession will be I just hope its not expensive and useless.
  16. So what you are saying that my character has no clothes now and is running about in the dark with other characters with no clothes on.!! Thank goodness Jagex didnt provide weapons!!!!! Not sure about the pirates and their jolly roger though
  17. Yes we (f2p) are absolutely vital to the economy and are the greater gatherers of the raw resources. Over the past couple of weeks the biggest complaints have been from pkers, stakers and duellers and there appear to many of them. The vast majority of these players obviously have no interest in many of the skills that ultimately provide their wealth. This is absolutely right and such activities are why people become members. Activities such as mining are very intensive and most members will not do it because they are not members just to grind. There are of course a few thousand members who train all skills but let us remember who it was buying Gold. The game has developed since it began in this symbiotic way.We all need each other. If f2p was deleted then the game would cease simply because this relationship forms the basis of the game. Please do not give us summoning because we all know who will end up providing the mats for the beasts to wipe their feet.
  18. I now mine rune wearing only plate and helm and power ammy so I would not lose much at all if killed by revenents. When pkers were around it would be full rune and skimmy. I can now be attacked by revenents and just run to altar and restore prayer. When pkers were around I would stuff my face while running until level 20 and then teleport. I hated pkers but enjoyed them in a perverse sort of way. Rune ore is easier to get now but I am just stockpiling at the moment. I am a level 90 smither and 99 miner but intend to become a 99 smither without smelting, spending money or mining (go figure that out !!!). I rarely used to go rune mining because of lack of xp and the total time spent in preparing for trip and recovering afterwards so I made addy items instead to high alch. Smithing and mining may not make as much money now ( I sold rune wc axes for 16 - 20 mill) but in F2P they still rock (excuse the pun) and have the most kudos associated with the achievements of 99s. By the way I noticed someone posted about higher level miners not being as good as lower levels. Is this true? Can anyone absolutely confirm or deny this? It has always been the biggest cause of my blood preesure rising and I thought I just needed to sharpen my pick.
  19. Why do P2P seem to find it so necessary to hijack any discussion with their obsessiveness against f2p? Lcool is only making a point that many people do find it hard to find $5.00 per month. If you really want to discuss how us freeloaders are so whingy start yet another post about it. The trouble is only the bigots will read it and reply. So it seems a choice of fletching, thieving or herblore is favorite if this was to ever happen. Its also favourite that it wont happen
  20. Nice idea!!! However it misses one crucial point. The time taken to level up for f2p is already very high even with only a few of the skills available. People that play RS are mainly in the 12 - 16 age group. The changes that occur to the lives of these people ie the discovery of the opposite sex, beer etc mean that the vast majority will leave the game before they can level these skills. So there is no point for Jagex. The only way to make it attractive to f2p would be to give the same as they give to members but this also makes no sense to Jagex. Fletching is about the only skill that is a possibility in that it is boring to train and has no direct relation to member skills
  21. Sadly Mauranius I feel you are way under in the calculation. Range,rc,prayer, mining and fishing are either just at 35k xp per hour or much less and that is only achieved at high levels. I too have approx 90 mill xp but fully intend to retire in 6 months and your maths has reminded me why.
  22. I will stick to ice caves cos I like the bones. WOW so many guides that need to be consigned to the archive. Mind you I suppose we need to wait until Jagex have finished their major updates. I still believe that they can and will return the wildy to something more similar to the one with pkers.
  23. I absolutely detest the people that think this is a good way to play the game. They must be the same people at parties who open cans of beer take a couple of swigs and then get another from the fridge. It is starting to happen alot at the ice cave where rangers and mages take on two or even three of the ice giants at same time. The solution. I now bring a few thousand waters, earths and body runes with me and wear full rune. If one of these selfish inconsiderate people (rather a loose term there) start then I return the favour by using curse spell. The spell does not work cos I have full rune on so I can keep 2 or 3 of the giants occupied for hours. (I also get 35k xp per hour for very little cash). When the twit is gone I then stop.
  24. I tried Lord Gromits tip about training in Ice field in wildy for best xp in f2p and was nearly slaughtered by two revenants. Is this now a completely useless out of date guide or am I missing something? (BTW I am level 115ish and usually train in ice cave near Port Sarim)
  25. Bini already said it but I will repeat. Syzygy is a real legend (He is often happy to chat too). There are no real skills to runescape but there are smarter ways to do things. It takes a lot of mental planning to get 99 in any skill never mind several. On the other hand is it really an accomplishment to be able to say "Look at how many hours I have spent clicking on a pixellated character". A real achievement would be to spend half the hours spent playing the game doing charity work or similar.
