Runescape is a medieval based fantasy, it has what the real world had in terms of government and hierarchy, but with the addition of the many fantasy elements. Seriously people, can you at least get the very basics of history right before writing something? fantasy or not? If you want to write a serious story, or even a book, you will eventually have to start doing a lot of research, because even the simplest misconceptions will kill the realism in any story, and the reader will simply not be able to take it seriously. It's important. The fact that some of you can't even get the basics down such as what Medieval is, and so on, shows that you have a long way to go. The key to any good story is that the reader has to feel like they are in that world, and in the middle of the events. If the writer starts telling you that 2 + 2 = 7, then the reader just says "What The F-? ", and the story becomes a simple piece of text. Umm, by towns I mean if it was based in medival times, Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador, Rimmington, etc. wouldn't exist because they ARE NOT REAL. Ok, and nowhere does it say RuneScape is medieval.
