Oh, I thought that was the Elite version. So, no visual or stat change between them? Also what was someone talking about, a secret weapon or something other? What's that about?

Bad luck on runescape accounts?
Some accounts are luckier than others and luck is not completely random. People will disagree with this statement because they know that RuneScape is made from maths and have no faith otherwise. Prime example: Pictures forum. Sure, people only post when they get a good drop, but it's the same few people frequently, and everyone else rarely. I don't know when luck for an account is determined. Back around the times of Barrows, I had decent-to-lowish luck in most endeavors. Since then, I have noticed a rather dramatic, consecutive difference. People (or, perhaps only I, or only the less-luckier) get rare drops when they are not focused on getting them (the same went for random events and such when they were in a firmer seat of power, and Fishing trophies and all things similar). Now, obviously it is impossible for RuneScape to know how focused you are, or what you are thinking, but it's a reliable trend. An impossibly reliable trend. However, being that thinking about making yourself not think about something makes you think about that thing that you didn't want to think about, this is hardly a strategy for getting rare drops. I don't expect the previously mentioned things to change but I'll just keep trying... Maybe one day I'll be paying enough attention not to die at Kree'arra, but little enough about the main goal of getting a hilt to get an Armadyl Hilt split. Feel free to disagree one and all, but I'll just put my fingers in my ears and go lalalalalala.

Finally got that ring in the Grand Exchange... :!:

Junior-Cadet Bertol...
That was from the DYK, from Tip.it times. Thank you for that exact quote, however, unless they mean the imbued Ring of Charos and were just vague about it, this doesn't work.

Streamlining.
This isn't angry enough to be a rant. ;) And as to that, that's exactly like what I was saying - they seem to need an excuse to go back and update something, and even then, as with the dwarves, they sometimes don't. They should be updating and upgrading everything that isn't HD yet.
-
Streamlining.
I can if their upgrades thus-far have barely scratched the surface of what I'm describing, and when they don't seem to have any plans of getting anywhere near it.
-
Streamlining.
Within RuneScape there are four levels of technology. I would define these as: 1. Pre-RS2/Classic - Example: Digsite Quest 2. RS2 - Example: Priest in Peril 3. RS2.5 - Example: Fairy Tale Part I 4. RS3/RS HD - Example: While Guthix Sleeps Now, just because I only used quests in my examples does not mean that this is limited to only quests. If it were, there wouldn't be as much of an issue. The issue is that even though we are in what is basically RS3, these other levels of technology and mechanics still exist, and there seems to be a policy of "when we visit this area again, we might update it or we might not" by JaGEx. Being that this is the upgrade year, so-said by them, the creators, they should actually be focusing on these areas more than anything. It's really fairly difficult to list out everything they need to do, as it is a huge amount. There are also areas that are caught in 2.5 and are therefore hard to differentiate - these too need upgrading, albeit likely not as much as anything from earlier eras. On top of bringing those parts of the game up to date, they need to fix the minor everyday issues such as wrong or missing textures (take for example the Soul Wars lake dark spots and especially the jerky animations when characters wield staves or halberds). RuneScape is a huge game, so they can be cut some slack. But only so much, and only for so long. Such small issues should take no longer than a week to fix. There are still graphical issues in my Player Owned House that have been there since the skill's creation. RuneScape is a game. It is a saved creation and even work of art, and it CAN be made perfect, and smooth, and sleek, and finished. And at this rate we won't get there for years to come... The newest quest is actually what sparked me to write this. If you have done it you will know that they completely reuse the Vengeance animations not once but twice, as well as the Chaos Elemental's attack animation, and the Balance Elemental's arrows (and there may be others that I missed...). They also failed to update Thorgel, the assisting dwarf, or his crew, who are excavating a tunnel (as well as him having missing animations), and used what seemed to be completely pre-HD plague clothing for Arianwyn (which is NOT even the same kind as you actually handed him! INCONSISTENCY!!). What they DID do is craft a beautiful all new puzzle room with stunning HD graphics, and a HD-grade NPC (the scribe). This is one of the saddest possible things they could do: release a new quest within a prestigious storyline with decent play value and stick it in a limbo between RS2 and RS3 graphics, animations, and mechanics. What's more is that I read on a different thread on these forums that they are waiting to release Mournings End Part III until they have an even higher level of graphics. If they were truly worried about the prestige of this questline, and not just pulling a lame excuse out from somewhere I don't even want to think about, they would have made all-new animations and upgraded all involved NPCs for this just-released quest. I do not like their seeming mentality that RuneScape is a finished product when it is far from being so. I believe they do still officially acknowledge it as 'HD Beta'; however, they then do things like sell all sorts of apparel and game cards, and flashy advertising. JaGEx is deserving of the fruit of their labor but it's misleading that they should always (look at the trailers they presented) show only the HD side of RuneScape. It nearly physically hurts me to see the glistening, moving water in the Legends Quest dungeon and then have the giant blob of a rock right next to it. HD is like gleaming delicious icing on a stale, rotten cake... ------- There are other things I wanted to add that escape me right now, so I'll likely post those here once I remember them. For one, they've updated the near entirety of the Free-to-Play side, which is what people will see and then reflect upon the rest of the game, believing the whole game to be of such quality and signing up for members in hopes of more of the same. This is very nearly false advertisement. ------- I said what I wanted to say. Have fun.

Herblore, Prayer, Magic...
Well, the highest level potion you can make is not always the most effective. They have guides for other skills that have everything already figured out, like 'do such and such until such and such level, which will cost X GP'. I could figure out everything on my own, although that would take longer, and I might be wrong and not actually be making the most efficient potion. I'm sure someone has done an in-depth analysis over what potions sell best, lose the least amount of money, and are most effective from one level to another. They had guides like that for Summoning, although admittedly, Summoning has many more variables than does Herblore. I do expect them to overturn their decision, at least for Castle Wars, Clan Wars, Soul Wars, and other safe minigames, likely before the end of the month, causing even more people to go after it, lengthening the inflated prices of ingredients. To be honest, the 40% Magic damage bonus seems like it would be significant at Rock Lobsters, which I would need to kill to get the charms for 88 Summoning and 99 Magic anyway. The Overload Potion would then also aid me on Slayer tasks from which I can gain further charms and money that can go towards training Prayer. Also, I would gain many herbs that I could actually finally use from Slayer. However, perhaps someone could explain why exactly the cost of Prayer is rising so much? Dragon Bones cost three times what they used to... Sounds perfect to me!

Herblore, Prayer, Magic...
Thank you for the replies, but before I set down any path, could someone please give me a guide to Herblore training or a rough cost of getting 95 Herblore (from 65)? I wouldn't mind completely leveling my bank if I could get both!

What to use for commodies in MA
I used Coifs. They're slightly better than 1:1, and you get them instantly (up to 5k at a time) so they're a fairly good choice.

Phoenix feathers
Oh, wow... Are these the exact same kind that you get from the daily Phoenix task? That are 3k apiece?? Sorry to ask questions on your own help thread, but wow... How come I've never heard about this before? :???: :-?

Herblore, Prayer, Magic...
Well, yes, but if they allow for them to be used in PvP situations then the demand won't die off for quite some time yet, or even ever... They are not allowed in PvP though, so alot of the Hype will die down. Alot of the people (like me) never saw a use fo high Herblore and now that there is a use for it some pople might just spend the money to get it. The people who do so will do it now while its still fresh and new. Within a month there will be 5 thousand new Herblore Capes, the hype will be gone and the Prices back to normal. Yes, but if they overturn their recent decision and allow for them to be used in PvP, even if that excludes PK'ing worlds, even more demand would be created. So, even though they're rising now, they could very well still be rising in a month from now.

Herblore, Prayer, Magic...
I am trying to decide between buying 99 Herblore (from 65) or 99 Prayer (from 76). Which is more useful for more situations? I'm leaning towards Herblore, but Prayer is also part of my goal of maxed combat. Further to those, how much would 96 and 99 Herblore (respectively) cost? Recommend a guide if you can, please. With the advent of Extreme Magic Potions, how are Rock Lobsters affected in terms of speed and training? Would 94 to 99 be made significantly faster? Depending on the cost of Herblore, I'm currently thinking: 96/99 Herblore, 80/85/90 Prayer, 99 Magic (this one's a given with any plan)... --- I feel like I can finally keep a long-term goal! :D  [unrelated] When are H'Ween Masks going to go back up? Will someone here please sell me an Onyx Ring, Onyx, or Uncut Onyx? Any input is appreciated, as long as it doesn't veer off topic completely.

Did you do this through "fast ma" cc? Last time I went on it, it was empty... The fast ma chat is a joke, just go to world 76 and do it. You'll get people using heavies, but its rare. Fast MA no longer functions. The closest you can get is other people knowledgeable of Fast MA's ways moving to overlap red which is like 1 in 100 rounds, and then blue will usually cannon all three other teams to death (or try to, at least) before 26 minutes, causing everyone else to miss out on a rank. There are actually a lot of people who did that. I label them as jackasses, since you get very little return from killing eachother. Teams of all heavies are abundant, and usually used by people new to Mobilising Armies (and lower levels in general), before they figure out it really isn't all that fun of a game. Just storm the castle with a light team. Don't worry about moving to the south wall, because the other players usually won't, and it will make them a lot more likely to try to kill you off early with two players in one spot. Wait until it says 26 minutes and then use cannon special units to kill off your troops. If everyone is using lights, and attacking the castle, and began attacking the castle at nearly the same time, use your cannons to kill off everyone else, and draw back your troops before they all die completely [after 26 minutes]. Even though you will be losing rounds the greater majority of the time, if you bet your maximum after rank 100 you'll get most of it back, and after rank 200 you'll only lose 1k investment in the conversion (so you invest 15k, get 14k back in reward points). This will allow you to buy almost everything by the time you finish.

Junior-Cadet Bertol...
I heard a while ago, a few days after Mobilising Armies' release, that at rank 300 with a full Lord-Marshall uniform you could turn in H.A.M. Member Bertol for some large rank payoff to a higher-up. Now, obviously, rank is pointless after 300 unless you want more layouts (301, 401) but I want the full(-ish) Mobilising Armies experience. Who do I turn Bertol into for the ranks? Who actually enjoys this minigame [past the first few rounds]?

The hellish nightmare is over... For the love of God and his best buddy Zamorak, someone please sell me an Onyx Ring!

The Ring of Charos.
How... Pointless... :-| :| Thanks.
-
The Ring of Charos.
At Mobilising Armies, you are able to have a Ring of Charos imbued at rank 200. This provides it with some rather measly defensive bonuses, but are there any other added effects, such as further price decreases for various services?

Removal of new high level potions in PvP
At least we can still use them in the privacy of our own homes to tear our friends apart...  Taken out of all safe minigames too? Seriously? Where it hardly matters if you die? It probably does, but does this also include the Prayer variant? Same sentiments as most of the people here...

Mobilizing Armies...
Unfortunately, Fast MA does not seem to function any longer. Thanks anyway, all!
-
Mobilizing Armies...
Thanks, but what's the plan for play for Fast MA? All teams go to the south of the castle and pile in one place in Siege and then each player releases all of their special scrolls (which scroll specifically?)? - That's from memory of the original topic... I wouldn't agree that all minigames are only played for the rewards, seeing as how some have very crappy rewards but are still played, like Castle Wars. Some, like Barrows, are also enjoyable on both sides as far as rewards and actual play are concerned, but then again, this is all subjective.
-
Mobilizing Armies...
What happened to Fast Mobilizing Armies/Fast MA? What's the plan for Fast MA, if it is indeed still running? How horrible that it's only played for the rewards...

Your Runescape Avatar
[img=http://avatar-rs.runescape.com/c=QciiGKsSt8k/blutters/chat.gif] That didn't tell me anything... :? Switch where it says "chat" in the code to "full" that's all you need to do. That didn't change what picture it displays as my avatar on the RSOF.
