Using a range top instead of gloves might be a better idea. I'm not sure if the accuracy > the chance to get double bolt shots, because the QBD has such low range defence. Oh, and red glowing eyes >>> yellow glowing eyes. Pretty sure swifts are better but I might suggest spirit cape instead of ava's for more steel titan specs, they help a lot. K I can do that and I can replace Gaze with T3 Corruption for red eyes :)

Not sure if this is a good place to ask this or not, but I'd like to begin drawing armor/clothing with finished products like the RS concept arts for my own works. I'm wondering if there is a good program to do this, like one that provides a human figure so that you know exactly where knees, etc are, that's resizable...

For those of us not wanting to make the extensive pull required to fight QBD, What's the best way to fight the higher level Grotworms? They'll supposedly drop new stuff after the QBD's released.

The woman has fingers as well. Not the first promotional image they've released recently with those either. Would not be surprised if they bring in a bunch of graphics updates with the combat rework, because a character in another image sported an updated low level crossbow. Most new people after Papa Mambo/Herblore Habitat have fingers now! Hints of evolution in RS - people sprouting fingers...

The echoes weren't very frequent, and when they did sound, they weren't cardinal directions. In fact, there was only one clue (about light or lack thereof). It was otherwise guesswork. Almost more people raging here than in the quest puzzle. Dassa gud troll jagex, dassa gud troll. Oh well, still made it to the word wall. Didn't really get any good pics from this quest... :(

Ooooo a QBD cape? :lol: And I assume that's either the 'upgradeable crossbow' or it's a Dragon Crossbow (or both!) I just noticed the purple trim around the cowl and the shoulders on the body armour. Could that potentially be concept art for Pernix armour? I'm going to say yes because of the shoulders, but any other identifiers are unfortunately cut off.

Oh. I always suspected there was some conversion rate, like (for example) 1.5x your Magic def puts it on the same "scale" as your Ranged or melee def. Thanks for the tips by the way, but I was really just going there to test out Gano, since like I said I expected it to be amazing... :mellow:

Well I went there before that with neit/defender instead of visor/eeks. Tried Polypore the first time but it didn't hit well on 2nd form so I just said screw it. Anyway, I was mainly marveling at the fact that I can get more than 3 kills tanking Ranged when with the setup I just showed I barely get 2. I would have expected the soaking to maker a bigger difference and the Magic def to be "relatively" better than the Ranged def from the other setup. How does Magic defence convert, numberwise?

Goliath Gloves are good VS KQ but fuggin forget Gano. 234 Magic Def and still getting hit every attack.

If you consider playing xbox while afking Runecrafting as 'making the game more fun', I'll concede the point. The gameplay at the Runespan is inherently more engaging than running ZMI: it includes elements of teamwork; it has meaningful milestones to work towards; its gameplay dynamically changes as you level up; it has elements of variance that occasionally pay out rewards; the yellow wizards add a dynamic searching subgame for a more rewarding experience... Basically, it is an objectively better game design. And the graphics really are some of the best in the game. As much as I consider RuneSpan a boon, I'm inclined to agree that it's still only relatively fun, the value of which is questionable, since as per Sy's example, having dental work done is relatively fun compared to being shot. I spent the majority of my time in RuneSpan also playing PS3 (while still hopping around, no less) and can easily determine what I was getting more enjoyment from. The variables in RuneSpan that would make it more engaging are not different enough from each other, such as they are in Dungeoneering. In fact, everything else you mentioned - elements of teamwork, meaningful milestones, and dynamically changing gameplay - are heavily apparent in Dungeoneering, which is why I would use that as a base for comparison. I'm not sure what teamwork RuneSpan has to offer, unless you mean node calling, which is hardly necessary most of the time, or siphoning the RuneSphere, which is the same thing you do for the entirety of the rest of the Span, except in a specific area. Leveling up RC only gives you access to creatures and nodes that function exactly the same but are different looking, so I'd hardly call those "meaningful milestones," nor would I apply such a designation to the paltry ranks or rewards on offer. Finding the yellow wizard is somewhat variant, and although I would not deem it fun, it was a nice touch.

GF chances of getting good horns. Ah well, there are still 2 weekends left. I don't consider this a complete loss, since I respect those with Comp (T) for their sheer dedication, and therefore can appreciate nice little things that alleviate the crap that gets randomly thrown at them (like the arbitrary RuneSpan ranks).

They must've fixed this quickly then. I just tested it myself and it didn't work during the duel. In fact, dueling appears to remove it entirely, as my LP didn't begin to rise afterward either. I'm not sure what the deal is, because the first time I was boosted (at Draynor bank) the entire effect was immediate, whereas when I created a bonfire at Duel Arena to doublecheck and gained the boost, my LP rose to the boosted amount at the normal healing rate (or would have, had I not realized this after a few seconds and eaten a lobster to duel againto double check).

I would hope that true balance is finally brought between the respective combat styles, but such a notion has been repeatedly dashed by updates since the original announcement like Ganodermic and Dominion gloves, so I'll just have a wait and see... I've made it clear in the past that I'm dissatisfied with RS combat as a whole, so anything to bring it closer to my ideal notion is welcome.

Though I agree with this, all marketing is like this to some extent, and it's best just to switch off to it. I'm not really involved with marketing, but I'm sure when you spend the money on an ad you're going to try encourage people as much as you can. "The world's greatest adventure", untrue as it may be is probably the right thing to say. Of course I understand this, but even products for which such a confident statement might be appropriate usually have some sort of qualifier. :P

I'd briefly read the first page of this topic but hadn't seen the ad or a link to it. Just watched it from the FB link on the first post... A bit stunned at just how shitty that was... Was that all the airtime they could buy, or did they figure people watching those channels were just amused by simple things? Seriously, they didn't even show the troll attacking him before Raptor deflects it did they? There's a certain point A to B that they aren't even following. Honestly, the quality of the cinematic trailer those segments were taken from is decent, and the whole "WTF just happened" might have enticed me to at least check it out if I saw the commercial several times and had never heard of RS. It was really rather pompous for them to deem it "The world's greatest adventure" though, after showing so little...
