Listen to this story, a story about defence: Me and my friend decided to do some dueling. First time we went without armour and only weapons. No food ofcourse. I am combat level 84, he is 77. I have 70 attack, 70 strenght and 64 defence. He has 70 attack, 79 strenght and 45 defence. We both have 70 hp so it' s fair there. We both used rune scimitars as the main attack and 2h for the finishing moves. So the first fight he wins hands down with half his hp left. So goes number 2. And 3. And 4. All the way to fight number 8 where I win with 5 hp remaining. Oh I am so awesome. Ok so we' re both a bit confused but ok. Now comes with armour. We both slap on full rune but no kiteshields and a green d'hide body since he doesn' t have a rune plate. Food, prayer and strenght potions allowed. The fight starts, tilting in my favor after hitting high several times, forcing him to eat above 10 hp. I win with 3 lobsters in my backpack and 4 hp left. Woohoo. Now we go back to no armour and strenght pots. Again, he opens a can of whoopass and I get smacked down brutally. After 5 losses we try the armour thing again. This time I loose. After that, we just agreed that defence is useless and even though I have 20 more levels at it, fought the same way as he did (I know how and when to use the 2h, that' s how I won twice) and prayed every possible way I could, I still lost to a superior fighter. With the same attack, 9 more strenght levels and 20 less defence levels. Ah yes, armour does what it should, but does it work like it should depending on your stats? We train stats equally to be better, right? Train attack to hit more often, train strenght to hit more and train defence to block more attacks. Just that defence is a glass house while the other two are reinforced concrete skyscrapers. Atleast what I managed to figure out while killing and getting killed in the Wilderness. So I just let it go since my "superior" defence is useless. EDIT: Oh yea, forgot to type in. He hit max hits about double the time I did. good example, 5 kills? why don't you fight someone with same attack and strength? I can promise that the higher def WILL make a difference. I'm only 82 def(around 200 melee def stats) but I win 9 out of 10 fights with a melee guy. Mostly they have around 75 def and 90 att/str. I always use sup defence pot for a fight and most of their *uber* dds specs fail. Even whips and godswords have a hard time hitting on me :thumbsup: You probably super def pot in clan wars whilst they're not potted up at all. That's why whips and godswords have a 'hard time' hitting on you.

If they made it so Godswords (with a 90 att 90 str req) hit on armour like they do now and had implemented the armour change from the start, I agree it would have been awesome. But it's too late now, nobody would accept them changes.

No. Did you play Classic, which is where the term "pure" derives? Not only did I play it, I was pure on it. Most pures had ranged and strength.

To me this seems like an invitation to go and use all the power and forces i have at my will. There are many things that 'pro honor-pkers' would say aren't honorable, such as: Safing, Teleporting, Farcasting, Pjing, Running (From Dms or just running), Praying and theres a few more I assume. I left out 26king because it would be too much effort to go into it. Safing. For those who don't know, safing is when you eat a piece of food (take a sip of brew) when you have reasonably high hp. Scenario: I'm fighting a guy with a high strength and im 1 iteming like the complete noob i am. Obviously i don't want to die so I AM GOING TO EAT WHEN I FEEL LIKE EATING some would say it doesn't benefit you in the long run, but idc, as long as i dont get KOED, which for me is BAD Teleporting. Pretty self explanitary Scenario: I've gone deeper for a bit more fun, a group of mages start attacking me, do I want to get owned? NO, SO I TELE + LIVE. Jagex put teleport restrictions in to stop me, but thats why i rarely venture past level 20 wilderness Farcasting. When you mage, often with freeze spells, from far away so they cannot damage you. Scenario: I've just completed Desert Treasure and I'm ecstatic! I can now use these holy spells which will drastically help me in the art of Pking! I see a guy skulled in full bandos and a partyhat. 'Wow, thats a lot of risk' so I attack him in the hopes of getting a good drop and make it easy on myself by not letting him hit me back. Pjing. When you attack somebody just after they've finished a fight and often have low hp. Often done with special attacks. Scenario: I've spent 50m? on my new D Claws, I've heard the spec on them is awesome, and im skulled. I'm risking alot so I want some good drops, 2 guys have just finished slugging it out and one of them gets the KO whilst on mid-low hp. I see my oppurtunity and pounce. I get a nice drop and get called a few names. An easy kill. Running. Self explanatory. Scenario: I'm getting killed bad, so i decide against wasting my food, and leg it while i have a chance. Unfortuneately the guy said it was a DM (Deathmatch) so for some reason its against the rules for me to run. I do it anyway. Praying. Using protection paryers to give myself an advantage. Scenario: I'm in F2P getting hit like made, I've saved up all my cash and bought 43 prayer the week before. The guy opposite me is clearly using superhuman strength as he hits his constant 20+s so i think, this is my time! I flick on my prayer and suddenly his hits are less frequent, and I come out victorious. Those are some of the main 'non honorable pking' methods that I myself, use frequently. It gives me an advantage which I have earned. Why would i get 43 prayer if i'm not going to use it? Why would i let myself die in a dm when i could easily click a teletab and survive? Finally I would like to say, for those who oppose me. There is a nice building near Al Kharid. It is called the duel arena. This is where you can fight people on whatever terms you want. You don't want them to run? well make it so they can't run. THE WILDERNESS HAS NO RULES and its not up to other people to make them. [/rant] i've been pking since 01... and believe it or not, pking back then at least had something to do about respect. If you had to "save up" for 43 prayer, then you really only show yourself as the noob that you are. You picked the perfect forums to rant about pking... because this forum has put true pkers to the wayside, it's become cool to hate on pures and pkers... off topic: schweet, that just adds to the irony :lol: I'd say it should follow suit with other games and do it all the time, is there reakky a need to hit 60's in pvp. Having said that what would happen with bronze and iron cos at level 3 (and a little higher) your going to be killing cows (if your smart), spiders, goblins or rats which only hit 1 (as far as I can remember) so if this idea gets put in the game are people going to be invincible against cows, spiders, goblins and rats while wearing the worst armour in the game? Well i'm against it anyways. There's a reason AGS is so expensive. People enjoy hitting high. If suddenly everyone could only hit 50 max I can't see many people taking kindly to it.

Why shouldn't he take money to the minigame? He put his TRUST in Jagex that they were correct in saying the minigame was a safe one and therefore assumed his money was safe. But alas, a slight overlook by QA cost him his money. No Runescape player would anticipate that a SAFE minigame could rob you of all your money. He's not dumb for bringing money at all. Nobody could have anticipated losing all their money upon logging out, they put a lot more trust in Jagex than that. A lot of bugs that players fell victim to weren't their fault. Like the spontaneous death glitch where players just walked around and suddenly dropped dead losing all their items. Was it their fault that they decided to take a stroll with their armor and weapons? Could even the smartest of runescape players have predicted they were going to drop dead for no reason? The victim of this glitch has been through enough. He lost his life savings in the game, he got flamed by a mod who apologized but could do nothing to help him due to the policy, and now a random player shows up and calls HIM dumb for trusting Jagex's game quality? kk here is a thing, im pretty sure he heard about the 666 bloodshed, that was bug and it clear that you should freaking learn something and not bring 350MILL!!!! the thought that jagex wouldnt do it again come on it bound to happen again on next big update, well maybe next time he wont bring 350mill to a mini game I think you're the dumbest player in RS.

Guys this is a completely pointless thread. How can we even dare consider the possibilty of asking Jagex to take a bit of time out of their important work hours to confirm who has lost what and replace what is lost, as they so easily could do? Don't you know that takes time away from appearing at ingame events, talking to players about crap and giving interviews? How DARE we suggest such a thing? Mods should lock this before we're struck down by the Lords wrath.

Ur right ;D Let it stay as it is! Not higher hp levels but more hp per level. Like lvl 10 = 10 hp lvl 99 = 150 hp No..that'll confuse players and also think of the HP bar, it's big enough with 99hp! It will also mean you would wither have to start using points, such 10.1 hp or you get to a certain level and gaining 2 hp instead of 1. It'd be like how potions increase from boosting your skill by 12 to boosting your skill by 13 after you get a certain amount of levels. Say, by the exp of 50 hitpoints you'd actually have 70 hp. By the exp of 70 hp, you'd have 95 hp. By the exp of 90 hp you'd have 120 hp. And by the exp of 99 hp you'd have 150 hp. For example.

Runescape also gets a miniscule ammount of content updates compared to WoW. $15 a month in WoW gets you huge content upgrades and incredible customer service, 24/7. $6 a month in RS gets you updates that ruin the game and cause you to irreversibly lose items, plus you get some awesome automated customer support that never gets you what you want. Runescape used to be worth the money, but with the quality of service and updates this year, they should be paying YOU just to stick around while they destroy this game. The real sad thing is that I agree with you.
