  1. The point of the gallery is to show off your art. That's always been the point of art galleries and here is no different. I can understand your attitude, because you're someone who obviously does know a fair bit about art, and will always have useful c/c. Not all of us are like that. As much as it may annoy you (and others) that some people who use the gallery prefer to compliment rather than provide c/c for the majority of their posts, well...if you really care about seeing the gallery prosper, that attitude has gotta go, because it's going to kill the place. Personally, I think being complimented is always nice, even if you're looking for c/c.
  2. Both my parents have long flowing signatures...I kind of just starting scrawling my name out in cursive (I'm a terribly messy writer) so it looks different every time. Oh well.
  3. Rule two will kill this place - I realize I'm not a hardcore gallery user but disallowing people from simply showing their appreciation for work that has been done - basically leaves you with no casual art fans. As I've said before - I know next to nothing about the aesthetics of art, I've no Photoshop experience, only briefly dabbled in photography. There are much more qualified people here than I to give c/c, so I feel most comfortable (as do other casual users) often simply praising someone for something I like that they've put time and effort into. In a real art gallery, you don't disallow those who aren't professional art critics. This should be no different, or this place will just become deader than it is already (unfortunately).
  4. Well, that wasn't too bad. Kaberle - i can't decide. He's stuck around for so long, and been a key part of their team, he's not super expenisve. People argue that he's gotten worse, but really he's on pace for 50+ points which is as good as any year he's had, pretty much. Consistent for what he is, and on a team that lacks consistency...I wouldn't mind seeing him stick around. Giguere - absolutely. Decent goalie, wayy too expensive - with decent depth in the marlies and Gustavsson capable (sometimes) I think he's unecessary. Phaneuf - not the player he once was, for sure. You can't deny that he helps the team though, they do have a better record with him in the lineup than without. I'd prefer to give him another year or two to see how he fits in. Lebda - this picture sums up my feelings on the matter: Komisarek - agreed - too much money, too little work. Armstrong: disagreed - hard working, grind it out type that the leafs need more of, not less. Plus he's funny in interviews :D
  5. Second part, like tripsis said, would require back end code changes including the bbcode parser(i assume) and database - so I have to say I think that's unlikely. Considering the rank colours are a custom mod already i doubt it would be easy to implement the first part either :( Just my guesses though.
  6. I've never heard any jagex banning anyone from their site by IP.... You can get on any other website, can you?
  7. Well, that was embarrassing.
  8. I actually prefer the colour in that shot, gives it more character...
  9. It's a normal installation in pretty much all ways. It should also allow you to format the drive through the install.

Very nice :) I like it much better seeing it with actual content (although still not a huge fan of the nav colour combo).
  11. It is posts like this I despise. Not only is it barely true, but it isn't telling anyone how to improve. Oh god, the hypocrisy.. First one is actually really nice, though I think it could do without the big diagonal stripes overlaying the whole piece. If you removed them, and made the text more appealing, it would be improved loads. general tips- don't increase the exposure on some of these; you'll lose detail and it'll look a bit shabby. The girls in 2 and 5 are too bright. ^^ Also, if i were you i'd stay away from fractal brushes (or at least until you are really confident in PS). They make things very messy and are rather hard to implement. Its not hypocrisy if he already posted his c/c. I also see nothing wrong with being appreciative of someone's work. There are people who browse these forums who aren't art aficionados and who merely come here to take a look. Myself, I've seen many things that I really like - so I've complimented the person on them, saying that I like them - but as I'm not an artist by any means I refrain from pretending to have some useful c/c.

Making $1300 a month? I don't live in england but around here you'd be hard pressed to pay rent just for that amount, not even considering savings/bills/food/etc...
  13. I like vintage too. It doesn't work on every picture but I think it works for a lot of them.
  14. That's insane. He didn't even look remotely abnormal (although he may have had he been walking). He was carrying at least 40, maybe 50 pounds of weapons. You would definitely be able to tell if he was trying to walk, and he definitely couldn't sit down. Then again, he'd hardly need all that to do some damage. Plus, that's not nearly the most baggy clothes I've seen people wear...
  15. Sorry to hear that, RIP :(

  17. It's not that much - many people have terabytes of movies and videos. Deleting those would only serve to provide more space on your hard drive.
  18. Very nice :) Specifically like #1 and 5-9 :P
  19. Derp. Crit is still good, it's just harder to get to that amount of crit because if you think about it, most of your gear will contain hit, where as at ICC maybe 2 or 3 pieces had it and you were capped. Yeah I started playing once guilds had already cleared ICC so I went right into that gear. Good point. We now have about 20 iLevels more on our gear than we had right after dinging 85. In ICC heroic gear you had 90 iLevels "extra". Same as above.
  20. When society gets too used to gun ownership, trying to take them away will only lead to a black market for guns. Black markets are never good Exactly my point. Like drugs... making them illegal doesn't exactly help. I find that quite hard to believe. Making drugs illegal doesn't make them impossible to obtain; but it does curb their usage, significantly so. Go to any American high school and tell me how much pot you see floating around. If I remember correctly, there has actually been significantly less marijuana usage when it was legal. If there is a demand, there will be a supply (legal or not) and banning an item is hardly an effective measure to combating demand. Many unapparent problems have arisen from bans too - underhanded drug dealers, smugglers, organized crime, etc. have all fluctuated as a result of forcing people to go through barbed wire to get what they want. Actually, throughout my high school career, I remember people constantly having to find new dealers, or stock up when they did find someone precisely because there were very few reliable sources.
  21. Interesting topic....but I do think asking on the relationship thread would be more appropriate: http://forum.tip.it/topic/192134-i-want-a-girlfriend-and-other-such-relationship-advice/ Welcome to the forums btw. Locked.
  22. Like Tripsis, I think it's a good idea - but I'd prefer to see the activity first. I don't see them being nearly as active as they once were even with this update.
  23. Yes, but it was still harder to get, and that was my point. I'm not claiming that a blanket ban on all drugs is the best thing for society, what I am saying is that banning something (whatever the other effects may be) generally makes it harder to get. Do you think all those negatives (organized crime and all) are a balanced trade off to restricting people's personal choices? Also lol this thread is pretty terrible at staying on track. From guns to nazis to drugs I'm not even condoning banning alcohol  I'm just attempting to debunk the myth that a gun control would be ineffective. But yes, I do support the ban on most drugs (excepting alcohol and maybe marijuana) because of the strain abuses of those drugs put on the healthcare system. Not so much of an argument for the states, but for a country with publicly funded healthcare it's quite a poignant one. Pm me or create a new topic if you want to continue as we're getting OT.
