I think the point people are trying to make is that it's easy to over-analyze these things. Often times the simple method is the best.

It may be partially due to that, but I suspect it's due more to the fact that female sexuality is valuable. If a woman is giving it away cheaply (by being "slutty") it devalues other women not wishing to give it away so cheaply, hence it is in women's interests to shame that person. Most men, on the other hand, would be thrilled if every woman was a "slut".

Rather than asking us, you should ask a mature person close to you (hopefully you have some such person). I know I feel much more comfortable giving my close friends relationship advice than I do random people on here because I have a much clearer picture from personal experience...
