Wait, so the lilac-ish one? Cool, I span for almost the entirety of America. That means that flying near there is going to be risky for trade ships and such.
  2. Wouldn't going from Ice Age -> 5 degrees in 5 years kill like 80% of all the wildlife
  3. I think most of us can digest small amounts of metal, but no, it wont help you since you wont absorb much of the metal into your bloodstream. Plus, the amount of metals needed are so low that eating more than a teaspoon full would be bad for you. It just doesn't provide much nutrition.
  4. And you have a better plan?

So...where did the floating landmass near Canada go? It seems that either Sere claimed it (?) or it just disappeared... The thing about equal population and income is that otherwise somebody can claim a big, wealthy country, and then that would force the small nations into an alliance to combat them. Sorta like the NWO. I think we also need to make sure that one person can't claim half of the world really quickly and increase their income by some huge amount. I'm fine with different populations, as long as the income is roughly the same.

Sounds good to me. We're using a production point system, right? If so, how many points do we start with, and how much does creating a new production station cost. I think all nations should start with equal amounts of points, random events and other stuff. Including population.
  7. Seraphi replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
Okay, so if each nation starts with 2 production, and another one takes how long to build? My nations speciality will be (!!) Airships.

Unnassaultable? It has a ton of shanty towns, a few decently defended port towns, almost no walls, and only minor defenses. What made you assume it was unnassaultable? Remember that each nation is basically gimped for a while, so there will be no 100 foot high walls made out of machine guns.

Oh yeah, and my people will also tend to attack ships which fly around Canadian airspace. Don't take it as a declaration of war, since I havn't technically told them to do it. It's just what pirates do.

The nation of Sigma is going to begin gathering materials for the production of Airships. Also, all of the infantry (Pirates, but can be called into the army at any time) are given gunblade falchions and a copper shield (No nations are rich, so thats about the best I can give them). Further mining operations will be set up on the northern part of the island, as well as research stations (bonuses need to be negotiated with Archi) which are going to work on steampunk power armour. Being in the sky has allowed many different plants and animals to flourish in the short time the machine has been active, so the local fauna is very different from that of the surface world.

Oooh, I know! Something like The Antikythera Mechanism, except instead of looking at the sky, it makes an entire continent float. And they accidentily unearthed and activated the ancient machine, causing half of Canada to rise out of the ground. There, thats steampunk'd enough.
  13. Seraphi replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
Yeah, I have to agree with you there. We can decide on the other issues when Archi is finished deciding exactly how far we can go with the abuse of physics. Also, yeah, I'm going to say a sudden imbalance of Skystone caused half of Canada to start floating.
  14. Seraphi replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
Yeah, but I just think it's easier if everyone starts off at the same point and then goes from there.

Floating landmasses was sort of what I was thinking of. Maybe like Skystone, from Final Fantasy? Except that it can't be mined or used, and is inert in every way except for the fact that it allows continents to float. I'm creating a flag at the moment. I think that all of the nations should start equal in terms of economic power, so that nobody can claim the USA and instantly become the leader. EDIT: Finished my flag. I'm doing the stuff on paint, since I'm out of sketch paper.

I think I'll actually draw it in real life and then scan it. I'm in the mood to draw something at the moment anyway. The canadians got bored and decided they wanted a floating continent to demonstrate their engineering prowess to the rest of the world. Afterwards, it was taken over by a surprisingly organised group of sky pirates lead by the pirate king Balthazar Firehammer. After a long and bloody struggle, the Canadians gave up trying to get it back, and it declared itself to be an independant country. After a shaky start with Canada, the two soon managed to patch things up with Sigma offering to pay Canada for the land as well as relocating all of the Canadian citizens on the island.

I want a stationary floating continent (I'd say that nobody is allowed to create mobile floating continents, and that stationary continents cannot simply be knocked out of the sky) above where Canada is. Imagine that a large chunk of land was ripped out of the centre of Canada and hovers above the large sea which was left below it. It shall be called the island nation of Sigma. The people are a mix of all the other races in the game, and most of them are involved in crime in one way or another. Mainly piracy. The pirates which inhabit the nation have a strict code of honour though, which is what keeps the peace in a large island full of theives. Being an island nation, their main focus is on airships, with a small land based military and almost no naval presence, save for a few ships in the sea below Sigma. Is everything there alright?

There needs to be moderation of some kind, or else the game will turn to crap, with people saying "I build 10,000 mechanized dolphins with underwater flamethrowers in exactly 1 day and for no cost whatsoever".

Hex, I think you need to calm down. And again, you can put any culture you want into the steampunk setting.
  25. Seraphi replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
There are different kinds of steampunk. Just take a culture from modern times and replace it's technology with steampunk. Also, obviously we're going to be doing impossible things within reason.
