  1. Alright, I assume there will be rules against stupid names? PS, everyone spam my PM box with reminders to make a system list, I forget things like that so easily its unbelievable.
  2. Can you PM this to me so that I can remember to do it as soon as I get home tommorow? Its too late at the moment, sorry. Also, I like the grid idea. have you already got a copy drafted? I guess now the stars can actually be different colours. How many squares will it be for now? 50x50? Mather, I really doubt I would need the NWO. Rocco has about twice as many ships than the two of you combined, and I'm just there for the lulz.
  3. I doubt you could stand up against me and Rocco, with the NWO to back me up IF its nessecery (I'm going to try to try keep the rest of the NWO out, so as not to start a galactic war straight away. Besides, all of us targeting you is overkill anyway.) Please, I've asked before, just change the race and stop coming up with all of these abstract ideas. Yes, you're supposed to think outside the box, but you should have stopped running away from that scary box about 3 million miles ago.
  4. *Sigh* Why does it matter? I think some people are already going to try to kill Hex anyway. Also, Doom, need any help writing up the thread?
  5. FTL Travel, shall we say, halfway through tommorow? 5:00 GMT, or midnight?
  6. There are certain things that are just logical in evolution. Giants made of Tungsten is not one of them.
  7. Just because we eathlings require oxygen it doesn't mean that al races do, for all we know there could be 1 km tall aliens made from tungsten that breathes lead. They would collapse from the sheer weight of their bodies. Not to mention that planet size would kill them off.
  8. On a planet without Oxygen, its unlikely your race could live either. This whole discussion still doesn't make it any more likely that bacteria can be intelligent. *Sigh* I do believe I'll have to step in myself and blow Hex up. Leave some for me, will you Rocco? "Turn over a new leaf" He says. He turned over the same leaf, stamped on it, set it on fire, then continued to use said leaf.
  9. Read my quote again, bacteria can emergancy mutate in order to survive. Alright then, Jeez. I send two ships, one rains salt, the other rains sulphuric acid after they've "Emergency mutated" Or I send in about 500 people with flamethrowers.
  10. 200 degrees would work. Besides, even if they can gain more than one property, the main weaknesses are still there. If they are resistant to heat, they're weak to cold, and can still be destroyed by heat over 150 degrees. Same works for cold resistance. If they're resistant to alkali, they're weak to acid. There is no way this can be changed, really. So yeah, basically, I spray salt over your planet and you die.
  11. I don't understand why the Moon can't just be left as it is. It can't efficiently support human life, since its far too small to ever maintain an atmosphere. Why the big deal over it? If the Moon crashed into the Earth, you may have a few seconds to kiss your [wagon] goodbye before the shockwave destroys everything you love.
  12. No, bacterial evolution does not work like that. It never had worked like that, as far as I'm aware.
  13. Thats....thats not how evolution works.... Also, you survive below that temperature because (I assume) fat reserves insulate you, and you devote a lot of energy to keeping warm. That, or theres a chemical reaction within your body that produces heat.
  14. -25 celsius. Different species of Bacteria will not merge together, they will instead try to kill each other. Therefore, 2 properties maximum, unless you have a few million days left to play this game and evolve.
  15. Extremophiles mean organisms that thrive in some sort of extreme environements, extreme temperatures are one of them, just like high level radiation and strong acids. I know, but for a variety to have multiple properties is quite rare. I would say that he would be allowed to have two of the properties. Heat resistance will only work up to around 150 celsius, acid resistance means they're weak to alkali and vice versa, cold resistance only works to about -25 degrees. Not sure about the pressure resistance. Some have survival properties, growing without much nutrition, growing in very dry locations etc. But, as I said, there are very few varieties with multiple properties, and it will usually only be a mixture of one or two, since to have one which has all of the properties(Or indeed, any more than 2 properties), it would have had to go through a very, very complex evolutionary path, and it probably would have died out along the way due to changing conditions and not gaining a new property fast enough. tl;dr Whichever two resistances he chooses make him that much weaker to the opposite end of that resistance.
  16. From what I have here, most Extremophiles don't fare that well over about 150 Degrees celsius, and I'm pretty sure fire is hotter than that.
  17. Bacteria don't reproduce as fast as you can kill them with fire. Not even close. Okay, screw it, I'll just sit back and let rocco beat some sense into you. I can't be bothered to argue my point anymore.
  18. Both of them would split the being apart, rendering it basically useless. A punch may have been an exagurration, but a shotgun would basically mean instant destruction, probably multiple kills per shot as well. The spread of the projectile means it hits numerous points in the form, meaning it can't maintain stability, due to missing parts. The force from the shell would also kill millions, if not billions of bacteria. Or, somebody could just use a flamethrower and basically annihilate your army. Please, just think of a different race. I'm not doing this because I don't like you, thats a whole other matter, but your race would be so incredibly weak, the moment you enter a war, you'd basically be screwed.
  19. Hex, click your fingers. You have just killed hundereds of bacteria. They are not virtually invulnerable to melee attacks, a solid blow (Railgun shot, shotgun type weapon, a punch .]etc) would kill millions of them and probably split the entire being apart. Honestly, this race isn't very well thought through....
  20. If it is more than super conducting(let's call it omegaconducting) it could use already existing heat to amplify the energy, basicly the opposite of what a conducting material does with the electricity. So, recycling(Redirecting) energy that already exists?
  21. Thats basically creating energy though, isn't it? I mean, making 20 watts of power able to run something that requires 40 watts is creating energy, and what you said is basically the same thing. If thats the case, it just wont work. You can't create/destroy energy, you can only transfer it. Hex, a gun is always more powerful than a melee weapon, due to the range. Why get close to somebody and risk getting killed when you can shoot them from far away. Microchips for bacteria? That would mean you need one microchip per bacteria. AKA. Impossible production rates. Why not just choose a 'normal' race. For all I care it could be a race of five haded squid people who feed off glass, but it would make it a damn sight easier for you to make tech that fits them.
  22. I still don't understand what you mean "Energy amplifying". Does it just allow more energy to be directed, or does it actually multiply the amount of energy? The second one is basically impossible, so I assume its the first?
  23. Do you two have any idea how many bacteria you would need to equal one human mind? Billions upon billions upon billions. The only reasons humans are as intelligent as they are is due to neurons, something which requires specialisation to create, and also something which bacterium don't have. Most of it is possible, but very, very difficult.
  24. Am I allowed to be a sort of virus which only gains intellengance by actully grouping together? Uuuhm....No. Thats just silly. This is another case of bad explination on my part. This has actully happened in real life, It appeared like a small jelly and moved along. That wasn't a virus, and it wasn't intelligent in the slightest. I know what you were talking about, and it was a pile of tubiflex worms.
  25. Am I allowed to be a sort of virus which only gains intellengance by actully grouping together? Uuuhm....No. Thats just silly.
