  1. Thanks for the tip. However, if I used the following equipment would it work? Verac's helm Amulet of fury Proselyte body Strength cape(t) Abyssal whip Rune defender Verac's skirt Dragon boots Explorer's Ring 3 This is give me pretty high prayer bonus, as well as decent defence. I'm really hoping this would replace the need for a Dragonfire shield, but if it doesn't I'll have to replace the Proselyte body with Verac's brassard. In my opinion there isn't any point using this spot unless you at least have a Salve Amulet, otherwise you miss out on a lot of extra damage and accuracy. I am so sorry, I had a total brain fart and stupidly typed Amulet of fury instead of Salve amulet(e). Anyways, my question stands. With the same equipment as I mentioned, replacing the Fury with a Salve amulet(e), would that setup be a good replacement for a Dragonfire shield? Thanks in advance for any reponses, hopefully I won't make any more careless mistakes. :wall:

  3. Great guide, a few touch-ups and it'll be great. I'll have to try this out once I complete 'Defender of Varrock', earning 100k+ xp/h at a profit sounds incredible. However, do you think it is possible for somebody with 99 attack, 99 strength, 98 hitpoints, and 92 defence to survive there using Proselyte, a Rune defender, a Bunyip, and Piety? I'm really hoping you say yes, it'd give me a reason to commit weeks to maxing melee.
  4. Great guide, but I'm curious as to why you recommend a God cape. Wouldn't a Skillcape (t) be a better choice because they have +9 magic defence and +4 prayer. I apologize, I havn't even done Summer's End yet so I have zero experience with the Corporeal Beast. I hope this wasn't a stupid question, but if it was please tell me why. 10/10 =D>
  5. I have noticed some minor typos in your Black Dragons - Meleeing section. You misspelled the word "melee", instead entering "melle" a few times. Minor I know, but its the little things in life that matter. Also, I disagree with your recommended equipment for the same section. In my opinion, a God mitre should be preferred over a Helm of neitiznot because a mitre has +5 prayer, whereas the Helm has +3 prayer and +3 strength. When you're praying constantly, an extra 2 prayer helps more than +3 strength, at least in my experience. Also, I've discovered an even better weapon for meleeing Black dragons with; The Leaf-bladed sword has +67 stab and has whip speed, but a Dragon longsword has +58 stab and, well, longsword speed lol. Not to mention the Leaf-bladed sword can train any combat skill, instead of being forced to train controlled with the Dragon longsword. Furthermore, a skillcape (t) should be preferred over a God cloak because the skillcape (t) has +4 prayer and the cloak has +3. Other than these things, your guide is great. I hope to try out your Red dragons section and will experiment with Brutal green dragons when I have 90 range. 9/10
  6. I'm very impressed with your guide. You have a few spelling errors though, so I highly recommend you read over your guide again, just to get rid of all the obvious typos. For your Black Salamander Method, wouldn't an Abyssal whip + Rune defender be much more effective for Karil and Ahrim plus the KC than the Salamander? Finally, why so many prayer potions? If you intend for each method to do multiple runs say so, and also say how many runs you recommend for each method.
  7. Thanks for the guide, Wraith slaying sounds fun. I'm curious though, do you use range or pure set potions? EDIT: Also, could you post an inventory you recommend for both range and melee, in team and solo? That should improve the quality of your guide a bit.
  8. Great guide, but I do have a few questions. 1) Can you mention how to rebind keys? I'm not very good with computers, so if you could tell me how it would be much appreciated. 2) Do you have to be on high detail for this to work? Other than making runescape look prettier, I don't understand how it could affect whether or not you can use this guide, especially if you use mouse keys. 3) Can you substitute Stunning for Cursing? I've never wanted to cast a few hundred thousand spells, but if your guide makes it this easy I'm sure I could manage. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of the Runescape community. In doing so you make everybody who read this guide a little smarter.
  9. Have people forgotten how to read? He specifically states that you don't need prayer pots, they just add slightly less xp/hr. I assure you, I can read. I just meant that people who want to save a little bit of money will choose to kill Monkey Guards instead. I hope people think that, that way this (ex) secret spot won't get crowded.
  10. Finally, a guide proving that Monkey Guards aren't all they are hyped-up to be. Thank you so much for making this guide, I will definately use this to get 99 strength. BTW, don't delete this guide. Even if this spot becomes popular, there will always be people who choose Monkey Guards over this because they don't need to spend money on Prayer Potions.
  11. I've read your guide a few times now and just noticed it doesn't mention the many uses of a Player-Owned House (POH). A POH is one of the most valuable assests a 'Serious Slayer' can have. At the low Construction level of 55, you can have: -Altar: 45 Construction (Oak). Useful to get full prayer points after a task that you use Protection Prayers. -Mounted Glory: 47 Construction. Located in the Quest Hall. Useful to get to Edgeville Bank fast and the Grand Exchange. -Portal Room: 50 Construction. Kharyll Portal is the most useful because it allows quick access to the Slayer Tower and a nearby bank. -Amour Stand: 55 Construction. Repairs your barrows items at a reduced cost. Cost depends on your smithing level.
  12. Love your guide, I plan on getting 85 slayer soon and will definately follow your guide. You are missing some equipment that is very helpful for slayer tasks though. Dragonfire Shield: Very important because of the huge defence bonuses. It is very expensive (25m), it should be considered a must-have for any "Serious Slayer" who isn't using Guthans. Karil's Leathertop and Leatherskirt: Since it has much better Magic defence than Black d'hide and not that expensive, you really should get it. Berserker/Warrior Ring, Ring of Life: Whenever you don't have a Ring of Wealth equipped, it's expected to have something in your ring slot. Seeing as how both of these have stat bonuses (+4 Strength and +4 Slash, respectively), something is better than nothing. However, a Berserker Ring is 2.9m and Warrior Ring is 450k. If you can't afford either of these items, at least wear a Ring of Life. I also have a question about the equipment you include in your guide: Unholy and Holy books. I believe an Unholy book isn't as helpful for slayer tasks that require prayer because it has significantly lower attack bonuses than a Rune defender. Especially on tasks such as Black Demons and Dark Beasts, you need all the attack you can get. With Aberrant Spectres however, they are a good idea because they don't have that high defence. There's no reason to have a Holy book for Bloodveld tasks. A Mind shield is maybe 2k on the Grand Exchange and it only requires the completion of Elemental Workshop II. This is a very easy quest, and the shield has +9 magic defence, which is 1 more than a Holy book. As I said before, great guide.
  13. I've actually found that killing Dust Devils in the Chaos Tunnels is faster. It's easy to get too, close to a bank, doesn't require partial completion of 'Desert Treasure', and the room is small so the Dust Devils are close together. Otherwise love the guide. I plan on camping at Dust Devils for the crimson charms, and a dragon chainbody wouldn't hurt. :D
