  1. What I really want to see is a guide showing how to do the absolute fastest way to do barrows. I've heard ice barraging w/void is best, but I'd like as detailed an Inventory and Setup as possible. That would be awesome.
  2. I've been reading several guides on both these forums and the RSOF, and nearly all of the Barrows guides are either outdated or focus on maximizing kills per trip rather than kills per hour. So my question is this: What is the best method to maximize chests per hour? I assume Turmoil, Chaotics, and Overloads are necessary, but I need more information like recommended weapon(s), armour, inventory, etc. if I'm going to consider barrowing again.
  3. I recently got enough money for Turmoil as well, but I have a different problem with dragon bones. Just a couple of days before the wilderness was released, I could buy dragon bones pretty easily at market price, 4533 gp. Now I can't. Anybody have any theories on why dragon bones are increasing in price?
  4. Haven't barrowed in awhile, kinda hooked on slayer still (16m xp and counting) but I tried out the combo Ice blitz/burst/barrage + black salamander and it worked really well. Wondering if that's still an option unless Jagex changed something. With that, you had to risk some expensive gear and supplies (Full Guthan, ideally SGS, Staff of light, Ahrim top/bottom, etc.) but could do literally dozens of chests per trip. Method just consisted of freezing every melee brother, then standing diagnolly (no way did I spell that right) from them and attack with the salamander, you can hit them but they can't hit you. You'd also want to kill Karil first, because he'd be the only brother than poses a threat because you should also bring black d'hide or Karils for Ahrim.
  5. Although I've always suspected the aggressive attack style hit just a little bit harder than accurate, I never had the exact numbers. Where did you find this information?
  6. While Armoured zombies with your gear and stats would be great xp, it wouldn't be the best. The fastest melee xp in all of Runescape is killing Monkey skeletons in the Ape Atoll dungeon with Dharoks, Salve amulet(e), Turmoil, and Overloads/Extremes. Although expensive because you'll be praying both Deflect Melee and Turmoil and must use prayer potions, it is extremely fast xp. There is a guide about it on the Archive of Wisdom. EDIT: Using Dharoks, you won't be able to train controlled. If you insist on using a whip, you'll be better at Armoured zombies, but if you say get 99 strength, 99 attack, and 99 defence in that order, you'll save time at Monkey skeletons.
  7. There are only a few reasons I'd quit Runescape for good. 1. Being permanently banned/muted. 2. Being hacked with no chance of recovering my account. 3. If Runescape became advanced enough that my ancient computer and dial-up internet couldn't support the game.
  8. I'm far from an inexperienced slayer (level 99 with 15.7m xp and counting), but after reading your guide I'm questioning a major part of my slayer gear that I've literally used for years; my Dragon dagger (p++). In the special weapons section of your guide, you mention how it has lower DPS than a whip. Therefore, would I get more kills per hour if I simply stopped using my Dragon dagger altogether and only used my whip for slayer tasks? Next question: You rank Korasi's sword as better than the Dragon dagger (p++), but then go on to say that it has lower DPS than a Chaotic rapier. Would it then have a higher DPS than a whip, making it the best special attack weapon if one cannot afford Dragon claws? Thanks for you advice.
  9. I actually enjoy this task, because it's one of the few that Kuradel assigns that is actually a challenge. Having a DFS is a huge help on this task, otherwise you're stuck with a Body/Mind/Elemental shield. Use your best melee defence armour and bring a War tortoise full of food, plus bunyip after the tortoise runs out. However, you may need to do a couple of trips for this task. Or if you want money, bring two tortoise pouches, filling up the tortoise you have with bones as you also empty it of food. Or just skip the task, not that big a deal and understandable considering your stats. They aren't low, but Wyverns are ridiculously easy w/ 95+ melees and Soul Split.
  10. Slayer equipment you should have at your level: MELEE Full slayer helmet Amulet of fury Guthan/Torag/Dharok platebody, Karil's top/Black d'hide body, Proselyte body Verac's plateskirt, Karil;'s skirt/Black d'hide chaps, Proselyte legs Abyssal whip, Zamorakian spear Rune defender, Anti-dragon shield Dragon boots Berserker ring/Warrior's ring Fire cape/Soul wars cape/Skillcape (t)/Ardougne cloak 3 RANGED Full slayer helmet Amulet of fury/Amulet of ranging Black d'hide body Black d'hide chaps Rune c'bow/Crystal bow Broad-tipped bolts Unholy book, Anti-dragon shield Snakeskin boots Archer's ring Ava's accumulator MISC. SUPPLIES Dwarf cannon, 5k+ cannonballs Super sets Prayer potions Antifire potions Summoning potions Monkfish, Cavefish/Sharks Bunyip pouches Get these items and you should be set for slayer.
  11. Dragon armour is a waste of money, Bandos is the best gear but it doesn't make THAT big of a difference while slaying. Invest in a Verac plateskirt, Guthan/Torag/Dharok platebody, Berserker ring, and then get a fire cape and soul wars cape. You could buy Dragon claws because the special attack is devastating on slayer monsters, but a Ddp++ is still quite good, and a fraction of the price. Otherwise, I'd strongly suggest you use the extra money on prayer potions so you can use at least Superhuman strength on every task, and use any extra money for Barrows repairs, food/potions, and training the expensive combat skills (herblore, summoning, prayer, magic).
  12. Should definately buy Karils, Zerker ring, Zamorakian spear, and get a Fire cape. After that the best ways to increase your kills per hour would be to improve your slaying technique. Use at least Superhuman strength for all tasks, minimize time wasted between kills and picking up drops, and be sure to always use Super sets for all tasks.
  13. Until you get 68 summoning for a bunyip, you should get full Guthan, it's what I used for a long time before Summoning was released. Concerning Hellhounds, melee; Ranged is slayer than melee on every slayer task.
  14. I have some limited Tormented Demon hunting experience, but have never been very good at it. My best trip took 45 minutes, I used a Unicorn Stallion and followed Artemis' guide on the AoW. However, I do have 99 summoning, and have heard great things about using a Steel Titan at Tormented Demons. My question is this: What equipment/inventory should I use? Stats: 99 Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints, Ranged, Summoning 96 Magic 71 Prayer Thank you in advance.
  15. Wow. Incredible guide, all the information is neatly presented, well organized, and accurate. The only advice I could give you is to keep this guide up to date, and this may become the best slayer guide on the internet.
  16. I'd personally suggest String Jewellery, that was what I used for 90-96 magic. With current prices, your only expense is two Astral runes (assuming you've completed Summer's End and are able to sell gold jewellery to the Rogue).
  17. I have some experience Dharoking Abyssal Demons, and according to Qeltar, Dharoking is faster than basic melee (w/o prayer, w/ whip + defender). After earning 500k xp in both defence and strength from Dharoking, I must say it is a fun method, in my opinion more fun than meleeing with a whip. Hitting 600s is simply more enjoyable than hitting consecutive 300s, and Dharoking Abyssal Demons is also fairly easy. With two super sets and 11 Strawberry baskets, I was able to last for approximately 90 mins. before running out of supplies. However, using a Saradomin sword with prayer is both quicker, and overall more profitable because you are able to get more kills per hour. Since you cannot afford both a Fury and Sara sword, I'd recommend buying a Sara sword. It is faster exp per hour, and at Abyssal demons you don't need the extra defence a Fury provides. As to what prayer you should use, I'd recommend at least using Superhuman strength, but if you are able to flick prayers, Piety is the way to go. As said before, there is no reason to use Guthans at Abyssal demons if you are able to summon a Bunyip. Also, if you do choose to use prayer, I'd also suggest investing in a Verac's plateskirt for the added prayer bonus, and with your stats you should be able to complete Nomad's Requiem for the Soul wars cape.
  18. With maxed melees, 99 ranged, and 99 summoning, I finally defeated Nomad with a SGS. Without a Godsword, I'd have to say Whip + DFS > Whip + Defender > Leaf-bladed sword.
  19. Black dragons are weak to stab, so a LBS would be better than an Abyssal whip: less strength, but the increased accuracy more than makes up for it.
  20. Black dragons are weak to stab, so a LBS would be better than an Abyssal whip: less strength, but the increased accuracy more than makes up for it.
  21. The best special weapon is Dragon claws, but since I'm too cheap for them I use my trusty Enhanced Excalibur. Can't complain with 200 lp every couple of minutes.
  22. Personally, I have a lot of fun with Magers. I simply throw on my Karils, and sick my Steel Titan on them. For you, range gear and Seercull is your best bet.
  23. Although I'm still quite a ways from 80 dungeoneering, I plan on purchasing a Gem bag, Arcane stream necklace, Scroll of life, followed by a Chaotic rapier and eventually a Chaotic maul. The Chaotic longsword is a good general purpose weapon, but the Rapier is better than the CLS for everything besides Solo bandos and Sara GWD, and the Maul is better than the CLS for Sara GWD.
  24. I read on the RSOF a while ago that unless you can make over 2m gp an hour and have 99 prayer, Proselyte is more efficient to use than Bandos. Otherwise, it'd be more reasonable on most tasks regarding both cost and inventory space to wear Proselyte.
  25. How'd you get 75 dungeoneering if you have dial-up? I too have dial-up internet ( :wall: AOL), so the only option I have is solo because there is no chance somebody with my pathetic dungeoneering will find a decent team, and all my friends already have a Chaotic weapon. Since you "mostly solo", what kind of xp/hr rates do you get? I really want a Chaotic rapier since I'm in the same boat as you; Dial-up = No Boss Hunting = No reason for a Chaotic longsword.
