  1. I approve. Not as good as Souvlaki, but still very enjoyable.
  2. Efterklang - Towards the Bare Hill
  3. That would be Don't Trust Me, their most popular song. I guess most people on these forums don't like them much but being an 18 year old from New York, I come from a different background than most of the people on these forums [/generalization] Oh don't worry they're all metalheads here who can't comprehend other styles of music. It's alright, haven't listened to them but they're the same as Brokencyde or what? I'll check them out and be posting here soon again :). Nah, they're not really like Brokencyde but they appeal to the same demographic.
  4. Rap

[bleep] yeah. I quite like the shoegaze/industrial hip-hop of Dalek. Nas released a couple of nice albums too. I used to be into 50 Cent and stuff when I was younger [i grew up in a hip-hop trend; 50 Cent and Eminem]; but I haven't really listened to any hip-hop in a while now.
  5. It's a shame that avant-garde progressive metallers maudlin of the Well broke up. Kayo Dot [their new band] just doesn't evoke as much emotion in me as motW did. I mean, it's all good, but it's not as powerful as their previous project. Although, this being said, I think a breakup or at least a drastic change of style was necessary because there was no way in hell that they could top Bath and Leaving Your Body Map. - DISREGARD THAT I SUCK [roosters]. They're going into the studio. I would've liked them to have kept touring for a few years though. Another one is shoegazers My Bloody Valentine. Although Kevin Shields has just released Loveless again and they're playing a handful of concerts here and there, they're not really an active band anymore. They probably won't release any new material because they [read] know that they won't be able to better Loveless. Again, to summarise: a necessary breakup, but I'm happy that they're playing a few gigs here and there this year.
  6. LOL SO HARDCOAR xD! [And it just proves that RAtM has a bad effect on teenagers.] But seriously, if the people complaining don't have the decency to turn their music OFF or BUY HEADPHONES then I would say that they are.

    Amended for accuracy.
  8. Disillusion - The Hole We Are In
  9. Haha Brokencyde are goofy [bleep]ers. The Pineapple Thief - Different World

OP has quite clearly never been drunk in his life.
  11. Kinda catchy, but yeah, they blow. Not as bad as Brokencyde though.
  12. In addition to trombone, other brass and percussion, I play this: and this: Although the Pacifica is nowhere near the sound I like, the Telecaster is absolutely spot on.
  13. #7 - Dark City, Dead Man
  14. Bloc Party Silent Alarm #11 - Luno

Groove metal is simply mid-tempo metal with thrash riffs that use low tunings, such as Meshuggah and Machine Head.
  16. I realised that I need to buy some more CDs, so I ordered: I'm from Barcelona - Let Me Introduce My Friends Suburban Kids with Biblical Names - #3 Sigur Rós - Agaetis Byrjun, Takk..., Med sud i eyrum vid spilum endalaust Porcupine Tree - Stars Die: The Delerium Years, In Absentia Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die (£19!!) among probably a few others that I forgot. Should be coming in Friday or next Monday.
  17. Kalmah haha I have a metalhead. I never really know what to recommend seeing as most of them listen to the same metal as I do. You could try Cult of Luna though. Not really metal, but highly emotional and inspiring.
  18. I am known as the cute intellectual who listens to indie pop and Sigur Rós.
  19. It's fun to read through this and see how much musical trends have changed over the years. Architecture in Helsinki - It'5!
  20. Actually, nowadays a lot of people don't consider SOAD in the nu-metal genre considering how there is no rapping (a couple hip-hop beats now and then). Well this is the first I've heard about it. SoaD (as much as I dislike them) don't really fit the general consensus for a nu-metal band. They're more like hard rock with overly political and outspoken lyrics. Oh, and BYOB is the most annoying song ever. Nadril: Bathory Cyco: Slayer
  21. Listening to loud music at loud volumes = goodbye high frequencies.
  22. Sigur Rós - Milanó
  23. I love that album so much. One of the first rock records I listened to. Porcupine Tree - Hatesong
