  1. I would like it if this one could be indexed. Done. ~Romy
  2. I think nu-metal was a bit earlier than that. You're looking more towards mid-to-late nineties and it kind of fell out of style in about 2001. Otherwise, yes (in the mainstream). Overall the 00s have been a better decade for music than the two before it combined, in my opinion.
  3. Started Mushishi earlier. It's simply incredible.
  4. I'm always down for some Led Zeppelin and Kyuss. The others, not so much.
  5. Give it a couple of years and people will start complaining about how much better music was last decade.
  6. Your musical compatibility with Wizzk is Very Low Music you have in common includes The Beatles. Your musical compatibility with DanceFunkyDisco is Very Low Music you have in common includes Agalloch, Dream Theater and Dio. Your musical compatibility with SkullEmblem is Very Low Music you have in common includes Shing02. Your musical compatibility with Apercachoor is Very Low Music you have in common includes Pink Floyd. I'm sad. ;_;
  7. Good to know it worked.

To be honest, I don't really remember. I think I started checking out indie rock/shoegaze bands from Japan in late 2008/early 2009 and the interest sort of grew. I found out about Nujabes from browsing Last.fm and RateYourMusic and then I got into Shing02, Shin-Ski and so on. At first (before I started learning Japanese) I was all "well, I won't understand it, so I won't like it"; I was wrong and I ended up enjoying it just as much as the non-Japanese music I was listening to at the time.
  9. Yep. Try this and report back.

The humidity here is killing me. Also, my Irish genes can't handle sunlight so I burn awfully if I'm outside for more than ten minutes. The clear skies here are stunning, though.
  11. Neither did I apart from the bit about misclassification. How did I miss the irony. Also post-hardcore and screamo are vaguely similar but there's quite a definite distinction between them to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ_zAuxaDRc Post-hardcore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIV2cBa8yiU Screamo. Not to be an arse or anything but they are really not much alike underneath what you'd find in your local music shop. Post-hardcore is typically closer to alternative/noise/indie rock whereas screamo tends to be closer to old-school hardcore punk, albeit extended and more metallic.
  12. Ugh. This thread already. Is the concept of genres so hard to grasp for some of you? They're not intended to make you sound like an elitist, but they are there for a very good reason. They are there to aid in classification - and when bands such as The Used get misclassified, it leads to this whole war between "true" and "false" screamo fans; the same applies to metal or just about any genre that branches out widely. Usually, it's not the fault of the fans but the fault of the music press - most mainstream music magazines and publications have zero clue of what they're actually talking about and it leads to all this bulls**t that I would assume most of you hate. Genres are not even hard to get right so these publications and critics that should full-well know what they're talking about have no excuses. And no, any music where the singer screams is not necessarily screamo. Sigh, Darkthrone and even Muchuumu are not screamo bands.
  13. Thank you.
  14. I find Logitech mice uncomfortable because they don't fit in my hand properly. If you prefer flatter, claw-grip mice, get a Razer.
  15. You could check out Boogiepop Phantom, but it would probably be really weird to anyone who hasn't read any of the novels. It's a similar sort of style to those, though. I should really get back to watching Texhnolyze.
  16. Yep. Applies to most things similar, too. No wonder most ~normal~ people over the age of about fourteen think anime is gay.
  17. Yep. The paste that comes with the stock heatsink will be fine. All AMD processors do come with it applied.
  18. 5770 with an i7 is going to be painful. Why? The 5770 is a mid-range card; the 930 is a very high-end consumer processor. You're probably going to get some bottlenecking that would be reasonably noticeable in games that push your system, assuming you're not playing at 1024x768. You can't crossfire two different cards. It's enough to run the system but you probably won't get much out of it in terms of expandability. It's fine. Just make sure the timings and clock speeds are the same. Overclocking prebuilts is a bad idea. If you're so intent on a gaming PC, then, why don't you build your own? I think you could build something that would perform better in games for $100/200 less. It's not like it's a hard task and it's almost impossible to go wrong when you're doing it. I'm not saying that there's much wrong with the PC you've shown us, but you've mentioned expandability and overclocking. I think you would want to build your own if you need either of those things.
  19. Haven't seen it myself, but most people would say films before SAC. I heard the dubs were alright as well.
  20. I shed a single tear over episode 9 of Aria the Origination. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4JO7wFvOxM
  21. I don't know, man. I've used the current application of AS5 on my heatsink for over a year now and I've noticed a very minimal temperature increase. I'll probably re-apply later this year anyway, but I can't say that anything bad has happened. I can definitely see where you're coming from though.
  22. Nero's Day at Disneyland - Probably End Up Dead in a Ditch Somewhere
  23. Spangle call Lilli line - canaria
  24. Still haven't watched Eva mostly because I've not been in the mood for something like it. I'll get onto it though. Aria the Origination is beautiful. It's so refreshing to watch something like Aria when most anime nowadays is almost unwatchable. I used to love all that harem stuff but I can't even watch it anymore. Cute slice-of-life is still great but stuff like Toradora and Clannad are just gross. I don't even mind drama and I think it can be used as a good plot element but stuff like that is just overboard. Gonna watch Mushishi next, then Kurenai, then Black Lagoon, then Planetes. Then maybe Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei after that. I'm so behind on anime watching, ugh.
