  1. I don't really hate it [Angel Beats] like /a/ does; in fact I don't even hate it at all, it's just silly. B Gata gives me cheap laughs so I would feel bad about calling it terrible. K-ON is K-ON, really. Maid-sama is awesome though. Just watched episode 3 and that confirmed that I do like it. Was pretty unsure for the first two episodes so yeah.
  2. This season, summarised: Angel Beats: (pretty) dumb. B Gata: dumb but funny. K-ON!!: just plain dumb yet awesome. Kaichou: wow an actually good show.

    Hip Hop & Rap

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcnlgHgB0Xc&feature=related I have a real thing for good hip-hop in foreign languages because I feel a lot of them flow better than English. This is O.S.T.R. from Poland - his first two albums are some real good stuff, but I think this is from a later album. He is very popular in Poland as they're one of the only countries in Europe that still favours hip-hop and metal over pop and rock. I can only understand a bit of it, unfortunately. :< http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjqTiQhOgU8 RIP.

  5. Whoa, all of you guys saying your parents won't let you go to concerts makes me appreciate how easygoing mine are. A Place to Bury Strangers are playing here in May and I'm thinking I should probably go. I'll see.
  6. I think most cards, especially nVidia models, are built to withstand heat. For example, mine idles at 75C and has idled at that since just after I owned it. Never had a single problem with it. Would still recommend a 9600GSO/GT fully though, nothing like the 8600 that came before it. Very good price/performance.
  7. I don't really think it's like being high. Try it and see for yourself though, the experience varies a lot between people.
  8. Been trying (unsuccessfully) for a while now. Tried earlier today and it felt entirely different to the past times I tried - I think I got incredibly close to drifting off. I truly felt as if I were transcending into a completely different plane of consciousness and I was fully aware that I was doing it; it was pretty amazing in my opinion. Will give it another try later and see if I can finally pull it off.
  9. Think he would want more power than a 220/240; for gaming you should probably be looking at something closer to a 250 minimum. I dunno, maybe a 240 would pass if you wanted to play at something like 1024x768 or possibly 1280x1024 at a mix of medium/high settings, but hardly anyone uses either of those resolutions any more. Definitely don't get a 220 though, it's aimed at HTPCs. I'm using an older 8800GTS and it's still going strong performance-wise - I could max TF2 with a consistent framerate if my CPU wasn't a slight bottleneck. It gets hot though and I'm not talking about 50-60C, it's closer to 85 under load. I'd say look into a 9000-series nVidia such as a 9600GSO/GT; those would probably go perfectly with a 7550 seeing as it's only two levels under my CPU. If you want to spend more, look into a GTS250.

    Today...

Woke up a couple of hours ago. I think I went to bed around 4pm, but I don't have any conscious memory of doing so. I was intending to stay up and fix my sleep pattern, but I must have felt pretty rotten and ended up going to bed. My PC was switched off, so I guess I did consciously go.
  12. I cannot play Soldier for the life of me. I'm more of a Medic/Engineer/Pyro Well most people have a really predictable movement pattern (or they're dumb and run right into your line of fire) and not to mention most players will always take the same path to wherever your team is. It's mostly about reacting before a] they start shooting or b] they notice you or c] they move past you and take you out from the side or behind. You're slow and your weapon takes ages to reload, so aim carefully. Also it's good to know when to switch to the shotgun - people who wait to reload their rockets in combat are silly; in the time it took you to do that, you could've switched to the shotgun and actually been of use to your team. I thought that was just basic instinct and common sense in all FPS games, team-based or not, but I guess I was wrong. The Direct Hit is apparently faster but it has a pretty big drawback of almost no splash so it probably wouldn't be so useful to me. I'll try it when I get it. Oh and yeah, if your connection latency is high (and by that, I mean above 150ms) you'd be better suited to playing another class anyway. Not that you can't play soldier still, but don't expect to be good at it. Personally, I found it to be the easiest class to pick up and so did most of my TF2-playing friends but yeah, the format of soldier isn't for everyone. Good that you play medic though, there's never ever enough of those; especially not when I need one.

    Hip Hop & Rap

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68_Io-RPDXE Jay Dee was an incredible producer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bsl44gJAPY Obligatory for any hip-hop thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWkOVJxn_YM Political hip-hop from Finland; basically it's rapping over Balkan folk music.
  14. Started playing again; I'm pretty suck right now, but I'm getting better every time I play. Picked up soldier within two rounds on 2fort and that's what I'm playing now. Never really thought about it before, but this game really suits me to a point. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Ruerin this is my Steam if you want to add me. I don't sleep much so if I'm on, I might be up for a game.
  15. I know, right. I'm always on Steam though, so hit me up there. also lmao some kid thinks my eyes are "far apart"

  16. Oh, didn't see the above reply.
  17. God damn. This is the second time. I can see some sort of resemblance though, definitely. It's the hair. Also yeah, I've aged. ;-; I think the longer hair and different clothes contribute though.
  18. I think he's quite right. My ASUS monitors were good for the money (picture-wise), but within a week I had stuck pixels and eventually dead pixels on one (which I got refunded for) and within 2 months, the backlight on the other one started flickering. I figured it wasn't worth the battle a second time and took a look myself; loose connection. I patched that up and it worked for another two months, but suddenly the backlight bleed intensified and the flicker became far worse; really shoddily made but YGWYPF. I've recommended ASUS a few times here (in this very thread!) and I will never recommend them again after those. Not what I would call well-made at all. It's a shame because the actual picture quality on them was brilliant but the build just didn't live up to it. Long story short, I took a gamble and lost. That's life.

    Electronic Music

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoMgx9INDwc Very yes.
  20. HD playback isn't so hard on a netbook if you use a software decoder, rather than relying on hardware. If you use CoreAVC and have an ION GPU in your netbook, you can use CUDA which will be faster still. CoreAVC + MPC-HC - only way to go about HD (H.264) video playback on Windows. There's no need to spend so much on an Alienware when you can do exactly the same thing on something that costs far less.
