Some people most likely genuinely enjoy RuneScape and other MMOs. The "waste of time" theory can be applied to almost every videogame ever. Everything is completely fine in moderation, hell, it's even alright to pull an all-nighter playing a game every now and again. It doesn't instantly make you some kind of social outcast. Today I felt pretty rough, so I took a few naps here and there and I'm feeling sort of decent now.

I was laughing about this on IRC when it was first "announced." Jokes were made about what we were going to do now we had 1.26ms less in a day. Yeah, I don't particularly care much.

You don't. I've put a fair amount of time into learning Japanese and have most of the basics down; but the most I use it for? Translating captions on pictures or reading through Japanese websites. Possibly the biggest waste of time in my life, seeing as I had no intention of going to Japan. It's not that it's difficult; grinding kanji is just incredibly tedious and I don't have the patience for it. I thought it would "open up" a new level of stuff regarding my interests but it hasn't and probably won't for a few years. (I read a chapter of an untranslated manga and it took me six hours.) Anyway, I took both French and German during school. I would say that my German is quite fluent if I take it slowly and try not to get ahead of myself. My French writing is quite good, but I find speaking it to be awkward in comparison to German. I had a lot of free lessons where I would sit and study French and German just for self-satisfaction. Unfortunately, I've gone downhill with them since I've left school, but I can still piece stuff together if I'm careful. I would like to learn Finnish, Polish, Gaeilge and Italian in the future, and maybe Danish or Norwegian if I ever feel like it. Best of luck to those wishing to learn more languages!

Satisfied XFX user here. I've had no problems with my 8800GTS ever, apart from the fact that the G80 chip runs hot. Going to be picking up a VaporX 5770 in the coming months, anyway. I've never used an XFX ATi card, so the story may be different there. The build is pretty decent overall, but the graphics card could struggle a little at anything over 1680*1050 game depending. Don't expect to run anything brand new maxed out. If you're just playing Source games, you should be set. Also, Home Premium is sufficient.

Don't underestimate the amount of data you will need. Gaming consumes minimal bandwidth, but you can quite easily rack up between 150 and 300MB of usage per day by browsing alone. Even if you're only going to be playing RuneScape, checking email and using Facebook, I would recommend paying for 2GB as an absolute minimum. That way, you'll have some kind of safety net if you do go over your 1GB. NetMeter is a useful tool to check how much bandwidth you're using. Download the second file on that list if you're interested.

Maybeshewill - Accept and Embrace Sing the Word Hope is definitely better than Not for Want of Trying.

Technical skill and musical ability alone do not make a musician.

Spangle call Lilli line is a pretty bad name, but it's so catchy.

I have a worse background than this kid and people don't like me because of it. I guess I could make myself like this ~ironically~.

A disappointing number of Opera users. I expected there to be a few more so we could have something like a little Opera users club.

Opera. I've used all of the major web browsers, but Opera remains my absolute favourite. I've been using it for about a year and a half now.

...and I just realised I worded my post terribly up there, making me look stupid. What I meant to say was "for the average end-user, there is no reason to specifically go for Intel over AMD." My Athlon X2 7750 is a pretty nice CPU and it has served me well for over a year now, gaming and all.

I've lost my anime spark. I have only really ever kind of sort of liked anime anyway, but I've got no enthusiasm at all any more. The more I tell myself to watch anime, the less inclined I am to actually do so. I guess I shall just amble through something relaxing, like the third season of Aria. Eeeh.

Your average end-user is hardly going to notice any difference.

You are quite good for your age, but the lack of maturity does show. You've definitely got the potential to really grow up and write fantastic lyrics; my biggest criticism right now is that they are all kind of samey, and some of them are quite cliché and cheesy. I think if you changed up your themes and styles a little more, you would really be on the path to becoming a decent lyricist. Keep it going.

Heh, really? I didn't know this. Well, I sometimes get people asking me to say things in Japanese if they know that I can speak it, somewhat; but I wouldn't term it "impressive" by any means. I can't think of a more productive way to spend time if you're not a social person other than learning a language, playing an instrument or reading - let's face it, some people are never social even if they try to be; I think trying to be social often causes more insecurity than actual positive cognitive advances. Maybe people aren't quite as easily impressed here. I never really get a chance to use Japanese offline anyway, so I tend to get all nervous and completely cloud over when someone asks me to say something.

Learn russian! Then, shout randomly at people in the streets. Slavic languages are tame. People are going to know you're speaking some form of "Russian." He should learn something unusually niche like Estonian and use that instead. I feel like I am missing a reference.

MONO - Com(?) A contender for the best post-rock song ever, maybe.
