  1. Also, you can't really compare them due to the fact that the only commonality is that they're both fiction Note: I do realize I quoted myself. Sorry if I just crushed a great barb Harry Potter is REAL. :( I was waiting for my letter to go to Hogwarts when I was 11... The year before I was waiting for my Pokemon Licence. Weren't we all lol.....oh the dreams :D
  2. Well thank you for sharing with us. Before I begin, I'd like to point out that you came here for help, and that's what you'll get. Unless someone decides to give you a semi-humurous sarcastic remark. But that doesn't happen here. True gurus will help all, not just those who need it most. Needing help is needing help, no need to humble yourself. Pleasantries asside: She doesn't seem to apreciate your existance much. I believe "F" was this girl, and some other girl is the one you're looking to befriend. Correct? I'm sure there are more ways of meeting with the friend-girl (from now on, let's call her "A"). For instance, waiting for "A" to show up near where "F" always does, isn't working. Now obviusly you can't know "F" 's schedule with out a bit of stalking, so here is a bit of a solution: Next time you see "A" - have a very interesting conversation ready. Really just take command of the atmosphere and be confident and friendly and he like. Ask her for her number so that you may do something or hang out or whatever. I realize this is how you pick up girls for the most part, but you can pick up friends the same way basically. (in fact in this case you WANT the friend zone). You don't have to worry about attraction and all of that, literally just be yourself. Get her numbere so you can meet her where "F" isn't. Sorry that took such a long time for such a simple answer ^^; Sorry, "A" is the one I'm already friends with. "F" is the other girl. Thanks anyway though. I tired the number thing before (forgot to mention it)...it failed. Probably should just leave her alone
  3. Crazy story but please bear with it Note: I am in a single sex school (no jokes please). "F" is in a mixed school. Also, I am 15 and have had limited contact with girls who are roughly my own age. Never gone on a date etc etc, Probably a common story so I'll leave it at that Situation: I would like to be friends with this girl who lives across the road (just friends). They may seem odd but meh...don't care. That or a tleast have a chance to make friends with her. I talked to her once and we seemed to get along ok, then she started thinking I was stalking her simply because I was waiting for a different friend of mine, and F (as I will call the girl I am asking about) saw me, thought I was waiting for her as she walked home from school, spread a rumour around my school that I am a stalker (probably accidentally). Ok, I can deal with it. I decided to explain that I wasn't stalking her, I apologized if it may have seemed that way to her. I left her alone for around 2 weeks, to hopefully get her to understand that I don't wait for her. Then one day I met her again, we talked a bit and she said that I had been waiting for her again. I don't even remember "waiting" for her, but I'm not going to even try explaining that to her again (yes, I defended myself once...she didn't listen). It has now been around a month since I last tried to talk to her. Ok, so if you've read this far, thanks. I realise people probably have bigger problems than me here so please don't think of this as major. "Gurus" should help those who need it most first...in my opinion. Thanks again, glad nobody on here actually knows me :

Pretty vague. Doesn't really spark discussion *looks at page number* Well, looks to me like it has sparked discussion :P Can anyone recommend me a few good books on personality psychology? It's been interesting me lately. Damn my inability to see numbers and to register what they mean
  6. WWIII nearly happened...stupid Cold War Anyway, reduce Nukes, destroy the plans...maybe then itty bitty countries like Ireland won't get caught in the crossfire (I'm Irish)
  7. Haven't read or seen Twilight so I base my answer on the storylines No-brainer, HP wins hands down. I feel like murdering Meyers for the high expectations people will have from now on....damn Edward

Pretty vague. Doesn't really spark discussion However, yes I read Conn Iggulden (Emporer series, and that Genghis khan one-I'm too lazy to check) James Patterson (Maximum Ride is going downhill from no.4, Alex Cross is good, Black Market suck...to name a few) Tom Clancy (Rainbow Six is good, Op Center-call to treason not so much) Read David Gemmell for a while Raymond E. Feist (same as above) More authors whose names I do not remember
  9. We have a topic? Apparently we do, although it could be argued that we ARE in "off topic" and one could twist that to mean you can talk about anything, anywhere on this forum at any time. I have nothing more to say, for now :?
  10. So like Swine flu? Or bird flu? Anyway, I'm scared of dogs....
  11. I make a habit of sending very official looking emails under a company name to the roots of those kinda chain letters

Thought this was the off topic version..... Anyway, today I went to school, sat 2 exams (Irish and Geography)....came home, played a little Oblivion and wii fit then went on MSN and tip it.... Also, ate and the other...everyday stuff  and that's my entire day in a few short sentences
  13. Thanks for all the help
  14. I'd have done the exact same thing
  15. passed.....no problem, but I too felt like destroying the speakers
  16. Well, that obviously means I shouldn't touch Dell with a barge pole
  17. Stay away from Dell! I was going to anyway...but thanks for those words of wisdom
  18. The big one is the gaming ability, if you need/want it it will cost more. Which games are you thinking of? Also budget and country would be a massive help Ok Ireland, budget 980 euro And thanks for the help
  19. Thanks I want to buy one....but I want to know what I'd need on it (like RAM, graphics card etc.) Sorry if I didn't give enough info. My budget is at the moment 980 euro The reason I want to know what I'd need is because I'm trying to see if I could the same for cheaper
  20. This will be my first time getting a laptop so I want to ask what you think I should have on it Basically, I want to be able to play most games. Wi-Fi (never mind, I've heard they all have it  ) At least 2gb memory (again never mind) Hard drive: help me Wireless (probably on all laptops now) And capable of lasting a while without being plugged in to recharge battery I want to be able to download GIMP (You know the GNU Image thing) you know what that means Possibly Sony Vegas And if possible, save photos to CD/DVD (speaking of which any help on that would be appreciated, I don't know how to do it!) Budget: 980 euros Country: Ireland (as someone went and found out  ) Also, this is my first thread, so please bear with me. I'm relatively new here

A lot of people have figured it out....but unfortunately the majority have been brainwashed into thinking its great and thus won't hear a word against it
  22. Rap

    Horatio666 replied to xlippsx's topic in Off-Topic
I don't really get rap...it's not my type of thing I guess
  23. Gran Torino....Great film, could find nothing to fault with it. Clint's swan song is a good one
  24. Horatio666 replied to saif's topic in Off-Topic
Sorry about that, I really shouldn't repeat what other people say about it.....I have yet to read the books so really I can't say much, just my opinions. Now that was a bit low and I regret saying it (not because you've said I was wrong). I will however point out that I too would be terrified if someone told me I was their life (not a girl though so it doesn't really apply, nor am I gay so if anyone says anything like that they have serious problems in my opinion) and that whoever does play Bella has no skill at changing her facial expression The whole Edward thing also, just my opinion, will give give teenager a very high expectation of their boyfriends.....which let's face it guys can't live up to. And I feel sorry for the girl who is let down like that Oh yeah, thanks for putting the question in a civilized way....rather than YOU ARE SO (swear word) WRONG YOU (swear word followed by word given to people who are developmentally delayed)
