  1. Yeah I posted a while ago quit playing a little after that, and now that I'm back I got B2P thanks again to your guide =) Iv'e found that the best way to make money is by buying and reselling infinity boots, and that this is the best guide ever
  2. Yeah they might just be using the clan chat to be able to communicate easier, and not using LS just because thats how they want to do it. And you would enforce the FFA rules by getting a team, just that you choose not to use the LS / CS rules to split up the loot.
  3. It might be wise to swap only the items you know you would lose (i.e. if you would have a berserker ring protected through item protect + 3 standard, swap the zamorak spear, and if you would keep both swap something else, and if you would keep neither swap the one with the higher value etc...) because in some of those pictures you would keep items that were lent to you when it wouldn't matter if you kept or lost it. That might be a bit confusing so: If you would keep an item when you died don't swap that one, swap one you know you would lose.
  4. total I have 7 with 65 so I rate you 1/10 =p, mostly this specific occurance is rare not the actual seed, although the seed is nice later on for high lev farming training.
  5. I can do ya one better, one spirit and one mage in 3 seeds =) but no pic and I was doing something so didn't post, and it wasn't from chopping trees...
  6. Yeah I suppose, bad analogy, but I think my raven egg proof is much stronger =p
  7. Well I might just go make an photobucket account really fast and get it over with... one sec
  8. Not sure, but if so then nice! Edit: My evidence to be not sure is: When you chop a log theres a 1/x chance of getting a seed nest, 1/y ring 1/z sara egg 1/a zammy egg 1/b guthix egg 1/c raven egg 1/d of getting nothing, when I chopped 6 that made it a 6/x chance of getting that seed nest for you 6/c. c > x making c rarer, but, c is always a raven egg, whereas when you open x, the game does another spin of the wheel and theres a 1/s of spirit seed 1/m magic seed etc... so: The chance of getting a spirit seed out of a nest in 6 logs: (6/x) * (1/s) where x is the chance of getting a seed nest, and s is the chance of getting a spirit seed out of a nest. The chance of getting a raven egg out of a nest in y logs: (y/r) where y is the number of logs you cut and r is the chance of getting a raven egg out of a nest. If there is a 1 in 1000 chance of getting a seed nest, and a 1/500 chance of getting a spirit seed (from my woodcutting experience, even with a rabbit's foot necklace which I did not use in this case) Then the probability of getting a spirit seed in my case is: 6/1000 * 1/500 = Chance of Spirit seed in 6 logs = .000012 whereas the probability of a raven's egg after y logs where y = 6 in this case, and lets say 1/5000 is the chance for a ravens egg, then: 6 / 5000 = Chance of ravens egg in 6 logs = .0012 In these terms, the probability for a ravens egg would have to be 1/500000 (or .000012) to equal the probability for the above situation. -OR- The probability for a seed nest would have to be 1/10 to equal the probability for a ravens nest with a 1/5000 probability.
  9. W/e bad rate all you want, delete/lock this if you want =p I just thought this deserved a post because it is an extremely rare string of events resulting in a fairly good reward. Armadyl Hilts might be worth more, but I'm not comparing the Spirit seed's value to the Armadyl hilt's value am I? I am comparing the probabilities solely, and.... yep. Thanks for reading =)
  10. BTW I only cut 8 oak logs, after the 6th was the nest on the way over here lol. I might actually calculate the probability if I can get some numbers.
  11. If this forum is called "Rate This! (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)" and you just got an Armadyl hilt to drop from GWD and happen to not have an imageshack acc or photobucket acc or whatever and posted it on here, is that not a great achievement in its own right? The probability of getting an Armadyl hilt is about 1/250 and the probability of this happening is much lower... Just because there is no screenshot does not make this any less of an achievement, in fact I do, but I just can't upload it =P.
  12. So... I'm doing rag and bone man, chopping an oak to get logs(8 logs total, 6th log was a nest), and boom! Nest. I open the nest, boom! Spirit tree seed o.O! Someone needs to calculate the probability of that happening, I'd say its somewhere between impossible and 1/1000000000000000000... luckiest thing that has ever happened to me. I'd say that qualifies as a nice drop =) Edit: I'm not trying to get a great rate or whatever, no pic because I don't have photobucket account, Just thought the chances of this happening are pretty rare and that it deserved a post, if you don't believe me I don't care =p, and please no more "Spirit seeds aren't rare" type posts, I'm pretty sure this hasn't happened to anybody on the forums lol. Edit2: Fine I'll upload the pic >.< Thanks for reading =)
  13. Sweet. Saw you today, thanks for the info on the new scarabs inside of the new pyramid, (they count for scarabite tasks X \ )
  14. Yeah I checked out your guide for my first few barrows kills with the stats in my signature... I started messing with the setups and ended with the one that works pretty well for me, I do one trip at a time, ectophial + ship to oo'glog for infinite run and higher HP and prayer (because I'm too lazy to do more quests than the first myreque one, and/or train construction). Maging with Slayer Dart: I bring: Neitiznot Helm Proselyte Chest Proselyte Legs 100 or so Rune Arrows (I don't use many per run so I check every once in a while to see how many I have and restock accordingly) Glory Zamorak Cape Rune Gloves (I haven't tested with under rune gloves, so I don't know when you would use mystic gloves) Slayer Staff Unholy Book Mystic Boots (I could probably use my infinite ones but I would like to keep my risks lower =P) Ring of Life (Safety is #1) Inv: 200 Deaths 800 Minds Ectophial 1-2 Prayer Potions (I have done a trip with no prayer potions spa'ed once and it was close, 1-2 doses is average) Whip (KC in the tunnels so I don't waste precious arrows/runes) Black D'hide Chest/Legs Magic Shortbow 50K Coins or so for the charter ship (out of port Phasmatys)(Yes, this is how lazy people who don't feel like getting 2800 coins every time do it =P) Spade 17-18 Swordfish (Depending on the amount of Prayer Potions) That is good for one run and I lose very little on average, sometimes making back money even with unlucky chests, (fourth run was a 1m Karils top, got me a nice Dragon Hatchet XD) I kill: 1st Verac - No prayer I sometimes get hit a lot sometimes barely ever, I kill him first so that my big pool of prayer points isn't drained up very fast, (I leave with 45-38 Prayer Points) 2nd Dharok - I pray melee the whole time, kill him... done. 3rd Karil - I pray range the whole time, don't use a prayer dose if he's under like 25% and just finish him and eat what I must. 4th Guthan - I usually have no prayer points from the first 3 and drink a dose of Prayer potion here, killing him, usually if he's under around 20% I can get him down before he starts draining me a lot. 5th Torag - I don't pray on this guy unless I have leftover prayer points, I just kill him regularly, I try to take advantage of the safespot on the corner of the tomb (he might move out of it but its more safety and time to kill him while I'm safe =)) 6th Ahrim - I put on the black D-hide and magic shortbow and spec him, kill him, and keep my health above about 30, not using prayer on this guy either because he doesn't hit too incredibly hard. Tunnel: I get 10-11 KC in the end (counting all 6 brothers) I usually end up going past some rats so I kill those for quick KC with a whip, I keep the chest / legs that I would use for whichever brother is in the tunnel on, and I use whip / book. I kill everything the same as in the crypts, but if I am low on swordfish, I usually use pray doses to be safe, and if I have plenty of leftover swordfish I just eat those =). Verac in the tunnel: Same thing just I kill Ahrim first because I am not praying on him and he hits fairly low. When I enter the tunnel I have a whip on and quickly switch to slayer staff and set auto cast slayer dart and can usually kill him if I have extra swordfish, I have never had to use a prayer dose in the tunnels on him. I usually use fairly little prayer points, this, Torag and Ahrim in the tunnel would be my ideal ones because I don't use prayer on them. Dharok in the tunnel: I just do the order above, usually use more prayer doses because in the tunnel I use a bit more prayer points I'd say this is the worst guy in the tunnel, with Karil coming in 2nd. Karil in the tunnel: If I have quite a bit of swordfish left I'll try to kill him without protect range. As stated earlier, I hate this guy in the tunnel )= Guthan in the tunnel: I'm basically forced to drink prayer potions on this guy, usually I won't drink another if he's under 40% Torag in the tunnel: I do the same order as above, drinking doses when I have low swordfish just incase, (I have never needed to do this however..) Ahrim in the tunnel: I switch out proselyte for black dhide and kill with the whip, not using its spec so I can use the magic shortbow spec =). Each run from entering the barrows area to searching the chest takes about 6-7 Minutes, with the running and restocking maybe 13-15 Minutes. I don't lose very much money at all as I said earlier, and with maybe one rare drop in 30 Runs worth 500k I'd make about 380k from all those runs, and with more luck comes more money... (Fourth run = a karils top so if I had that luck all the time I'd be making about 1M an hour  ) Yep =) Hope people with stats like mine can do well in there and still not lose too much money, I think that all of my melee stats didn't effect how well I did this, my mage and defense levels affected it a bit, and my range level would help a lot, and it isn't "incredibly" hard to attain, you could probably do this with like 65 Defense, 70 Mage, 70 Range, 70+ HP, 50+ Prayer(Although 52 makes Prayer Potions more beneficial). I liked doing barrows because of me getting hooked on that first lucky drop I guess hehe.
  15. Thank you! I got 71-73 Mage today, (Not for the new quest, but someday if thats what people are thinking) so that I can get my B2P for slayer. I finished my Enchantment points, quarter of the way through telekinetic and half way through enchantment. I hate enchantment lol, just cus with a trackpad it kills when your clicking so much to get the items etc... but still, great XP =D im 75k from 74 (w00t Shadow Barrage  ) Anyhow... You deserve a lot of these:
  16. I'm pretty sure you can use them without the quest due to the Attack guide not showing the quest requirement, ALSO just because you can buy them in the G.E. doesn't mean that they do not have a quest requirement, think of Dragon Scimitar etc...
  17. Agree. This would be a great addition to RS, because in this way you could not lose clue scrolls when you die to revenants in the wilderness, when clue scrolls are much more valuable than your other items like food, which you can easily get back. I think Jagex could make it so that some items could not be chosen to be protected. It would work like this; You pick up to 4 items (so that if you were to put protect item on later, you wouldn't have to worry about going back to change which items are protected so that you protect the right items) that you want to protect. If you have some items that you want to protect, but Jagex doesn't let you protect them, you just can't choose those items to be protected, and only if they would naturally be protected you will keep them. If you want to let some of the items be chosen by the current rule, you just don't pick 4 items, and all of the remaining items that can be protected will be chosen by value. ALSO, I thought of this while I was typing the rest of this, that one of the items would be chosen as your fourth for protect item, so that if you DON'T put on protect item, RS knows which items to keep, so yeah... they would have to allow you to pick which one would be protected with protect item too. So... basically what would happen would be lets say you bring 7 items Lets list these items in an example situation: You protect 3 items so that you can save an item that you cannot choose, but want to keep. Item 1: Clue Scroll - You want to keep it but you can't choose it, Item 2: Watch - You want to keep this, so you select it Item 3: Sextant - You want to keep this, so you select it Item 4: Chart - You want to keep this, so you select it Item 5: Spade - Not valuable, and it protects over Item 1, so you can drop it incase your going to die. Item 6: Antipoison - For those ****ing revs  Drop it incase your going to die. Item 7: Prayer Potion - For Revs, but not as valuable as the clue, drop it incase death is close and use it. You don't make it to the location in time, a rev is killing you, toss on your Protect range and your Protect item and you get poisoned, antipoison up, your low on pray, pray pot up, but your almost dead and going to die, so you drop your spade antipoison and prayer potion, die, and you automatically had the Watch Sextant and Chart picked, and your clue scroll is kept, along with your coords items, \ no worries, go back and get your clue done on a different world with more food maybe, :P Items 2-7 were situational, but basically you select items 2, 3, and 4, cannot pick item 1, but want to keep it, so you drop items 5, 6, and 7. This situation could have been a bunch of nice gear, lets say this example, and lets see what would happen in two situations. Without this in place you might have items 1-7, you automatically keep items 1-4 with protect item on, but one of the items you do not want, and you want a different item, say item 5. Items 6-7 are irrelevant, as you don't care about them lol. You die, lose items 5-7 and keep items 1-4, and get really angry about losing item 5 when it was more important to you than items 1-4. With this in place, you have items 1-7, choose items 1-3 and 5, die, lose items 4, and 6-7, and your happy to not have lost that. Yeah... I thought this was a cool idea and knew it would help, I hope these examples help show how this would help. ALSO one last thing... Move this to suggestions
  18. I'm just saying if actually wants prayer, then that would be what he would go for, or 31 if he wants ultimate str, but other then that it isn't very helpful yet.
  19. I would say 25, just for protect item, if you really feel like you can take 6 levels of prayer for ultimate strength, you can get that, but, having ultimate strength won't be a huge advantage when you wish to K0 someone and you want to switch to ur 2h fast and do a quick k0 and not worry about putting on prayer, If your really unworried about combat, you could get eagle eye, but you don't really need it.
  20. If my friend asks me if I want to go PKing, and I feel like pking but don't want to risk all my stuff, I want to bring a set of welfare gear (I know, I know, don't respond if you don't have anything but blah blah noob welfare blah blah) to just have fun with, what could I bring, and please tell me what you guys think of? (Members BTW) (I will be meleeing, but if you got any sets of gear for any combo at all It would be great to know) I'm thinking something like this: Full Proselyte - 25k Climbing Boots - 1k (I think...) Ring of Recoil - 1k (Rounding up) Spotted / Spottier Cape (I have hunter lvl) - ~4k Strength Amulet - 1k ([bleep]y? I can buy the kebb claws) Black D-hide Vambraces - ~8k(Forgot price on those) DDS - 37k+ Total: ~77k Inventory: Zamorak Brew(4) Super Defense Potion(4) Antipoison(4) 25 Sharks Total: About 100k per set of gear. Dunno exactly, love to see info =D
  21. Wow, nice for a 77, im 82, I could probably get all of those stats lol
  22. Ok, thanks for the advice, I'm still going to watch that "future pvp update" so that I know that levelling defense is better than leaving it at 1 because with that update it could bring 1 defense back into being what you should have. ;) I will probably level my mage with fist of guthix a while, I would like to get members maybe on that account as well (or just switch it with my main), so I can go Barrage DDS ftw  .
  23. I'm thinking of making a 1 def f2p pure (possibly members after a while, but mostly f2p) with basically (when maxed out): 99 att 99 str 99 range 99 mage 99 hp 1 defense 31 pray 1 summoning 93 combat Currently (I got school so no noob comments heh) 10 att 17 str 1 range 4 mage 14 hp 1 defense 1 prayer 1 summoning ? Combat I'm mainly training with full iron and the highest scimitar availibile, I am wondering how I should train str / att (what to kill, what to bring) mage / range, and I Intend to gain HP levels with mage, but if other ways are faster then I can take those, I already have my 82 main so I will know basically what you are talking about. I was thinking, would it be beneficial to gain defense / prayer at level 93? I was thinking possibly: 5/20/30/40 defense for steel/mith/addy/rune possibly and/or 11/13/25/31/43 prayer for completing restless ghost / low str prayer / item pro / ultimate str / melee pro I'd probably be using: Full Monks(if I decide to level prayer)/Iron/Steel/Mith/Addy/Rune Strength Amulet Leather/SoS boots Green D-hide vambs Rune Scim/2h(for k0s) 1 Str pot rest Sword/lobbies
  24. Here are a few choices for Levelling strength: Yaks, 50 HP each, Respawn time, 5 seconds, Location: Neitiznot Yaks are good xp for a while but after a point they become easy to kill, just bring whatever you want, strength gear is recommended. Dagganoths, ? HP each, Respawn time: (doesn't matter, theres tons), Location under the Lighthouse in Horror from the Deep Bring whatever you want melee-wise just go for str bonus, but a little defense bonus will help as well. For this method to be effective just bring about 400 noted lobbies, 10k gp, and 3 super attack/defense potions, they should last a while, then just kill kill kill, when you run out of lobbies, just go upstairs, sell however many you need to get an inventory full (22 slots left, sell 22) then buy them back unnoted and repeat. Giant Skeletons, ? HP each, Respawn time: (doesn't matter, theres plenty), Location: in the Shadow Dungeon (damis from Desert Treasure) you must have started DT and gotten the ring of visibility, just wear whatever you can for Strength, a ring of life and bring the following in your inventory: Ring of Visibility, Super Attack x 5, and the rest of your inventory full of Prayer Potions, then just find whatever spot suits you the best, and kill them with protect melee on. Those are just a few methods I thought of when I read your post. Of course, if you find another way then go ahead :D
