Your thoughts on the Summoning exception are 100% accurate. Might want to wait til the multiplier drops before doing that. As for the Herblore advice, can't say I'm experienced with that, so I'll stick to what I know :P Edit: Piesofdoom beat me to the punch :D

Magpies can only give the loot specified the the Impetuous Impulses guide. I have personally looted many many Magpies and they've only given me what's listed in the guide. The Kingly impling can give Onyx stones and I think the Dragon can give Dragonstones, but no other implings can give that loot.

Here's my little secret as of this past week. Teak planks are actually cheaper at the moment. They're a little more gp, but they are cheaper in terms of GP/XP. :thumbup:

The counter will say 87 but it's including the 4 crafting XP you're receiving for stringing the jewellery. I hope this helps clear that up. I'm just going to be completely frank with what I think and see where it lands me :P I do believe we all have souls, I think it's our spiritual side that remains even after out physical bodies have turned to dust. Now I also believe that soul does not linger around here on Earth afterward; instead, it transcends to Heaven. I believe there's an eternal Heaven afterward, but that's an entirely new discussion.
