  1. Hi. There are some misspelled cities and monsters across Tip.It that should be changed. I'm too lazy to list out all of the pages (there are a lot), but Google does the job for me. Taverly should be Taverley. Relleka and Relekka should be Rellekka. Dagganoth should be Dagannoth. Fremmenik and Fremenik should be Fremennik. Burthrope should be Burthorpe. Kharyll should be Kharyrll. Canafis should be Canifis. Lleyta should be Lletya. Jatiszo should be Jatizso. Karajama should be Karamja. Pollivneach and Pollniveach should be Pollnivneach. [Crew edit: I've added a strikemark through the items that are complete. I added quotes around a few search terms to further eliminate unnecessary results. - Speedyshel]
  2. I used Runescape wiki after i bought ring. I never looked at KB. And Runescape wiki states ring does not take of 10% of special bar, it takes of 10% percentage of a special attack percentage. + Math error fixed. Wait, I don't understand. The RS Wiki says that it uses 10% less of the special attack percentage, which is correct. Right?
  3. I ran a Regex test on your item database and found that a large amount of items were incorrectly capitalized. The full list is: Acetic Acid Book o' Piracy Book Of Haricanto Brimhaven Tablet Builder's Trousers Castle Sketch 3 Castle Wars enthusiast cape Castle Wars flag cape Castle Wars hobbyist cape Castle Wars kills cape Castle Wars manual Castle Wars professional cape Chimp Ice Chocolate Egg -1- Chocolate Egg -2- Chocolate Egg -3- Chocolate Egg -4- Combination Runes Cyrusis's Chest Dark Bow Dark Bow -Blue- Dark Bow -Green- Dark Bow -White- Dark Bow -Yellow- Death Tiara Demon Horn necklace Dihydrogen Monoxide Dodgy Flyer Fire Tiara Flagstaff of Festivities Glough's Journal Green Dragonhide Griffin Feather Guthix Cape H.A.M. prison key Hazeel's Mark Helmet of Trials History of Iban Honey Badger pouch Humble Pie Icefiend Net Iron Javelin (p++) KGP agent Korasi's Sword Lexicus Runewright's journal Lily of the Valley Magic Beans Magic Butterfly Net Oil lantern Frame Old Coin Old Symbol Omni Talisman Pith Helmet Powdered Tin ore Primal Spear (p) Prison Uniform Top Prison Uniform Trousers Promethium Spear (p) Racing Boots Ranger Path Key Relleka Tablet Rimmington Tablet Scythe Sharpener Soaked Kindling Sodium Chloride Spiked Helmet Spirit Cape Taverly Tablet The Price of Betrayal Tome of Frost Unpolished goblin Skull Varrock Teleport Yanille Tablet Zephyrium Spear (p++) I can't be certain that all of these are wrong, but it seems like nearly all items in-game do not have the second word capitalized, and looking at them seems to confirm it. You can confirm these entries by using QuickChat and using "I got an item..." and searching for the item. In addition, the two items in the database that use the word "Taverly" should be spelled correctly.
  4. Third thing: Spider on a shaft is actually called "Spider on shaft", and Spider on a stick is "Spider on stick".
  5. The amount of money you get as a reward is on a sliding scale based on your number of tasks completed it seems. If you have a new account, you only get 10 coins for completing a task.
  6. I was trending towards that idea, it seems you beat me to that. This seems like a very viable hypothesis. We should start testing in PvP, this could be interesting. On a side note, testing monsters' effective defense will take a while (we'd probably want at least 500-1000 hits per style) so we may want to prioritize which ones we want to test first.
  7. There was one on RuneScape Wiki that I actually removed because it was inaccurate for negative and zero bonuses. Other than that, I haven't found any formulas that anyone is putting out more than a hypothesis.
  8. Grimy has information on two of the four things I mentioned, although all of them are estimates as far as I can see. Its not a big secret. The RS computer takes into account the item and stats you have and creates an imaginative die (dice). The higher your stats, the more sides the die contains. Each side represents a number. The die is rolled before every attack you make and a number comes out which you see in your game interface. So the higher your stats, the more possibilites you have of hitting a high number, although it is not guaranteed that you will roll a high number every time, which we all experienced in the past when we hit 0's multiple times. I made it very simplistic so I hope it explains it for you. I realize the anecdote for it, but I'd like for us to get some concrete numbers, so we can quite literally calculate your chance of hitting. If you know your item stats and character stats you already know how many sides your die contains. But it seems to me like you are asking for something not possible, that being wanting to know what number the die will land on. If Jagex' program is as advanced as it should be, the computer itself will not know it until it starts rolling for the next hit. I'm not asking to know exactly what my next hit is. I know that's impossible. I'm trying to find out what my chance is of hitting based on my attack level/bonuses, and my opponent's defence level/bonuses. For now I am not concerned with the actual value of the hit (which from what I can tell is uniformly distributed from 0 to your maximum hit.) Not really. The world is governed by laws much more complicated than we could ever imagine. RuneScape is just a program based on numbers. In the case of the things I'm talking about, there are probably true formulas that are used in the game engine.
  9. If you can link me to a correct formula for hit accuracy, I'd love to see it. The same for burn percentage and the other things.
  10. Pretty much. He really wants to get to the really nitty gritty numbers and be all anal about it. And not the good kind of anal. I'm sorry, but why are you being so annoying about this?
  11. If we do, I'd love to see it. I've searched a lot and I've found nothing definitive.

  13. I'm creating a project to discover some of RuneScape's deepest secrets regarding gameplay. After watching various projects similar to this fail due to lack of interest, I think it's time for all of the similarly-minded people to work together to find answers. The RuneScape Research Group will be a collaboration of many people to figure out how certain things in RuneScape work. These include: Hit accuracy - What is your chance of hitting a monster? Dungeoneering base experience - How is it calculated? Burn percentage - What is your chance of burning food based on your Cooking level? What is your chance of getting a fish/ore/log based on your level and equipment? Finding out the answers to these questions (and more_ could be tremendously helpful to RuneScape players, and that's why I'm asking for your help in figuring them out. To do this, we will need lots and lots of data. Even for simple projects (such as the food burning), there needs to be large amounts of information for each level. After sufficient data has been collected, we will analyze is and publish findings. Hopefully this information can be of great help to players. This is a project that is great in scope and will be quite long-term. If you are interested in helping out by collecting data, please say so here. Thank you for reading.
  14. Hi, I was looking through Tip.It old news archives and I noticed that the smithing guide and such had no information on warhammers. I did some more research and found that they weren't around in classic. I looked around in news posts and things but I couldn't find anything on them. Can anyone tell me when warhammers were released in RuneScape?
  15. In addition, what you call "Ailanthgus twigs" are actually called Ailanthus twigs, without a g. The same goes for the weaving ribbon. Also, the caps on "Ranger Path Key" are wrong, it should be "Ranger path key".
  16. Hello, It appears that the item database is missing one of the schematics for Between a Rock. In addition, they seem to be named incorrectly. There is the Base schematic, the three overlays, and the assembled schematic (just called "Schematic".) You are missing the first overlay from Dondakan, called "Schematic". It is received from him before embarking to find the other schematics. The other two overlays are actually called "Schematics", not "Schematic".
  17. Well, the weird stars in the SoS are part of the Dream World.
  18. Looks like someone's batting .250. Nice lying
  19. Looks like a good month. Charm sprites look interesting.
  20. I edit RS wiki religiously, so I obviously visit there a lot. However, I think Tip.It's item database is unrivaled (I'm working on fixing the wiki's item pages). I also like the community here, which the wiki doesn't really have much of. I don't use RuneHQ or Zybez very often, and I find that they load particularly slowly. As for Sal's, they obviously had the best quest guides, but they're often outdated and are slow to make them. My two gp.
  21. Where you finding this? =S Searching the main tip.it site Alianthgus returns nothing. Only Alianthus returns stuff and then its only in the phoenix guide. Sorry about that. Ailanthgus.
  22. In addition, it seems "Alianthgus" should be "Alianthus", for both twigs and weaving ribbon. The only references to Alianthgus I could find were from here.
  23. The relic parts are Relic part 1, 2, and 3.
  24. It seems like these two items have the same use in your database, but I think only "Ogre relic" actually exists. The page for "Relic" uses the image for Relic -Temple at Senntisten-, though I'm not sure where you got the examine. In addition, a lot of the names in the database are capitalized when they shouldn't be, such as Magic Path Key and Model Ship.
