  1. The picture is exactly the same as that of the 1st edition Tome of xp. The examine info is: A tome of experience (2nd Edition) that awards 2500 XP per chapter. In addition, what's up with Blood tithe pouch? You guys say it's from Desert Treasure, but the wiki says it's unreleased. You guys have examine info and a picture, so I'm inclined to believe you. However, I recently did the quest and there was no Blood tithe pouch. Could you explain?
  2. I give you... Add a ringmaster hat to George, an unknown pink hat (a fez?) to Ringo, and some wind instruments, and you've got the best selling album of the 1960s. For those of you with no musical sense/were not alive in 1967, here is an image of the real deal.
  3. I guess it's because you have to sell more runes This
  4. There is a fairly well-known way to make great amounts of money in Daemonheim. Unfortunately, not many people know the best ways to do this. Allow me to explain. [hide=The Method]It's quite simple. Take Rune essence (50 coins each) and make them into Air runes (12 coins each). If you can make more than 4.2 Air runes per essence, you're profiting, and you're also getting 4000-5000 Runecrafting experience per hour.[/hide] [hide=The Specifics]When you begin a dungeon, take everything from the starting room, and sell it all (except for the essence.) If you have any ammunition, now would be a good time to sell it. With cash in hand, buy as much Rune essence as you can (250 at a time.) Stroll down to the Runecrafting altar and make Air runes to your hearts' content. When you're out of essence, sell all of your runes to the Smuggler, buy more essence, and repeat. Sound too good to be true?[/hide] [hide=Requirements]The only requirement to make money off of this is about 40 Runecrafting, but you can't expect to make much money off it at that level. As you progress to a higher level, the money, of course, goes up.[/hide] [hide=How to sell runes to the Smuggler]Here's the only tough-ish part. Instead of selling 50 at a time, which can take a looooong time, you can pull out your old Mousekeys, which can save your life here. For a nice guide on how to use Mousekeys, see Wakka's Mousekeys Guide. To start off, put your Air runes in the bottom row of your inventory as this picture (courtesy of RuneScape Wiki) shows: Having hammers or other space-taker-uppers is nice so you don't have to move the runes down every time, but not completely necessary. Also, turn your Mouse buttons in the "Options" menu to 1. Anyway, with your mousekeys on, hover your mouse over the lower bit of the Air runes in your inventory, so that when you click, your mouse should be over sell-50. When that's in place, start tapping the "5" key and the "+" key on your numpad. Do this until you're out of Air runes. If you concentrate, you can easily sell about 30,000 runes in a minute.[/hide] [hide=Calculations]You can use exactly 1000 Rune essence per minute, and let's say you can sell 30,000 runes per minute. Forgetting the time spent buying Rune essence (which is negligible): At 44 Runecrafting you can make 510k an hour and 5.1k Runecrafting experience per hour. At 55 Runecrafting you can make 1.1m an hour and 5k Runecrafting experience per hour. At 66 Runecrafting you can make 1.6m an hour and 4.8k Runecrafting experience per hour. At 77 Runecrafting you can make 2.1m an hour and 4.7k Runecrafting experience per hour. At 88 Runecrafting you can make 2.6m an hour and 4.6k Runecrafting experience per hour. At 99 Runecrafting you can make 3.1m an hour and 4.5k Runecrafting experience per hour. Assuming the Artisan's ring gives 11 runes per essence at ~109 Runecrafting, you can make 3.6m an hour and 4.4k Runecrafting experience per hour. [/hide] [hide=How to spend your cash (the fun part)]Under construction.[/hide]
  5. If you recorded what their max hit was, because the hits are equally distributed across 0 to the max hit, you would multiply their number of 0s by (maxhit - 1)/maxhit. That would mean you assume normal distribution among 0 - max hit. How sure can we be about that? P(Maxhit) = P(Hit=0) or not? Before the constitution update, you couldn't be sure of that, since 451 would be equal to 450 (or 460 if it rounded upwards). Who says the damage isn't calculated in a way like 451.3 now? I don't think you can get the exact failed damage from maxhit-1 / maxhit due to this. It would give you a good estimate though. I have done significant testing to show that the hits are uniformly (NOT normally) distributed from 0 to maxhit. However, P(Maxhit) will not equal P (Hit=0) because the max hit may be truncated, as you said. However, I would say P(Hit=0) = P(Maxhit-1). As you said, it is a good estimate, and improves upon the current system that the crew is using.

  7. Still looking for more ways to actually use the coins.
  8. Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm trying to come up with ways to spend that money. At 61 Runecraft, I get back 76 coins for every 50 I spend. That means I can make 3 million coins per hour, and about 5k Runecraft XP. Is that 3 million including the time it takes you to buy the essence and sell the runes? It includes selling the runes. I didn't factor in buying the essence but I imagine it would be minimal.
  9. Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm trying to come up with ways to spend that money. At 61 Runecraft, I get back 76 coins for every 50 I spend. That means I can make 3 million coins per hour, and about 5k Runecraft XP.
  10. Well, thanks for the advice so far. Skeletal horde might be good with Fractite arrows. I'll take a look at staves, but F2P can only imbue tangle gum staves, which are 5.5 xp each. I suppose in members, it would take about 15 minutes worth of Runecrafting airs to afford full prom.
  11. I recently came across a way to make lots and lots of coins in Daemonheim very quickly. What are some uses for these coins? I know there's buying things to make armour, but those are one-off things. Are there good ways to train skills using Dungeoneering money? I'm currently F2P, so F2P methods would be most helpful. What are the best ways to train smithing down there? What about runecrafting? Is cooking worth training down there? Thanks, Cook
  12. There still is a possibility, however slim, of "hitting" a 0 and should be taken into account in a project where correct equations are tantamount. Now, if you roll between 0 and 0.1 (or a 0 and 1 in the terms of now), you still can "hit" 0.
  13. Hmm, I was going to do something similar to this. However you forget that sometimes you can still "hit" even if you hit a 0. You'll need to multiply the number of 0 hits by one less than their maximum hit divided by their maximum hit. I would think it would be easier to do this against players, where the defensive stats are known. I assume you're going to try to come up with a formula? I did some more thinking on this, and came up with six variables on your accuracy: Attack level Attack bonus Opponent's Defence level Opponent's Defence bonus Your Attack style Your Opponent's Attack style Those variables could be reduced down to four if we assume that Defence level/bonus has the same affect on accuracy as Attack level/bonus. (For example, the accuracy of an unarmed person with 99 attack hitting a person with 99 defence equals the accuracy of someone with 1 attack hitting someone with 1 defence). For now, I think, it would be best to focus on how the Attack bonus affects accuracy. We know, of course, that the higher your attack bonus gets, the closer you get to 100% accuracy, but it never reaches 100%. Also, the lower your attack bonus gets (in the negative), the closer it gets to 0%, but never reaches 0%. I'm not sure what kind of function that would be, to be honest. Anyway, to test how the attack bonus affects accuracy, we'd probably want to test against players, instead of monsters, so the data would be useful in later tests on the other variables. Starting unarmed, you'd test, say 2500 hits against someone else. You could do that in the Duel Arena or in a POH. Then you'd repeat the same test with, say, Flowers that have a -100 attack bonus. Then you'd do the same with another weapon that hopefully has +100 attack bonus (I can't think of one off the top of my head). You'd probably want to also test in between those numbers as well. I think that this variable would be the most useful to players. Just a thought, Cook
  14. I think they would be notable, seeing as they're tradeable on the GE. Anyway, this is pretty nice. Each Hunter Kit takes 1.2 seconds to make, and you took about 6 seconds banking. If you use mousekeys and whatnot, that banking time can be a lot, lot lower. I'll do a little efficiency analysis between this and High Alchemy: Let's say you lose 20 coins per cast of High Alchemy, which is generous. Also, let's assume you can't sell the Hunter Kits on GE. Let's give an XP/hr of Alchemy of 75k. For Alchemy, this is a loss of 23076 per hour. For Hunter Kit, it's a loss of 875,000 an hour. (350*2500) [(-875000 * 75000) - (-23000 * 175000)]/(75000-175000) (-65625000000 + 4025000000) /-100000 Makes 616,000. This means that if you value your time at over 616,000 coins an hour, Hunter Kit is better than alchemy. I'll run a test on String Jewellery later. String Jewellery: [(-875000 * 150000) - (-632530 * 175000)]/(150000-175000) (-131250000000 + 110692750000)/-25000 822,290. This means that if you value your time at over 822.290 coins per hour, Hunter Kit is better than String Jewellery.
  15. Its close but i prefer these because of the loot and the 200k drop from atriarch. A Great Amount Of Thanks To: -D jay99 for info on whips and platebodies -mooch84 for improved requirements -mister_moocky for several ideas/ fixes -askthedude for a minor helm fix -Aeil for many flaws fixed and ideas givin he made my guide much better -all who give feedback on my guide I hope to keep improving my guide so any input i could get would be great! 16. http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/runescape.com That's the best I can give you. It doesn't account for increased web population, nor bots leaving, or anything else.
  17. I already did it to find out if the smoke dungeon at the Tower of Life was real, it wasn't the real one. Well, not only can we prove our hypotheses right or wrong, we can even triangulate where everything is on the single plane. I already did it for the Water Altar, using a 90 degree angle (going south) and a 45 degree angle (going southwest), and came up with an approximation of where the water altar actually is on the single plane. It's way off of the main map. Anyway, we could make an entire map of the whole plane of RuneScape, because it seems like it's all on one level.
  18. I have an idea: We could use waypoint markers to locate where we are in relation to the world map. We could plot out everything. We'd have to use two points, and use the direction of the arrow, to find out where things are on the map.
  19. Well, I'm checking out RC Altars and stuff as I'm F2P right now. These are south of the Rune Essence Mine:
  20. I feel like people are overstating the value of a billion coins. It's really not much at all, in the scheme of things. Even, say, 100 billion won't cause a noticeable effect in the economy.
  21. The 404k was a fake, how are people believing that? Quoted for truth. http://img443.imageshack.us/i/mark2r.png/
  22. I lol'd. @ Den: I have about 15-20 RuneScape maps from different "eras", if you'd like to see them and do an overlay, or maybe do a bigger project. ~~~~
  23. I understand that 3HitU kind of makes his own rules, but why is he allowed to advertise here? Anyone else who does a thread like this has it locked on site.
