Righto', if I were you, I'd run a virus scan and a Spyware scan before doing anything. As they could be the simple things that could be causing it. Go to: http://www.download.com Search for Ad-Aware SE; download it. Then search for AVG Free, download it. Run them both, remove all the junk and try it again. You 'don't' 'rip out the keyboard' to get to your motherboard, anyways. And i totally agree with Pyro's first post.. It isn't advisable for a computer illiterate person to be fiddling with his laptop... And no offence if you ARE computer literate or anything, just givng an example. So, yeah... And the sockets will cause a problem with the CPU and your motherboard may not support the newer DDR type of RAM. A decent notebook laptop would probably turn out cheaper than upgrading anyways. All i can suggest is in the Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer*shudders* type in the toolbar '192.168.1.0', i THINK that's the address for any router. Have a look to see if the Setup's in there. The BT voyager needs the installation disk. And he might have to re-configure it, but other than that, it should be fine. Righto', opening the setup off a disk... Are you just waiting for the auto-run to do it automatically or are you manualy going into 'My computer' and opening it? Ape8191.

Exactly how much are you willing to spend on this computer, too? And nice processor. I was considering getting it, but my budget was too tight, if yours isn't, i'd go for another 1Gb of DDR, Kingston is reliable. Then you will be the 'bogs dollocks'. Next generation GFX? Possibly, because I will be buying the box after summer. I haven't kept up with the release dates on the next-gen cards though. As for the extra RAM, I don't have a use for it. If I decide to spend more money on it, I'll be getting better RAM, not more :P Lol, well, i love spening as much as possible on computers, if i have money it'll be spent on a peripheral or a component for my computer. =P But yeah, and like Shadow asked, how much does it all come to? He says he's actually burning a DVD, but it could be a home-made or one of those new DVD Digital Cameras. Righto. I think i know what you're doing. If you're trying to copy the DVD onto your computer, or trying to copy the disk, it may be scratched. You need some sort of cleaner to clense(sp?) the disk. *cough*happened to me before*cough* it was considerably embaressing, too. :P But anyways. I shouldn't be telling you this but if it is a home-made DVD i can. :D The cleaner isn't too much these days, either. Or if it isn't scratched the disk/DVD may have a copyright. And just one thing... Is it getting to around 98-99% and then cancelling? Ape8191.

I find that Java and Firefox do not go well together. When i was the noob user of Firefox; i attempted it but soon after my writing in the address bar went funny. It was writing fine and then all of a sudden it would start going backwards. After a while i just gave up and got the client. :lol: Ape8191.

It's most likely because you're actuall using dial-up. When i was using AOL*shudders* (dial-up) it would do the same to me. The only thing i can suggest is... GET BROADBAND! Ape8191. :D

It's waaaaay too dark and the writing is almost illegible. Lighten it up abit, make the writing a bit lighter and more bold. Otherwise, i like it. =D Ape8191.
