11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Pincers voyages are "only" 25% longer than their parallels in the Bowl :P Much more realistic honestly, can't imagine sending out a 14 hour voyage for 150 steel.

By the time you get to trade voyages this big I think only massive crew death and complete destruction of your ship would deter you from putting a jade merchant on board.

He's the Terminator dude. Pretty cool dude with nice shades. He has a great accent too. Pity about his affair with that cleaner, though. Hopefully no one else remembers that. TNPW write their request in an Asian (non-English) language.

Gained a whooping 7% to Pincers today, all my missions were 3840 or 4800 distance and I got a scroll in the morning on top of that! Wish I could keep this up lol.

The anchor difficulty is based on your crew and ship upgrades, I think. You'd only really have seen the 5 anchor missions in the Skull, where the jump was the worst.

Steal the Diamond
A band of merchants pick it up and start trying to sell it for 10B. I convince Kamil that the diamond is actually his ice diamond, and he makes short work of the merchanting clan before keeping the diamond for himself.

I don't know if that makes it better or worse. :$ Definitely not as bad as you were making it out to be.

Not his fault, but we all know it's utter bull. I doubt this content was on hold from before the beta was created for it to have been designed with the old stat-se...but I guess there's a possibility is that there are some designers who still don't understand the post-EoC environment, but that's so utterly depressing I don't even want to contemplate it. I love tasks and this is no exception, but this goofy implementation so long after leaving the beta stages is getting really ridiculous now. Oh well. I had fun while doing them, even if it was somewhat dampened by the snafus of today. The combat change he's referring to is the one that occurred on 14th January, and the diaries (and rewards) were in development well before that was suddenly implemented.

Q
Think I figured out how crew levelling works, kind of. Voyage difficulty/distance doesn't affect XP, only the region the voyage originated from afaik (this is true for story voyages and standard voyages, not sure about trade goods/scroll voyages). Scythe voyages give you enough XP to go from level 0 to 2 in one go, then one more Scythe voyage takes you to level 3. Bowl voyages give you enough XP to go from level 0 to 3 in one go, one more Bowl voyage takes you from level 3 to 4, two more voyages take you from 4 to 5, and then four more voyages take you from level 5 to 6. So I'm guessing that the XP scale in POP is such that the XP required to get to the next level is equal to the total XP your crew member has at his/her current level, pretty sharp. E.g. 100XP for level 1, 200XP for level 2, 400XP for level 3, etc. At the very least, I'm certain the XP requirements double from levels 2 to 6. Captains follow an entirely different scale which I'll check out when I get my next 10k captain.

Does it mean something auspicious in Chinese? Actually I don't think you're Chinese, so probably not that ... "868 is prefix/area code for toll-free telephone numbers in the North American Numbering Plan" Possibly that, taken from Wikipedia. TNPW be sees and explain
