  1. Frankly, I don't really identify with most of the fanbase. It seems kind of ... I don't know. They really seem to exalt the show and its developers, but why? I'm just watching it for my own entertainment, and it does get annoying when people find out I watch it, and instantly assume I'm "that kind of guy". Yeah I guess I'm coming close to this.
  2. Wtf gimme those mod tools Gimme gimme gimme. 70 HP
  3. You're seriously offended because he doesn't like your girl show and people who watch it? I think he found this more offensive, actually. I mean ... that's not a nice thing to say to pretty much anyone about anything, really. Of course, we already established what kind of poster you are :P
  4. Wow Halo. I used to keep thinking that your avatar looked like you IRL, but I never knew it was that close.
  5. This. If they make it permanent they could cap P2P skill levels at [arbitrary low number] for F2P'ers. That would work well as a trial, wouldn't it? Because both the tutorial and that quest would be excellent for new players in general, not just the returning members that they've been working so hard to keep. I get the feeling that letting F2P players move through member areas or get XP in member skills is, to them, a rather messy issue and one they'd rather not devote resources to at the moment. However, the new layouts of Taverley and Burthorpe, being much more self-contained, would make such a change much easier.
  6. The distinction is rather important because if everyone just reported "lag" as is to Jagex, they'd identify the problem as being with the connection between the players and their servers. This is rather different from an interruption in the performance of a single player, because while he experiences a moment of extreme choppiness/freezing, the rest of the game world continues to progress and when he exits the choppy period he might find himself suddenly in a rather nasty situation (PVP, MHing etc.). For instance, I tend to have a laggy response time in the LRC on World 77, which is tolerable and can be worked around. What I have no control over is when some other guy pulls out his Polypore Staff and fires a shot of his spell - the spore cloud being launched will end up freezing my game for easily 3 to 5 seconds before I regain normal control over the situation. This really isn't fun in high input situations, and this is the specific problem that Jagex should be trying to fix (and which Mod Krumm probably referred to). I've mainly noticed this freezing as a result of most of their recent graphical effects. Auras, Spells, the Polypore Dungeon, even the centre of Varrock all trigger this. However, it seems to be rather random in nature, as sometimes when the game loads up, everything runs smoothly from the get-go, whereas sometimes it starts out extremely badly and the freezes begin when the clown next to me decides to turn on his Oddball aura. These aren't the technical lag issues usually experienced in heavily populated worlds - these are instead purely a result of their graphic engine or whatever. This is technically a lag issue, whereas the graphical stuff I've covered aren't per se. EDIT : Durr when I refer to graphical problems the measure of these issues is actually FPS, whereas lag can be observed through the Game In/Out recorders in the Dev console - hence they're quite different in those respects.
  7. Amazing scene! Good on you to have captured it.
  8. Gnome advanced course. Actual RS player in /fg/ saving the day there. Favourite Shakespeare play?
  9. Doesn't this just make you want to reach for your wallet so that you can continue your quest?
  10. Too busy playing other games
  11. Spoken like a true pro :) I posted the link to scare the bronies half to death, they had it coming. I really don't see why people who are "pro" feel the need to flame people who enjoy themselves in *gasp* different ways from other people. It's nice that you posted the link just to try to scare us to death and because "we had it coming". Speaks more about what kind of person you are in real life than it does about us
  12. This relies on the assumption that the new area will have anything to get monsters stuck behind. All the area need is a boundary for that tactic to work. Not really, in fight caves (unless I am facing some majorly weird bug) unless 90s/360s/jad are almost completely behind the a rock outcrop they can still attack, not just stuck on a corner like meleers. You can trap monsters between the wall and another monster. Since Jad is so big, that's fairly easy to do. Jad will only move when you're out of range but standing under him counts as well, so you can 'walk' him to the wall. I still don't see how that helps when they can range and mage through/over/around other monsters That wasn't so hard now, was it.
  13. True Harpy Privateer  Avast!
