  8. Im going to guess the answer is based on the fact he is a conductor(pun on electric conductor) and if it is his job he clearly has natural immunity.
  9. [hide=] [/hide] its a given rule for mmo's that experience has value; therefore, items can have a tendency to be worth less then their components.
  10. most importantly the zombie survival guide is an amazing read, he never breaks tone so if there was an actual viral outbreak that formed zombies it would be an effective guide.
  11. Hmm, after drawing a little graph it seems that it's necessary that he'll reach such a point, and not more than one. My reasoning is: We lay a time-path graph. Day 1 is always an ascending slope (as he is climbing up and never goes back), and day 2 is always descending. Because the starting and ending points are the same (but reversed), the paths will always cross once, forming something like an 'X'- Same line of thinking I was using do you also agree that since speed can vary the intersection point could be anywhere between the beginning and the end?
  12. well a helicopter is only the best if you can ensure a fuel supply, otherwise mountain bikes are better. A thought on weapons, would a lever action rifle be an amazing choice, it has a better rate of fire then a bolt action but having to operate the lever promotes thinking between shots.
  13. Yes, you are right. If he was truly omnipotent, surely he would have the power to change this decision? yes, but since an omnipotent being can make what it deems the best decision in a time interval of 0 he has already made the "correct" decision and then can forsee what he has already chosen after he has chosen it. If you claim god has no limits then it is logical he can do things while negating our convention of time.
  14. I could argue "its a baby" at almost any stage of pregnancy, so unless you can prove an empirical time where it becomes a baby that has no merit. No one can prove at any empirical time when it becomes a baby until it is born, that's what my point is. So there is no way to determine when it is physically a baby, yet 98% of abortions occur before it is? How does that statistic work exactly, I can just as easily claim 98% occur after it is a baby and without an empirical time both are equally accurate.
  15. if a zombie still uses the human nervous system its possible THC would still bond like it does in a human causing some form of intoxication.
  16. if nothing can interfere with god then anything he knows he will choose he has already chosen and knows will happen. Imagine Im watching myself on a tv that has a two second time shift into the future. I could be getting dressed, see myself put my belt on then still choose to put the belt on next
  17. I could argue "its a baby" at almost any stage of pregnancy, so unless you can prove an empirical time where it becomes a baby that has no merit.
  18. I could walk into a store knowing im going to buy a box of twinkies, I still buy them of my own free will.
  19. that is kind of hard to understand but if were assuming god has infinite power then he can at any time change whatever he wants to determine the future. Think of it as being in a room full of buttons each of which changes the color of light coming from a bulb. At any time you can change or not change the bulb color(symolyzing reality) through your power to push buttons(god influencing or not influencing reality)
  20. One that still requires an explanation nonetheless. And somehow I see that explanation colliding with the explanations Sly disagrees with... With that set of morals, one is implying that all choices of someones value of life should be made by them and only them. He is saying you shouldnt be able to decide someone else doesnt need/want to live, but you have the right to decide if you want to live.
  21. bad luck describes the occurence of a certain outcome that is a bad thing from the viewer's perspective, generally two or more events is unlucky as opposed to just a regular outcome. As an example you bet 5$ on each flip of a coin and choose to bet on heads each time if the coin comes up tails 10 times in a row it is bad luck because that outcome is disfavorable and the odds of it occuring are 1/1024. 1/1024 is just as likely as any specific combination of coin flips, but since the all tails occurence is particularly bad (from your perspective) it is bad luck
  22. [hide=] No, thats why they need to maintain or create medical exeptions for severe medical problems. Yeah, and the partial birth abortion bans don't do that, but the FOCA does. They don't take into account the health of the mother. Even John McCain ridicules women's health like it doesn't matter: [/hide] I agree there should be medical exeptions, that doesnt mean I agree with a bill that removes every restriction just because one of them is a good idea. edit-- The logic here is that only person a has the right to decide person a's fate, its perfectly logical reasoning but since we are all too used to people arguing against abortion on religious grounds it seems very odd. Being allowed to kill yourself doesnt contradict with saying your parents cant decide you shouldnt live because it is a seperate moral question.
