why do people expect someone to produce evidence of God when by the definition of God there wont be any? before you respond that Im just using my beliefs to justify a lack of evidence, Im not. Really I mean I dont care if someone is atheist or religious or if they worship a plate of spaghetti(okay may worry about their mental health a tad bit there. As long as you are living a decent life I figure your okay off regardless of what God is/isnt in the afterlife or lack there of. I still hold to my belief in God based on an overly long explanation of how meaningless everything is without an afterlife

note--theres a small chance im thinking of the wrong church if so someone please tell me and this post gets edited well while you can in some aspect there is a very severe difference. That church was protesting at funerals saying soldiers had died because America tolerates homosexuality. Flag burning can have a legitimate rationalization but protesting at a funeral is over the line of free speech even before the context is considered. That church is just as bad as the klan or panthers or nazis or whatever you want to cite, if they ever have the nerve to come near me im going to have some fun with smoke bombs and flash grenades. I sense someone posting that im being a hypocrite by saying that church is wrong and that I would do some things that are illegal to stop them, lets be realistic here if you want a country of freedom you cant allow bull like funerals being disrupted. to dan, do you really think you are somehow intelligent by burning a flag for fun? If youve noticed I agree that flag burning should be legal but anyone that is doing it for fun is just stupid.

They guy who burns the flag is exercising those values and freedoms, he could also be celebrating them by using his freedom in this way. Listen, I am finally getting tired of your argument. I agree that you have the right to burn a flag because it is your freedom but doing it just because you can is ignorant. Im allowed to run through a city with no shirt on yelling look theres purple candy canes everywhere but I dont. If someone has a reason to burn a flag and it is a legal protest power to them but just doing it to make people mad is a true sign of whats wrong with humanity.

for summer reading I just read "A Midsummer Night's Dream", Brave New World, and Frankenstein A midsummer nights dream is shakespeare, and has no real depth or plot. Frankenstein is a very nice book;however, some of the characters are a bit whiny and too much time is spent talking about the landscape Brave New World is the single greatest thing I have ever read in a school and bordering on best thing ive ever read. I really suggest this book for anyone that has a bit of a taste for sci fi also I read the art of war and the zombie survival guide over the summer, both very awesome books

the triky thing with this situation is we are trying to put a value on life as an example if you were forced to choose between shooting one person or letting 5 die almost everyone would agree its completely legitimate to take a life for 5. However, if your choice is either kill one person or 5 people will be paralyzed theres a lot more difficulty deciding. I still dont get why everyone is saying they use abortions for stem cell research I could have sworn they use spare embryos in fertility clinics. Meaning they take one fertilized egg from a freezer let it develop a little bit then do the modifying to make it grow whatever they want. I see nothing wrong with using something that isnt going to become a baby anyway, its when we start getting people to give up eggs and such to do this that we are going a bit too far. and to everyone saying how birth control does the same thing, sperm or egg cells cannot develop into life on their own so its completely different

I dont think whether or not we cure some serious diseases is going to make or break the human race, thats taking it a little far. Also in 100 years we will cure those diseases whether we use stem cells or not. you realize that allows for the abortion of babies that are fully developed and could survive on their own if they were born right then? Unless you mean when the lungs start functioning but I doubt that was your meaning. Also, can someone confirm for me I thought they could use spare embryos from fertility clinics for stem cells? I would completely approve of using spare embryos that were just going to sit in a freezer and if people want to donate to make embryos for research I guess thats reasonable also. However, to everyone saying they should use aborted babies do you really think its right to profit off of killing? Im all for scientific research and curing truly terrible conditions stem cell research can cure but we need to consider if its really ethical to give up one life and justify it by saying we can do some good with it.

simple solution to this would be to learn some judo or other throwing based martial art so you can trip the person trying to fight you if some girl punches me im sweeping their legs but punching them would just be stupid. Also, in school at least if you punch a girl in a fight you probably will have to win another fight when some guy fights you for being dishonorable.

Its very unlikely the government knew about the genocide. I can see it feasible that they knew there was discrimination going on even knew that jews were being imprisioned but theres no way we would let it happen. This is different then something like darfur(spelling) where there are policitcal issues, there was already an open war so its not like we would be scorned for going in

interestingly if anyone is familiar with revelations whoever wins this election would be about 3.5 years into "ruling" by then also we are overdue for quite a lot of things that arent too good for us the polar shift, yellowstone erupting, severe ice age, We also havent had a major war for a while. Im more worried about the polar shift or whatever causing a nuclear war then actually being wiped out by the shift. All a polar shift would do besides really screw up our technology for a while is make more people end up with skin cancer which isnt exactly a species killer.

It has to come from somewhere. And people say that zombies might end up taking over the world and roaming endlessly forever. What is fueling them then? zombies just burn what is available in their body I would guess, start with the fat then would have to go onto muscle or whatever other bodily materials there are. official guide says it cant be explained how they move, however since the guide uses a very specific zombie there are a few possibilities, possibly a still working digestive track. necromancy zombies would be fueled by dark energy though.

well it would work on zombies with normal human abilities as long as they werent smart. also dependant on them not being good climbers. It could work with any type of zombie that can be caught in a ditch I guess

Im from West Virginia I agree with you though :lol: . Too bad its considered unethical to sterilize everyone that shouldnt be reproducing, if we did it slow enough could really help. I hate how bad schools have gotten with stuff like that, how do they even justify suspending you for something that happened outside of school? I can see if they made the two of you go to the guidance counselor or something to work this out but Im not even sure its legal what they did

well for flood or head crabs my plan would be getting a sub machine gun or shotgun with the same stradegy of getting to the top of a large building for necromancy zombies just for defense id be getting 10 gauge shotgun shells just because that has some nice stopping power. To get rid of the zombies Id dig a trench fill it with flammable stuff get a nice roaring fire going. Then id get some friends to help me and use spears/shields to push the zombies in. See page 187 of the zombie survival guide for where i got that idea

Mccain, policy and the fact that at least whatever he says I actually believe he means. Obama just seems idk how to say it, but just seems to say anything at all that will get him votes. Sure all politicians do adjust their positions based on situation (mccain changing his mind to support drilling when prices went up, anyone wanting to go after terrorists after 9/11 when they didnt before) but Obama to me just seems like he has very few actual policies. I know he wants to raise taxes on high income people and some other stock related taxes, and I know he has the strongest anti life abortion record in the senate. Other then that I think he will just say whatever is more expedient. also anyone that says mccain is four more years of bush needs a new talking point, its gotten old.

guess I have to rewrite some plans then, though officially the only real zombies are the soma zombies well to repeat if we are fighting slow soma zombies then I wait till a hospital has been turned then sneak in take all the food to the top floor or roof take out the stairs and wait. Oh, and id take a 22 rifle and as much ammo as i could get up there with a machete hatchet and anything else handy I could take. if we are fighting "super" zombies that can run faster then humans are stronger then us and such I would start making grenades and get to the back of a long hall hoping to frag anything that comes near me. Super zombies would probably be near unbeatable because their numbers would swell very fast. oh but of course streaking carrying a machete is always a good backup plan what other kinds of zombies are there? Only 39% of Americans voted in 2004, of which 50% voted for Bush and 49% voted for Kerry. So only about 20% of Americans voted for Bush. Understandable, considering his approval rating. Oh and about the next President, good luck getting a new President after Bush attacks Iran and delcares ML, suspending the elections. maybe if people wanted to complain about Bush they should have maybe oh I dont know voted against him :shock: seriously everyone Ill give you that George Bush is nowhere near being a great leader and has screwed a lot up. But if you want to blame Bush for every little thing that goes wrong in the world you are just being ignorant. and about the electoral college it actually does have a good purpose. If the presidential election was decided purely by population the candidates would just campaign in urban areas because theres more people they can talk to at once. If you do that all of a sudden you are alienating a lot of rural voters leading to more bad feelings between city and country people.

This sounds like a decent idea one thing is I only think it is a good idea if it is strongly limited, giving parents a few warnings allowing them a whole year to start getting signifigant progress, and only taking the worst kids. I dont mean only take a kid if they way 500 pounds but we need to make sure we arent taking away anyone thats a little chubby.

Agreed, I mean did they really think even suggesting a threat to the president could be a good idea? Granted any one burning flags in a protest is going to lose a lot of legitimacy by doing it but it will bring notice to their cause. I still say it is a stupid idea to burn flags, but just burning a flag isnt suggesting any harm to anyone by itself. Its when the message behind the flag burning is harmful that it needs to be dealt with
