  1. Well, looking at the recent poll "Forum Focus", it looks like JAGeX is looking into revamping and upgrading the Forum along with the rest of the game in Upgrade Year 2009. They've mentioned some of the things you asked for and more like: [hide=Poll Options]Option to include an image of your in-game character when creating threads Ability to adjust formatting of posts (text style and colour) I do not want anything adding to the forums Automatic addition of a player's signature text to their posts Beginners' Forum - a forum for new players to ask for advice from more experienced adventurers A post and player rating system to vote for popular posts Ability to edit the title of a thread that you have created Other Search by author Search by post content Ability to include quotes from other players' posts Larger character limit for posts Larger character limit for thread titles[/hide] I listed these in the order of most votes to least, so the ones up top have the highest chance of being implemented first. I look forward to the adjusting of post formats, signatures, editing of thread titles, and quotes. Perhaps it'll attract some more of the RuneScape population to the official forums, with only around 6.2k people visiting and posting occasionally.
  2. Veddy gud idea. Me wikey! : Despite the costume room's already incredible size (one can fit a few hundred pieces of clothing in there...) the pieces of clothing one normally would want to store can't be. For example the costumes that you suggested in your post along with yak armor and the many many weapons we have. Wonderful idea, I hope JAGeX implements it in Update Year 2009! :D
  3. Try not to use "however" at the beginning of the sentence, rather, incorporate the two sentences together using it as a conjunction. The revised sentence would be as follows: "Their price is a mix of the two, however, that isn't what makes them wonderful." Actually, that one's fine. "However" isn't a coordinating conjunction, and as such, a comma would be incorrect here. You'd either keep the current version or change the period to a semicolon. I stand corrected. Thanks for the heads up! : EDIT: Ah yes. I've realized my mistake. "However" would be considered a subordinate clause and is used at the beginning of a sentence with a comma following. How I love English...
  4. Wonderful, wonderful guide as always, Kent =D> . I'll be sure to use this in my slayer training. I really need to get it up. :P I give this a definite 10/10, despite the grammatical mistakes that I've found. This reason I do this? I don't believe it's quite humanly possible to be perfectly, utterly grammatically correct without looking over a large document at least several times. I'll be sure to address these errors in the following (I've done the parts from Food to Torso): I'd recommend you correct the layout of the entire sentence, as you use too much punctuation and separate sentences that are closely linked information-wise to each other. Some like this would work: "Here, I will discuss all commonly used foods, telling you which to use in order of how much each cures." Comparisons use "than", while "then" is used when talking about differences in time. Also, move your parenthesized sentence inside the previous one, removing the capital "Just" and the period. The plural form of "Manta ray" is "Manta rays". Also, because you abruptly finished the first statement "Same case as Manta ray" without completely ending your sentence, I'd recommend you use a semicolon rather than a comma. Would is past tense, therefore requiring the following helping verb to be past tense. Change "you are" into "you were". Change all "you's" into "I's" to keep the sentence consistent. I'd recommend the following sentence: "One should only use this fighting a boss, which one would never do while hunting for charms." Try not to use "however" at the beginning of the sentence, rather, incorporate the two sentences together using it as a conjunction. The revised sentence would be as follows: "Their price is a mix of the two, however, that isn't what makes them wonderful." Easy correction: "Bounty Hunter" should be capitalized. This type of sentence is regarded as a run-on sentence in the grammar community, as it links statements that don't have much to do with each other into one sentence with commas. I'd recommend "This is a very good food to use when you're ranging and barely getting damaged (meaning you're using safespots)." You have two choices. Either use "GP/Hitpoints Cure Ratio" or "GP/Hitpoints Ratio" as "cure" would be an inadequate word to use. The comma used in this sentence is unneeded, although it can be used. You would need to use the article "an" before "Attack bonus" in the sentence. Same as before, use the article "a" before "strength". Just a little typo, it's (although I'm sure you know how to spell it :P ) "Protection prayers". Also, capitalize "defense" to stay consistent. In previous sentences, skills and the first word of items were capitalized. I recommend "A common argument against using this prayer is that one should instead use the Dragon battle axe special. However, this would require you to also use the DDS or SGS special. " Special is singular because the conjunction "or" is used. Stay consistent. Capitalize "range" and changed it into the past tense form used to recognize the skill Ranged. Also, add the article "a" before "range". Again, consistency, consistency, consistency. HP should be spelled out. Also, "points" is not needed after "Summoning" and a semicolon or no punctuation at all should be used after "Prayer" instead of a period. You've already used "Well," several times previously, and you use this to begin a sentence twice in a row, making the phrase much to repetitive. I'd recommend you simply delete the "Well," in the first sentence. The "Well," here is unneeded and repetitive. "Cannon" should either be put into a plural form or the article "a" should be added before it. P.S. If you're annoyed (for whatever reason) by these corrections, just give me the heads up and I won't post anymore. P.S.S. If you need any further clarification on why I've made these corrections, just post so and I'll explain. P.S.S.S. I'll post this first to allow you to correct some stuff. I'll write the rest later.
  5. I'm not too sure either but I'm willing to help. Add me ingame, my private chat is on. Or you can join my clan chat.
  6. To anyone who says JAGeX actually defines noobs as new players, that is not correct. Found both in their Knowledge Base and Music Selection is the word Newbie, but no where is "noob" actually found (not counting the Rules section). Newbies are the new players, noobs are the immature ones. Enough of that, onto my experiences. Before the trade limit was enforced, I used to spend a lot of time training construction and selling the furniture. Back then you could actually make money off of oak furniture, before it was only worth 5 gp a piece. A person wanted to buy a bunch for a ridiculously low price (long time ago mind you) and I said no so he called me a noob. I find that when people don't get what they want, they call people noobs. Low levels can also call high levels noobs for calling them noobs too, which I find becomes an all out flame war. I wish that this would stop somehow but you get used to it...
  7. Well thank you very very much! :D I'm just really thankful that someone (especially you ;) ) appreciated my contribution instead of just dissing me out! I definitely agree on a compromise adopting only several lines that sound more "scapey" to add to the song and keeping the rest the same. I think all the girls did great (but a bit louder voices would be fine ;) ) but the guys were a bit quiet and well, out of tune... Not expecting an American Idol contest but we could hold auditions or something? I'd really like to see this turn into a HUGE team project.
  8. This video must've taken a lot of hard work from everybody and I applause everyone for that. Definitely a good starter, but I'm sure you guys can do much better! I think you should keep with the idea of sending sound files instead of recording live. You can also try getting people to use higher grade microphones instead of the ones they use for chatting. The tune you have is good, but amplifying it a bit would be nice if we got some higher quality sound files. Redoing the video in high detail would rock (I understand your computer cant) too. Awesome job guys, good luck in the future! I don't want to sound like a complainer so I'd love to contribute. I already rewrote part of the lyrics and video info for you to consider and you can read them in the hide tab towards the bottom of my post. I could also try to do some parts of the singing if you decide to redo the video and participate in making the actual recordings of the video. I'd also love to try editing the video and syncing the audio with my computer. Hope you guys consider! Alright so here it is. Tried making the lyrics sound more original in differing from the original Boom De Yada and made the lyrics flow more: [hide=Rewritten Lyrics](Floating in space in the one RuneScape space picture.) It never gets old huh? Nope. It kinda makes you wanna- Break into song? Yep. I love big cities, (Showing a packed Varrock Square.) I love the pitch black skies. (Someone standing behind the vast emptiness of the black sky.) I love big boss drops, (Someone getting a godsword shard from GWD boss monster.) I love when newbies die! (Someone ice barraging low levels in CastleWars.) I love Gielnor... (Crowd of people saying "I love Gielnor..." near Baxtorian Falls) and all its 'scapin' galore. (People firemaking, woodcutting, fletching, alching, killing, and crafting in the same place) Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de Yada! (Crowds again saying "Boom De Yada" over and over in Catherby) I love the ocean, (Looking out from the bridge to the Wizards Tower) I love expensive things. (Someone with a party hat and bandos/expensive armour and a prayer/construction skillcape.) I love to pwn fast, (Someone ice barraging in Castle Wars.) I love what money brings! (Someone being pestered constantly due to their riches.) I love the whole world... (Crowd of people saying "I love the whole world..." in the Al Kharid Palace.) and all its leetyness. (Right clicked level 130+'s in combat standing on top of each other) Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de Yada! I love familiars, (A Rune Minotaur, Unicorn, and pack yack.) I love to level skills. (Fireworks above 2 people leveling prayer and attack simultaneously.) All of RuneScape... (Crowds of people saying "All of RuneScape..." in various people, changing 8 times) It's such a brilliant place... (Skillcape emotes and high alchers going at the same time) Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada, Boom de yada... 9. Personally, I think all of the house decors were made very well. An empty house with basic wood in high detail looks like somebody just moved in. The squares of light shining through the windows look really good. My old favorite was basic stone. It might it feel very hommy and comfortable, just the style for all the oak furniture I had back then! I skipped out on the whitewashed stone because of the desert effect, but it looked really good on other people's houses. I finally went for tropical wood and switched my floor board for packed dirt and glass windows for holes because I wanted to change. I kept this well after the requirement for fancy stone, but finally switched once I got past the level 65 point. It's not that spectacular, but it isn't worse than anything before, so I'm happy with it for now!
  10. One more POH room would be awesome... Then again, I've already designed my house around that so oh well, probably wont happen...
  11. [hide=Quote] Nevermind guys. Problem fixed. Genious me! :P Can you at least tell us how you fixed it, so that newbies who come here will have information that they can really work with? It does not do any good to just say you fixed it! Think about the next person who will have your problem, will you, please? ~D. V. "More details, please!" Devnull (p.s.: I'm banging my head off a wall over how many people do this! :wall: ...) [/hide] Okay, okay sorry... Well, I just reinstalled Java and it worked. I'm not that much of a genius really.
  12. Nevermind guys. Problem fixed. Genious me! :P
  13. Alright so my big desktop computer had some problem when I was away from home and it was sent away to be fixed. Well, it still hasn't come back and I'm trying to play RuneScape on my old laptop. It's not that bad, a Sony Vaio that's only 3 years old. The Java Applet somehow keeps coming up with these error messages: [hide=Error Messages] [/hide] Whenever I close and reopen the Java Applet, the second image shows up. The first image only comes up once. Any idea on how to fix this? I really wanna play RuneScape.
  14. Ya know, I was thinking about that. Guess I'll start keeping track before I have 500 votes to count...
  15. Go ahead and post whatever you've got in the Beginning Guides forum. Alternatively, you could just type it up in word and add the BBCode right before posting. Thanks bunches. :D
  16. Well, I'm thinking of writing a guide for Construction and POH's but its the first time I've been using BBCode in such a large scale writing project. I was thinking if I could first post the introduction and table of contents and gradually work on the guide? Or do I have to wait and finish it all on Word, because last time I checked, Word doesn't have BBCode. :?
  17. Of course I prefer RuneScape as it is now. Before with RWT's hold on RuneScape and its economy, a lot of things were ruined. Of course, we got used to it, and don't realize the fact that it's actually been fixed now rather than broken. I say JAGeX has improved the game for the better, despite unbalanced trade removal and the removal of old fashioned wildy pking. I'm sure this game will only get better, just think about that 150th quest that's coming out...
  18. [hide=] [/hide] Highly the opposite. Its more like those "STOP BUGGING F2PERS WITH WORDS OF BUYING MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE WE KNOW ITS PROS AND IT DOESN'T HELP THAT YOU ARE BUGGING US ABOUT THIS". At the other 2 posts, Its not about that. Call me when they send prepaid cards to Asia. kthxbai I can see how this would annoy you, but you have to just ignore those comments and keep on playing. And yes, although there are no prepaid cards in Asia, there is such thing as paypal. I use an american credit card, but its possible to use an asian paypal account to pay. I do live in Beijing atm but I have no problem as to how to pay for membership.
  19. Hah. Haha. Haha! HAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Man you are funny... OT: I really don't like leetspeak and hate to see it used. It's terribly lame and odd looking, making the account user seem like an uneducated [developmentally delayed]... Harsh I know. And please STOP the flame war for heavens sake! Gosh...
  20. Very impressive! =D> Although you should update the post on the forums here to match your website. It says over 45 abbreviations here and 50 on geclient.com. I've downloaded it, although you should make the window resizable. That way I could fit it around Tiko! : Love it mate, good job!
  21. The question is simple, do you spell those special level 75 gilded altars "guilded altars" or "gilded altars". We all know that the correct spelling is gilded (or at least I hope so ;) ), but I've seem too many people spelling it guilded. So what about you, if somebody asked what altar helps you train prayer the quickest, how would you spell it? Gilded, or Guilded?
  22. Near the Catherby side of White Wolf Mountain. At the fishing beaches everyone's at. There are also evergreens at the Tree Gnome Stronghold (recognizable by their pointed tops).
  23. Let me try and clarify on what you're asking. Do you mean multiple groups of gardens instead of indoor rooms? Or do you mean making gardens with indoor furniture in them? The answer to the former is yes, and no to the latter. The reason to this is only certain rooms can house specific furnitures. Chapels cannot contain portals, and parlours cannot contain magic trees. You have however, complete control on how to build your rooms and where to place them. As long as you don't go over the initial limit of 20 rooms (30 if you have 99 cons) whilst building your gardens, you'll be fine. PM me for more help with construction!
