  1. Whats worse is that I am 84 herb, and potted up to 92 herb trying to make the super poison (level 87) Then I try to combine it and get "This requires an herblore level or 87 or higher" and I'm looking at my stat menu and it says 87...
  2. You have rewards. You are now able to do higher floors. Higher floors get you better exp and better exp means faster progress towards items that you can obtain and use.
  3. Think of it this way. Before, there were no "communities" only one large, united Runescape. Now, we have groups of players with similar stats and more similar iterests. We aren't "splitting up" communities with this update, the OLD system was a division of communities. There are still places where people aren't divided. The communities that are divided, such as "Tactics", can now be more focused on issues that are relevant to a certain group. Level 1800+ players don't want to see tactics for how to defeat the awesomely challenging KBD. Similarly, free players dont want to see tactics for GWD. At least, thats my understanding of the idea.
  4. Well. I went on, checked out the 1800+ sections, saw that 50% of the posts were still trolls. Its probably been like a year since I even clicked on the RSOF forums, and now I'm planning on next years visit.
  5. Not to mention the fact that the top 7k players having 100k exp is not really something too terrible. Its not like we are gonna come back after 2 weeks and these same people will have 200k exp. The way the skill works, the top 7k are probably gonna be around 500k next week and a few million the week after. I can get 2 on average, 3 if I try pretty hard. The people reporting 20k/h are a higher level than you, and are getting 7-10k per dungeon.
  6. 4 years after the release of Construction and there are only about 6000 people who are even halfway to 99. (and that skill is fast) It is clear to me that construction is also poorly accepted and is a fail skill.
  7. Did you gain lvl 33 dung before/when you completed floor 16? If not, you need to complete floor 16 again to gain access to floor 17. I just finished another run through the floors, and didn't get access to the floors below floor 21 until I completed floor 21 even though I had the dung lvl required to access up to floor 24. Thats annoying. Yes, I beat level 16 and got level 32. Then I cashed in points for 33. Then I went to look for floor 17 and it wasnt there. Thanks for the clarification, but IS this a bug? Or no.
  8. A bug, right? I'm 34 dung now and still cant get into floor 17...
  9. I think we could use some type of system where you can bind a TOTAL of 125 runes, but you can split that up among 2-3 runes. So you could take like 50 bloods and 75 fires or whatever.
  10. Does anyone else think that this skill could use some type of deposit box in the starting room of the dungeons? I think its pretty cool that you can like, assign people just to farm+cook potatoes for the party and stuff like that, or make potions, or make armor. But the system right now is a little clumsy. You either need to drop items one at a time, use them on the tables one at a time, or go through the process of opening trade (which takes a lot longer that simply depositing the things in a bank deposit box). Also inventory space is a pretty big thing in this skill, and often times people have to drop things and stuff just to try to make trades. Yes no? Also does anyone think it is a little strange that you cannot buy any herbs? I mean, they let you buy up to teir 10 food, ore, leather, but you cant even buy the stuff to make some basic potions? Theres some bosses where it would be really nice to use a certain potion, but if you just dont get the herb drop in the dungeon you are SOL. Also I think it is unfair that you could have a door that requires say, 104 mining (or any other skill 100+), and there would still be a chance that you dont even get the right herb in the whole dungeon so that you can actually boost your stat?
  11. I think my biggest gripe at this point is that soloing is far too easy (so far). I have myself a gorgonite warhammer and I just run around with no armor, killing everything. Then I get to the boss, use some coins to buy welfare armor, fish up some fish, and finish the whole dungeon in like 15-20 minutes. I think there should be more motivation to actually take your time and gather resources and stuff. Im not sure if this is due to my high combat level or 28 dungeoneering maybe.
  12. These are not the only factors that determine exp. For instance, if one of you is a much higher combat level, the exp differences could be huge (up to 60% loss), if one of you gets the easy titles that only one can have (battle-mage, sharp shooter, berserk, master chef, etc) then that person should also be getting a lot more exp. If one of you is raiding a floor that had already been raided by you before pressing the 'reset' button, that's also a factor for low exp, and these are just the ones I know of. Yes, but I didn't see any obvious factors. her combat level was higher, she was getting all the titles, and we were both doing floors that were unchecked. what other factors could there be? Your prestige was much higher, according to what you said in the first post. Prestige plays a big role in exp, but I'm not sure of the eact numbers.
  13. Thats what I wanted to hear.
  14. I'm really not huffy. Im giving you reasons why you are wrong, and your brain is telling you that I am being threatening. Why? Because you refuse to be rational, and you refuse to admit that your wrong opinions are based on no reasons. To prevent you from being wrong, your brain uses a defense mechanism and percieves me as being the illogical one. I have given you plenty of claims and support. You have given me nothing but claims, and refuse to admit that they are irrational claims. Why? Quoted for truth. MHL, I challenge you to show me how you are being any different from what Jagex is doing. Even if they WERE being completely irrational, you think they are saying "You are wrong" and you just say "I am right" I think the designers of the game have rule over you. Sorry. If they had no reason for doing something, their lack of a reason is still greater than or EQUAL to your right. Your irrationality does not beat Jagex's irrationality, even if they WERE being irrational.
  15. I state facts and you respond with denial and name-calling. Reasonable.
  16. I AM objective. You ARENT objective. I have presented you with facts, examples from the game, examples from the past. You have presented us with opinions. Don't call yourself objective. You are subjective.
  17. All I want from you is an admission that YOU are who you are talking about. You keep injecting things like "MOST PLAYERS" when it is a lie. You keep saying things like "This WILL ____" when you have no EVIDENCE that something WILL happen. My problem with your discussion in this thread is NOT that you are hating on anything, it is that you are saying Jagex NEEDS to do ____ needs to change _____ and that this thing or that thing is factually flawed. If you want to look at the sky and tell me "I am going to believe the sky is red" Then go ahead. But if you are going to say "The sky is red and people need to change their opinion on the sky, and red skies are much better in fact" then I am going to have to disagree with you. All I want is an admission that you have posted nothing factual or reasonable. Your statements are based on an illogical hatred and dislike. You are allowed to dislike it, but you arent allowed to tell me that everyone should dislike it and that it is a factually flawed update. Just tell me you are being unreasonable. This is exactly what I can't let you just do. You are denying reality. I have showed you where you denied reality by quoting the post that Jagex made, and you deny my post. Perhaps you should check yourself into a mental hospital, because you seem to be having delusions.
  18. How? Again, you are just making blanket statements, as opposed to comparing this content with other content that has hurt the game. Why should I give a care about your argument if you have no supporting evidence? I have given plenty of parallels behind the design of this update and many other updates. You have just SAID its bad, SAID it hurts the game, without giving examples of other similar updates that have hurt the game. And many, many people do NOT. "Many many people" is not a reason to care about you. Many, many people did not vote for the president of the united states, but he still becomes the ruler. Seems like most of this thread is people who want to discuss how to play the new update. YOU and the complainers seem to be in the minority. Also, go to the highscores and check out Dungeoneering. I dont think that list of people has any beef with this update. The same is true for all games. The most popular MMORPG in the world, World of Warcraft, does not design based on player suggestions. They fix bugs and imbalances based on player QQ, but they do not re-think the intent of their game content based on what people are crying about This is a completely unwarranted and un-justified claim. Every opinion you share with us is based on "evidence" that you make up. YOU are not "most players".
  19. What the Q+A says: What you think it says: Jagex's argument for why it is fine that Dung uses old skills: YOUR argument for why using old skills is a bad thing: YOU are the one just responding with denial of information. Sorry.
  20. What issue did they fail to address? It is confirmed the team is considering changing the rewards. The solo log out issue is been fixed as they attempt to find a solution. There is going to be a reward pack 2 coming sometime. I never actually felt binding is that much of an issue after seeing how quickly people leveled. I am satisfied with the answer given to the minigame/skill debate. Point is, I really do not think they missed anything major. To your second statement, how is Runescape been constantly redefined? I thought Runescape is always, and will be, a MMORPG. You might as well stop trying. Theres a difference between having justified opinions and stubbornly denying anything that could be good. Jagex themselves gives a rational presentation of evidence as to why this skill is no more of a mini game than any other skill, yet for some reason its still bad. Theres no point in talking to someone who just denies truths.
  21. 1.) We are designed to stop drinking milk as we mature. Our bodies stop producing the enzyme to break it down. 2.) I can assure you that we have not been drinking the milk of other animals since ancient times. When homo-erectus was walking around with barely any tools, I dont think there is any way he would stop and suck on the udder of a cow. 3.) 15,000 years is still very, very recent.
  22. Haha. Something tells me they wouldn't be afraid of you. Your friends are [bleep]ing douchebags, sorry but its not ok to steal someone elses stuff because you can't get off your [wagon] and work for stuff. Sooner or later, they will steal from the wrong person, and regret it very much. They ARE the wrong person. And by friends, I kind of just mean people I am aquainted with. I use the term "friend" loosely because I don't really form deep friendships with anyone, but rather I like to associate informally with many people. And yes, they are scum. But thats what you get when you grow up in a hometown where it is easier to score crack than booze in highschool. One of my friends is in jail now for robbing an old woman in a grocery store parking lot. Lol. Fortunately I have gotten out of my town and went to a respectable university. Still, I keep contact with the people I spent 12 years of my life with.
  23. I wish they would have answered why some of the rewards that only require 20-50 Dungeoneering require level 70+ worth of tokens.
  24. Removed part of quote - Jimmy_Jim As I said, people can have whatever opinions they want, as long as they keep it to themselves. But people are presenting their ideas like they are somehow a logical truth, trying to convince people that their way is right, and trying to gather support to influence Jagex. Its just pointless. I hate people. They just cant think. Im so frustrated right now. You guys cant even defend yourselves for why this skill is any more of a mini game than other skills. Why is the dungeon world different from the POH world? Why does the "token" system make less sense than a "point" system in slayer? Why is this skill NOT "a part of the game" despite the 20 useful rewards? How is this skill less a part of the game than, say slayer? What do you do slayer for? The item rewards. What do you farm for? The item rewards. What do you do summoning for? Acess to features that make your lives easier. Dungeoneering offers that. Another crazy complaint: this is a mini game because you cant use your outside items. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS? The point of the skill is to test your resourcefulness in a setting where your survival is at stake. If you could just walk in with all your outside items then there would really be no point to the skill. Do you use fishing tools to do your slayer assignments? Do you use a tinderbox to harvest your crops? Each skill has its own set of tools. A purposeful lack of tools is just as significant.
  25. You still arent supporting your claims in any way. You cant just say that this skill SEEMS LIKE a mini game. You have to give support for your arguments in order for them to be valid. You just say "This skill is nothing like other skills." without giving a detailed analysis of the specific features. If this is your argument, I offer you a counter argument "This skill is EXACTLY like other skills." Who can win this way? It isnt a discussion. You need to elaborate. But honestly, if YOU (just yourself) want to hate the skill because "OMG it feels so liek wrong" then thats fine by me. Not everyone chooses to come up with rationalities to guide their life. Hell, its why religion exists (and is so popular). But my problem lies with the fact that people are saying that Jagex NEEDS to change the skill, or that the skill IS flawed, or that the skill IS a mini game. If you want to say that YOU THINK it is a mini game, then fine. No ammount of reason or evidence will convince you otherwise since your judgements arent based on anything factual. I just have a problem when people say this game IS something, or factually NEEDS something, because they are just giving their irrational opinion on the subject and treating it like it is a fact.
