  1. Cool, so now we have 'Power', 'Tank', 'All', 'Hybrid' and 'The other hybrid' armor. My brain hurts.
  2. The interface is still point and click. You can still play it on a relatively low end pc. I don't know what the third point means since you obviously had to learn the game in the first place. And finally, the last holiday event was the simplest one I've seen in years. Literally run around and catch butterflies. Basically what I see is that it's not so much a specific change that put you off, just change in general.
  3. It always makes me cry when I show people items like Vesta's gear and leather bucklers, and they say it's ugly. Then they equip their drygore longswords. Look at Dark Souls, they have many fantasy weapons, but they actually look good. You don't consider exquisite weapons an insanely guilded mess?
  4. That's exactly the point I was trying to make. The notion that eating cake heals you is so absurd that they can do whatever the hell they want with it.
  5. Constitution + cooking is idiotic. Because how much health you have obviously effects how you eat a peice of food same goes with cooking. I dont know how to cook cake but still i am very good at eating cake. And their excuses was it was needed to expand. Nothing was ever expand upon. Even now we have like 9k+ lp. I hate numbers being that high. It was uneeded. We are talking about eating a cake to counter blood loss and injury to vital organs. Are you talking about the EoC revamp of existing monsters, because going back and updating everything with unique combat abilities would be a monumental task. Everything that's been released in the last year that I can think of off the top of my head has some sort of special ability to avoid (kk, ascension, vorago, autobots, hardmode gwd).
  6. It's really, really ugly :(. Can we finally get some gear which does not look like it's purely ceremonial? But they managed to add 7 spikes to it! What more could you want in a functional tool/weapon?
  7. The point of EoC wasn't so we could have cool new bosses, it was so newbies wouldn't log in the game and find a boring combat system from 2001. I'll be first in line to admit that EoC is far from perfect, but it has a lot of potential. With the old system, all you could do to make combat more interesting was add new special attacks. Everything else was just backstage stat adjustments.
  8. I can blame the players who sat at ge in beta and duped phats all I want. This isn't a democracy, you don't get a vote. Jagex decided the direction the game would be going was a combat revamp, and you were welcome to offer ideas, but they were not obligated to implement any of them.
  9. That's like paying 12m for the barrows update that put spades on the burial mounds.
  10. You make it sound as if they are just randomly telling groups of people "no, you can't play anymore, sorry". The way I see it, this is telling of how poorly implemented pvp in Runescape is. Upgrading from Bandos to Torva will give you what, 10% boost to 'survivability' while the cost jumps 2000%. On death, you lose everything. Disconnections are a very real threat (much more than they should be) and in a pvp situation will almost always mean your death. And on top of all this, the focus on Runescape pvp is the drops. Compared to a game like Dark Souls where the pvp reward is the challenging gameplay against competent enemies, Runescape pvp is (in my opinion) a miserable cocktail of stuns, overhead prayers and boring ability rotations (pre-eoc pvp was even worse with the only dynamic element being special attacks and item switching). In short, good gear might as well not exist in pvp, the system is far too unforgiving of death as well as being relatively unstable, and the actual gameplay is so dull that relatively few do pvp for the fun of it, as can be seen in the emptiness of the free for all clanwars portal. Tl;dr: Armor's ability to protect you scales linearly, while it's price increases exponentially. Your goal in pvp is to profit from killing your opponent, but so is his, so you both end up using armor of which you have hundreds of sets.
  11. Completely random encounter with the second Battosai.
  12. 1. Hypocritical would be berating other companies for using microtransactions, then implementing it themselves. 2. What I'm saying is that f2p has always been a demo. 3. Being similar does not necessitate being bound by the same rules. 4. You claim to know that Jagex likes to make money, yet every time they do (in perfectly reasonable ways practiced by many gaming companies), you claim they are hypocritical or unfair.
  13. "omfg jagex making zam win what a rigged fight"
  14. It might help to introduce some randomness into the process. Ie, arbitrarily assign different properties to the same ingredients for each player. That way each player has to experiment on their own. Then it turns it into "I'm gathering prayer potions because the game arbitrarily chose them to be an ingredient" rather than getting them because it makes sense to be used with a prayer item. Having something like unicorn horns be used with an antipoison depending on rng roll removes the lore that unicorn horns have healing properties in favor of turning it into a child's matching game. This is only true if the system is done badly. It is perfectly possible, much like many of Skyrim's things to have a list of set items that have property x and therefore can be used to make something that has property x. Eg unicorn horns and a number of other items can have known healing properties and therefore be possible ingredients for healing related things. A list of set items promotes wiki usage, not experimentation and is exactly what we have right now. Nobody goes out and collects a bunch of herblore secondaries and uses them on potions, they wiki it.

  16. Don't see a point in that since in the end you are still grinding the best thing to get to level 100, regardless of it being useful. As for the original proposal, nobody would actually "experiment" with different ingredients, they would just look on the wiki. No matter what you do, unless there is fun gained to offset the monetary loss, training in RS will almost always be done with best gp/xp in mind.
  17. Dude, its a slight random stat generator. Get over it lol. Runescape needs more things like this anyways. There is way too much in runescape that has hard numbers as it is (more like 99%). RNG rolls don't fix the problem of boring, static values, they simply determine if you will receive a positive or negative one. Jagex wields the RNG as a blunt instrument, employing it when they can, but not necessarily when they should.
  18. Having defensive combat limited to one or two bosses is ridiculous.
  19. Yes. I've been wanting to buy an ely/divine for a while now just to give some free LP with the shield abilities at GWD bosses. However, unlike 'back in the day', one hand weapons absolutely suck. Part of that is lack of any good abilities. To be fair, if you're using a single one handed weapon, you probably have a shield in your offhand for which there are many powerful abilities. Unfortunately, while Jagex added tank abilities, we are still lacking tank gear and situations where tanking (tank armor and shield using defensive abilities) actually helps.
  20. Right now we have power armor and not-power armor. If we want real tank armor, it needs to be "Holy crap...WOW, this armor is magnificent" good. It has to make your life so much easier at bosses that using power armor isn't worth the hassle for tanks. It needs something like damage reduction without any ridiculous prayer drain, and it needs to work on all attacks. It needs to be there for you when power armor would see you dead. Edit: Kind of a rant, but I agree. We already have Nex sets for power, and there are many ways to make tank armor useful.
  21. YES FINALLY We're not going to leave a shattered elder artifact just lying on a dolmen for any joe schmoe to pick up. Thank god. Wasn't the last Joe Schmoe to walk into the complex obliterated by it's automated defenses? Fascinating! Really excited to see what that would look like! Betray two birds with one act. I'll take it.
