  1. I think that would be cool. It'd be the first set of hybrid gear to solve hybrid gear's biggest problem: defenses that are too low to be of use to anyone. Not to say it wouldn't be saddled with all of the class's other problems, but having T75 defenses across the board is a consolation prize of sorts. Wouldn't it be called hybrid armor rather than mage armor if that was the case? Edit: "A 3 piece armor set that is level 90 magic". I'd assume it would require 90 ranged and strength if it was hybrid.
  2. Extremely easy to fix. The drop rate climbs to the cap for players and then goes back down to solo rates if you go above a certain point over the cap. And I don't know how much bossing you've done but every serious PvMer I've met will tell you they would rather go in a medium to small size team rather than a mass because of lag increases and all sorts of other reasons. That's exactly why I don't want a boss where massing is the most efficient. The system of a seperate drop for every player works fine with an untradeable "side project" like the Armadyl Battlestaff, but for the big tradeable prizes, I think a single drop is a lot more practical. The system I literally just outlined encourages teams and discourages masses...did you even read it? The thing with your suggestion is that it doesn't "encourage" teams, it requires them. It's a very rigid system that punishes not lack of skill or resources, but the player not conforming to Jagex's vision of this particular boss (big teams). I've also read all of your posts on the subject. I think having a fixed team size just to be thematic is detrimental to an RPG in which choice is a fundamental part. Inb4 campaign to preserve Nex set prices.
  3. People whined enough when the kalphite king was released that only melee got level 90 weapons. Can you imagine the reaction if melee got level 90 weapons an level 90 armor? No, they picked the right way to do this, with level 90 weapons only until all three combat styles have them, then going back and introducing level 90 armors. Also, with level 90 magic armor, we will have a defence against the most common level 90 weapon.

  5. I don't even want to know how long it took you to buy those platebodies.
  6. It would just end up being balanced for enormous fcs filled with maxed players though. You can't have a drop rate rise with the number of players and still be fair to small teams, yet stay rare enough so as not to flood the market when the giant clans all start going after the boss. You will end up with almost no drops entering the game or a massive flood of them as teams get 15 second kills.
  7. Wouldn't that just end up with having a full fc with 100 people as you would gain a better drop rate and faster kills, in addition to the current downside of having smaller shares being gone? They would end up setting an upper limit on the number of players rather than a lower one.
  8. Why does every boss have to be unsoloable? Can't we just have one that is fun? Why not just have an RNG roll to see if you can enter the boss room for the next 5 minutes? Would serve the same purpose and spare you the wasted time.
  9. Consequences like giving you awesome spells or prayers. Having played most Assassin's Creed games, the only options i've ever seen were: Play like the level tells you Run in and kill his ass Sure, you could screw around with the poisoning, or throwing change on the ground, but it always seemed like more trouble than it was worth. As for Runescape, I'm expecting the usual "we painted the statue green/red/blue to show your affiliation with Guthix/Zamorak/Saradomin!"
  10. Didn't they change it a few months back so that your limit wouldn't reset if you sold back an item? I thought so too. It certainly applies on stuff I flip.
  11. there is a 100 buy limit. I think the only way you can get around this is by selling more of that item back to the GE. Since he had another buy offer in for 50m (which wouldn't sell for at least another 4 hours because he hit his limit) he was able to put a sell offer for 50m in. He basically just sold himself the dagger. Why wouldn't he buy the 10gp dagger then?
  12. What would hitting his limit mean? Don't buyers always buy the lowest priced item in ge, or is there a way around this?
  13. Here's a hint. And I'm not retarded ;) And all it would take for that to go horribly wrong is someone with a sell offer for 49,999,999 or less.
  14. It's a great vision, but I think it's beyond RS. Maybe right now, but I don't think so. if I understood everything that was written, then Jagex is certainly trying to get there. They just aren't making enough use of what they put into a boss. Jagex will never get there as long as they let themselves be held back by decade old limitations of the game and the whiny playerbase.
  15. I'm not a huge boss hunter, so forgive me if I sound rude or ignorant. But could elaborate on what mechanics would make a good boss? I thought KK was good and that RS players were just so resourceful that they figured out how to duo him. Obviously he was not, so I wanna know, what actual mechanics do you have in mind? Simply put, KK makes too little use of a fun mechanic (1hko) and too much use of a tired, clunky one (bubbles). Other than that it is basically KQ with more health and damage.
  16. I wonder if the high price on Primus hints to the fact that players buy his keys planning to kill all of the bosses but soon realize it's not worth it. If so, that's a lot of disappointed people.
  17. Since the spells for level 80 and under all do set damage (not tied to weapon) I'd assume they would just up that cap to 90.
  18. Releasing all of that in one update would just hurt them in the long run, as they'd have less to release later on.
  19. Also, releasing a mainhand and offhand allows you to use a shield if you wish. It's not a level 90 shield, but staves don't even give you the option. The difference between 2h and dual wielding are fairly small, so they effectively cover the offense and defence roll with one weapon set.
  20. I think a t90 Mage weapon is at the top of the list at the moment. I wouldn't associate that with a big rock creature though. Almost certainly level 90 wand/book. Are these just based off of the current weaponry in the game already or has something else been leaked/said? If they did anything else people would be in an uproar. Magic weapons are currently the only combat style without a level 90 weapon, and releasing only a staff would only cater to one of the three combat substyles (dual wield, 2 hand and tank).
  21. Almost certainly level 90 wand/book.
  22. Hope it actually takes a bunch of people and isn't duoed on the second day. I don't see how they could do this without just tacking on extra lp or some ridiculous entry requirement but would love to be proven wrong.
  23. That's not entirely accurate. A more realistic comparison would be the property owner running a couple of slot machines, and then outlawing all other forms of gambling whilst on his land. The property owner concurrently stigmatising said other forms of gambling. My aim was not accuracy, but to demonstrate that there is no hypocrisy here save for in the minds of the masses that believe Jagex is some kind of turncoat breaking their nonexistent oath of never offering a gambling service.
  24. "Because rules are for players" If you look *really* closely, you'll notice the rule is for player-run games of chances, not for *all* games of chance. If you read my post, you would have hopefully seen I was making an interpretation of those rules... and to be blunt, it really makes no difference if the rule says player-run games of chance and not for 'all' games of chance does it, gambling in or using an outside source on Runescape is ban-able so why have SOF. But then again, I suppose if your the boss you can make one rule for the masses and it does not apply to yourself, bit hypocritical don't you think? It's not hypocritical at all, it's the property's owner telling the gamblers they can't build a casino on the land he owns bordering his own casino.
