  1. Awe and wonder aside, I think they need to address the fact that with the draw distance increased, previously hidden areas are now visible such as the island seen from Catherby a couple posts up and likely other areas such as Crandor and the fishing platform. I'd much prefer them being in a separate area to keep everything from feeling crowded.
  2. Will wait until it stops randomly crippling me by holding down all my ability hotkeys.
  3. Good god, and I thought my allergies were bad here in NC.
  4. Thanks for answers, now to get the damn thing.
  5. You can take skill pendants into Daemonheim.
  6. Can you change the colors of your max cape if it's in a keepsake box, and will the colors show up on the "override" version? Edit: if not, can I buy a second max cape to customize while the original is in the box?
  7. I'm going to assume they are the "crates" you loot from Wilderness Warbands. Tsk tsk lazy Jagex.
  8. Really?... You know they are working on graphical updates just as constantly as regular content updates yet you would you say that. Ideally though one place that needs its immensely would be the feldip hills area and possibly the whole of karamja. Yanille would obviously be included with the feldip hills. Let me restate this: jagex uses filler numbers for their interfaces in the rs3 interface screenshots. It makes perfect sense that they would use fillers for everything else too. Um, hardly? So many areas are straight from the beginning of RS2, and here we're going on RS3. It's really quite ridiculous that 3/4 of the map and countless quest areas are going to be the same as they've been since release. I really don't think it would have been asking too much for them to hold off "RS3" before they could at least update most of the surface. We're lucky to get a graphical overhaul a month, and even then it's usually confined to a small area (case in point - Castle Wars, and before that, Slayer Tower, and not even the monsters!). Maybe we'll get a Magic Guild update next. They'll put up some new walls and doors but leave the wizards in 2003 bliss and call it a day. We can hold off updates until the end of time for the sake of a few who would nitpick minor issues, but what does that accomplish? Holding off rs3 doesn't mean that all the coders go and start making the rocks in the mudskipper cave look nice. It means that mudskipper cave's rocks have taken priority over massive gameplay improvements. Yes, it really doesn't make any sense.
  9. It used to be 5 seconds and it seems it doesn't stun anymore, only preventing movement now.
  10. Try the other themed world, I think it was 59. Played a few games earlier today and it had a similar amount of players to pre update world 24.
  11. Dharok's greataxe/Godsword. ^This if you mean a literal 2h whip it just does not make sense. A whip isn't a two handed device; everything about it's design and use makes it 1 handed. Eh, dual wielding crossbows makes no sense either. Rule of cool. Dual crossbows aren't beyond feasible - you can easily hold a small crossbow in a single hand and fire it. The only issues would then be reloading, but then none of the reloading has even been realistic in Runescape. Functioning as a firing weapon however they work just fine. On the other hand if you tried to lash a whip about holding on to it with 2 hands you'd just end up in a right mess and not really do anything effective with it. Of course there are weapons that have a whip-like lashing attack style or flexibility that can work 2 handed, flail type constructs and other chain type weapons fit this bill, but an actual whip just does not function with two hands. What's worse is that setting up Karil's crossbow like dual wield magic (both hands occupied providing rapid fire capability) would be realistic and achieve the same results as 2 crossbows. Instead it is made a slow 2 handed weapon and we are stuck with what is effectively a machinegun firing off single shots and reloading our dual wielded crossbows with our teeth.
  12. 32-36 hours until sign-up closes. The beta itself starts on the 17th. Edit: The new player's question is going to be gone in literally 1 tick. Holding a conversation will be almost impossible unless you are a supreme being named Lilu and that guy is not even going to see your "grats 99 cook" message. This is why we have private messages, friend chats, clan chats, special areas like dungeoneering where you can talk no matter how far away you are. Global chat really isn't needed.
  13. I agree with a lot of your arguments about people missing the point in minigames, but this is nothing more than giving the losers a sort of consolation prize, something that most other minigames now give. Castlewars will still be worthless for anything more than some safe pvp flag capturing.
  14. This is why we need eastern lands. The same reason people on tv will pull out 2 submachine guns and kill a bunch of people with them instead of wasting 2 magazines and filling their friends with bullets. Having a fancy show of arms is more important than making sense.
  15. What kind of people do they call to test :o now i start to understand why eoc was so crap at the start. That entire post was straight from the mind of yours truly. Nobody is testing yet.

  17. I see a lot of this 'strawman' and 'logical fallacy' stuff on the tipit forums. I've never really seen it much on other forums and never heard anyone say it in real life, in any debate. Why do people use this on here? It seems quite childish. Simple. It's easier to call someone out on one of those than to refute their point. The rest of the debate/post is then disregarded in favor of attacking this supposed error in logic, which is, ironically, exactly what a strawman argument consists of. This post is an example of the "Fallacy Fallacy" Fallacy. This fallacy occurs when a person commits a logical fallacy in their argument, is called out on it by the other person who then disregards the original argument as a result of the fallacy, and then the original person fallaciously argues that it's fallacious to call his original fallacious argument fallacious and fallaciously dismiss it on the grounds of it being fallacious. It's important to note, however, that I am not necessarily attacking your post or dismissing your argument; because if I did, I would be succumbing to the "Fallacy Fallacy Fallacy" Fallacy. The original poster hasn't responded at all.
  18. I would like them to make some effort to release armor and weapons at the same time. Drygores are cool but we need armor to counter it. Been playing soulwars a lot lately and if you don't have either drygores or hybrid armor+barrage you are pretty much worthless.

  20. How can you get less varied than rapier+claws/SoA?
  21. I am fairly certain that historically there have been informal methods of gambling between individuals. If we are talking about Medieval times, then the elite probably had ostentatious bets as well. Also, the point remains: the charge levied against Flowers was not that they were somehow inconsistent with the Fantasy genre, but rather that they were a particularly disruptive form of gambling with a host of other issues. I'm pointing out that although duel arena includes gambling, that does not mean that we need slot machines in banks or lottery tickets sold at general stores. Some things just don't make sense in Runescape, flower games being an example.
  22. There's everything wrong with gambling if it's not within the context of the game. There's no reason for gambling to be part of this type of game. If you really want to gamble why not just go to a site that has.....gambling on it? I agree that forum mods should have an opinion but if that opinion is against gaming morals in general then you should keep that opinion to yourself. Gambling addiction is a problem in general and a game of this type doesn't need to either start people in that direction or exacerbate the problem. I do not play an adventure game to gamble, I want to play a fantasy game. Inb4 posters with no responsibility for children do the usual mocking 'think of the children' routine. But gambling has pretty much always been part of RS - the duel arena is a form of gambling and always has been. Gamble rewards at BA. Rat Pits. And I'm sure theres more I'm forgetting. Heck one could even argue monster hunting and questing without a guide are forms of gambling - you are gambling your gear, resources and time against victory and/or valuable loot, even pking is a branch of gambling. There's nothing wrong with gambling being in RS at all, it's always been there. The only problem is the unregulated often RWT and scam linked player-player gambling. Arena deathmatches for a prize are relevant to the fantasy genre and history both. Some random guy growing a flower and taking bets on the color is not.
