  1. As long as it doesn't involve chain stunning you I'm looking forward to it. KK was nice, but it's "new mechanic" is used maybe 3 times per fight. For the other 97% it just trolls you with stuns.
  2. All I get from these posts are "Fear Jagex and obey".
  3. I collect my friend's bone drops.
  4. Continuous digging happens if you repeatedly stun and it can't hit someone after popping up Double green happens if you repeatedly stun. You need to pick better teams :P Got a few kills, 16,665 slayer xp each now, and minions popping up where you're standing hits 2k+, so... Not fun. I finally get a kalphites task then this happens. -.- My competency at KK aside, if a boss is going to punish my use of the only tactical element of EoC by instantly ending my trip with a double unblockable and inescapable 1hko, it should at least tell me what I did wrong. Surely it is not punishing you for using tactics, it is instead punishing for trying to bypass the tactics by continually stunning thereby causing double green and excess hitting. There is more tactics in working as a team to stun him, but not over stun him than there is in just spamming stuns. The only time I stun him is when he first pops up from digging during mage phase and using destroy. Destroy trips his digging off so often that until yesterday I believed it was some kind of bug with the ability. Stunning on mage phase never does any harm. The double green is admittedly rare and I don't recall what we did to trigger it. Stunning (from what I've seen) also only ever stops him from attacking when he first pops up during mage phase and when he is under the stun effect during his 1hko. This leads me to believe that he is immune to stun and that I should hit him for damage with stun abilities, but instead I receive seemingly random evasive moves and 1hkos. I have no problem with a boss where you can't stun, but KK is totally counter intuitive and it took me 6 months + forums to figure out what I did wrong.

  6. Why doesn't Jagex just kill the droprate of Drygores if they want to make them more expensive? Getting really sick of KK nerfs every month, especially considering that bugs like the continuous digging and double greening have been there from the start and remain unfixed.
  7. Did people really ask for the Kalphite King minions to be tougher?
  8. Except they do Fixed.
  9. People have posted far worse while being serious. In all honesty I had a feeling it was being sarcastic but wasn't completely sure.
  10. The only way that makes sense is if you sat at ge bullshitting all day instead of doing your clue. Most people will leave the clue on the ground or bank it then go bossing, which significantly raises your chance of getting something good.
  11. Where :o that looks awesome. Well the bow sucks but the rest looks neat ;D Looks like a 1950's Robin Hood movie.
  12. Whole dungeon seems to have Latin roots. Legiones are obviously similar to legion. Scutarius comes from scutum, a typical Roman shield, and the gladius was a shortsword. Not sure on the others but I'm assuming they have the same idea behind them.
  13. Minimalist fashionscape.
  14. Your avatar suits this post very well, representing either the ecstatic development team on creating the "toughest boss" in Runescape, or the frustrated player base faced with the prospect of this being the new boss for the next 8-12 months.
  15. I took the absolute bare minimum because I figured those who consider the dragon crossbow's price as a t60 weapon a problem would have low earning potential, hence the 100k/day...or they just didn't realize that the dragon crossbow has very little use at all in the long run. Though hopefully since you're remarking on the absurdity of that given how briefly players are in the t60 range, you already know that the fact that this update "made t60 crossbows harder for t60 rangers to get" is a really odd thing to list as a bad thing. If anything, it's pretty neutral. Wut. I've yet to see one after a few hours of camping, but I guess I just have bad luck. It's good to know that the droprates for them aren't as dismal as I originally thought. Yay statistics! You can get a key as a drop from the bosses, which I'm pretty sure is what he's talking about.
  16. So, we are now buying the right to grind a boss for a rare drop. What will they think of next?
  17. You understand it perfectly. The dungeon is designed so that you play through it and get the crossbow. While I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, getting the crossbow just seems so boring. I'll probably stick with something relatively fun like KK and just buy them, although I definitely expect some kind of drop overhaul in the coming months. If anything deserves it, it's this crystal church...cave.....library thing.
  18. Having already brought back strength bonuses, godsword special attacks, melee class domination (new crossbow looks to take a lot more time to acquire than drygores), critical bonuses on claws and other things like this, it's quite clear to me that rather than designing a good system, they just want one that looks like it's good. My thought's on the EoC aside, this update just doesn't live up to my 6 months of expectation. The one boss I fought (Tertius) was fairly straightforward, but centered around running away from damaging areas, one of the weakest and most frustrating combat mechanics in my opinion. Adding a Gladius (the most annoying enemy in the whole dungeon) into the fight didn't help at all, and when I was finally done with my 6 kills, the most valuable drop I had (over 50 times more valuable than anything else) was the original key required to enter the room. I ended up going to Tormented Demons with 2 friends and having a load of fun on a half decade old boss that doesn't operate under the pretense of an advanced combat system (stuns) while being fundamentally the same as a game created in 1999(?). Tl;dr: Jagex should make bosses that fit their game (pattern recognition, gear swapping) rather than try to implement systems that don't work well (dodging/accurate movement).
  19. Killed Tertius. 1. 1x torstol seed 20x ascension shards 1x tertius keystone. 2. 14,803 coins 18x ascension shards
  20. Libraries. Kidnappings. Experimentation. Crystals. So this whole place is the Duke's Archives?
  21. Just as something like a painting or pottery from an archeological dig in Africa may not be worth money to everyone, to the right person it can have substantial value. Monopoly money obviously has an extremely low value to most people, but to the right person (such as yourself) it can be worth a lot.
  22. So if you give a copy of your house's keys to someone you think you can trust, but they end up stealing some of your stuff and giving it away, you should be partially guilty? Not guilty of the theft, but of poor judgement. Edit: If you want to give your password/items/services away then you should be ready to have them taken with no compensation. It's your stuff, and so your responsibility to hand them out (or not at all) only to people you find trustworthy. Since people cannot force their way into your account except by your action or inaction, (barring extreme circumstances) your account and it's content's safety rests with you. Nobody is accusing the "innocent victim" as being responsible for carrying out the theft, but they effectively opened the door for the accused.

Polls are used to give the impression that they are actually listening to player "demands", usually for a trivial update. 07scape is nothing more than a side project aimed at retaining old players. They don't have to worry about making it appealing to new players or investors, so asking players how they want to proceed really has no downside.
  24. You could need 30+ players at any boss if the boss were a boss capable of healing itself, or it simply needed to be tanked for people to be able to get off enough attack turns to kill it. I'm unsure what the AU abbreviation means though, so you may have already encompassed healing in your post. Astronomical unit I can't see a boss that needs 30+ people to counteract his healing as being fun. That's just making a "difficult" boss for the sake of being difficult, just like Kalphite King's 1hko is there to stop it from being soloable. Edit: This is where I mention Dragon's Dogma, because they had a really cool take on this sort of thing. The game is single-player with some social features (You can make an NPC minion, and hire those created by other players into your party). Naturally, the bonus boss, the Ur-Dragon is a multiplayer boss fight, but you're still playing a single player game. It has a ridiculously high stats and an equally massive amount of health (1.4 million when the final boss has 100k). You have ten minutes before it flies away, and can only damage it through a handful of weak spots, which are destroyed after a while. The online version of the boss fight works by sharing its current health among all online players, and everyone who deals a certain amount of damage gets a randomly chosen reward once it dies. The player that manages to do the final hit gets an even larger one. Even if they don't manage to kill it, they get some useful items as long as they managed to damage or destroy a weak spot. As far as Runescape goes, that sort of mechanic would work well for a boss like the Penance Queen. You can't attack it directly, and just have to shrug off its hits while your team does the tasks needed to hurt it. This could also make it a boss based around noncombat stats; maybe your team has to cut a tree to get the kind of wood to make a ballista bolt, that a runecrafter enchants so the ranger can penetrate the shield protecting a weak spot that a meleer could reach. Runescape combat is designed around our character sitting there being a meat shield and randomly blocking attacks based on defence bonuses. This means that high hits can only get so high before they start randomly killing you (this is not a boss fight, it's a lottery ticket). With offense at a maximum while still maintaining fairness (bosses not randomly killing you because of RNG) Jagex is left with two options, the damage sponge or puzzle boss. Neither options are challenging, and both are fairly dull after you've killed them multiple times. Now, we have two bosses that can "randomly" kill you in a single hit, Jad, and to a lesser extent pre-eoc Warped Gulega. They've been around since 2006/2010, and still we haven't had a "real" boss use their mechanics, perhaps one of the most skill oriented bosses in the game. Seems to me like Jagex is content with creating bosses with high health and low player skill requirements.
