  1. The only reason you will need 30+ players at any boss is for some arbitrary requirement like Dagannoth Kings or because the boss' life bar is longer than the AU.
  2. World of Warcraft (and many other games) had a better system for "special attacks" and Jagex took notice. There is no grand conspiracy to leech WoW's players or to copy their game, Runescape's system just sucked and they needed a new one. It's even more cut and dry now. Higher tier gear is almost always better than lower tier gear, without things like special attacks and strength bonuses buoying them up.
  3. Then you have a whole different group complaining about "rapierscape".
  4. Yes, the answer should be eventually like member's skills to the 5th level f2p got. Bronze and iron dual wielding but nothing else.
  5. I don't think I could take it seriously. https://en.wikipedia...on_Proclamation
  6. Lets all use wooden clubs.
  7. Massive hits in games like DS and M&B work because if you get hit it's your fault. If you get hit in runescape it's the RNG's fault. I don't think anyone would find Runescape fun if combat consisted of 3 minutes watching your character get hit 0s followed by being 1hkoed.
  8. To make defense actually mean something, or to make it so you can't camp indefinitely at (admittedly lower-tier) boss monsters? I'm pretty sure he means what would be the point of soul split then. Personally I don't see the issue with SS too much tbh - sure it lets you camp low end bosses pretty much indefinitely, but it is a higher tier prayer requiring over lvl 90 to even use. Of course it's going to be over powered against lower tier stuff, they can't balance high end stuff against how it performs on low end fights if they did everything would just be really rubbish. I fully agree. It's nerfed enough with the 250 healing cap anyway. Isn't port armor already useless?
  9. To make defense actually mean something, or to make it so you can't camp indefinitely at (admittedly lower-tier) boss monsters? I'm pretty sure he means what would be the point of soul split then. Edit: Unless we get to the point where a boss takes so long to get to that the extra kills will really outweigh the significant amount of time saved by using void/torva, defence will not matter. Alternatively, bosses could actually present a threat, but with the RNG this is pretty much impossible. We either have 1 hit ko moves (Kalphite King), where defence is ignored entirely, or random high hits (Jad) where you can get lucky and get hit a 300 or have him smite you in a single blow, both equally possible and lacking in challenge. Now, I do like Kalphite King, I think he's an interesting boss and is fun to kill. However, his "signature move" is used only a few times per kill and the absolutely ridiculous amount of minions in the room quickly takes all the fun out of it. Most deaths are still because of you guessed it, random high hits, and while the bubbles are able to be dodged, the cumbersome .6 second delay and the obnoxious length of the mage phase again take the fun out of the kill. Want to make defence matter? Let us use adrenaline to block attacks entirely just like barricade. Hits blocked will go straight to adrenaline and higher defence bonus will reduce the amount drained. Passing 0 adrenaline will have you take the full attack. This opens the door for bosses who can have extremely high hitting attacks that will take someone in void's entire bar out in one shot killing them, but only a quarter from someone in torva. Defence bonus will matter, and for once we could have a boss' attack require frequent feats of player skill rather than be a gimmick used once or twice per fight in order to label it the "toughest boss".
  10. All I can think about with regards to their choice of name for the weapons.
  11. One man is outpacing an entire team of game devs tasked with putting out a sequel. Also, what does "lack of awareness of aspects of the game" mean specifally, and why should a quest be delayed because of it.
  12. Then don't run south? I don't think he meant literally south where you can run in any other direction and be home free. They circle the camp and pick specific chock points where they can get the so called lucky. So the corp cave, around where the sword of edicts is located, around the Daemonheim entrance to name a few. But eventually you have to head south to get out. Not true. Run to Ghorrock head through to ritual site take the boat around to fremmy area then make your way down. King Black dragon lair is also outside wild and has a teleport to Edgeville.
  13. 1:52 Nobody retreats.
  14. I prefer the new water to the current game, mostly for the animation. I could live with the color but would prefer if they picked a darker shade.
  15. 4 different pictures of a single player holding a wand. How can this get any more exciting?
  16. It's like we've been playing Steven King's: The Mist for the past five years.
  17. When I first logged in it explained that all settings were set to minimum, and if it runs alright to increase them.
  18. Runescape window should look like this Because some people are stuck with fixed screen and god forbid someone gets an advantage.
  19. Will post this here since thread is back up.
  20. I figured the shadows on bank items was from dynamic shadows, didn't check though.
