  1. My plan is to buy a noxious longbow eventually. My question is can I keepsake a hex (shieldbow) and use it as an override for the noxious longbow (shortbow?).
  2. Apparently 'Wight' does not start with a W, X, Y, Z, or number, so I got 'Estoc', the greatest of the thrusting swords.
  3. Could some kind soul post a picture of the attached max/comp hood? Edit: Nevermind, just found picture 5 minutes after posting >.>
  4. The way these posts usually go is that the anger and resentment is there from the beginning, it's covered up because showing strong emotion over 'just a game' is somewhat of a taboo. Telling people that something that should hurt doesn't bother you is essentially lingual posturing.
  5. The holy trinity of primal fears. Being bound, corrosive substances and arthropods?
  6. Here's a gif of the new cave crawlers http://www.gfycat.com/BelatedDirectDalmatian Looks like they've eaten one too many adventurers. It's uncanny how my brain now labels them as dogs, even though almost nothing has changed.
  7. It basically gives you interest on money stored in the kingdom, but pays out with skilling items rather than gold. As such, it allows any method of generating coins to instead generate herbs, logs, coal, and other resources. Some people view this as not in the spirit of the challenge.
  8. Will certainly be interesting seeing players beg for their lives rather than their items when they're killed because of server issues.
  9. So far I've won a single portable bank because I just came back from 8 months of Irl-scape and forgot that Thursday night isn't actually Thursday night on Runescape. Isn't that paying for a chance to win a ticket to have a chance of winning darts which give you a chance at a rare boss drop? You have to jump through so many hoops it seems like it wouldn't matter at all.
  10. Mod Pips has been with Jagex for years if memory serves.
  11. Jad is a unique boss. His tells are very obvious and his attack speed is extremely lenient relative to other bosses. The thing that makes him special though is the absolute mind **** he puts you through when fighting him. Jad is one of the only remaining bosses that still has some risk associated with dying, and it's something that your gravestone won't protect. Remove the 'trial by fire' of the fight caves by allowing players to practice beforehand and you remove the fear of failure which is what makes Jad an amazing boss to overcome.

It feels like they killed Guthix just to make the skill fit. Not cool Jagex.

It has about as much gameplay and relevance to Runescape as: scooping leaves out of your poolcollecting marbles that have rolled under furniture when you accidentally spill them onto the floorpopping bubble wrapcleaning up garbage on the freewayreorganizing files in your officepicking up dog poop in the parkThis conglomeration of the worst of Runescape's skills does not even have the decency to fit into the lore, and had to have a quest specially made to shoehorn it into the game without it seeming completely out of place. At this point I'd rather have Guthix alive than a new skill, which is saying something as I don't much care for the lore at all.
  14. Are any of them at all relevant? Seems like abilities would outdo every old spec, not even considering many were purposefully made to take their place.
  15. Props to Jagex for recognizing a problem and taking action. Didn't think they had it in them.
  16. You're asking why you have to spend so much time playing an mmo to get to the endgame. I said it's to retain the exclusivity of the endgame. Any way I put it, it will boil down to "that's just how mmos work, they take a lot of time", whether that time is required to make the endgame more appealing or to provide goals for midgame players. Not trying to be offensive, I just don't know how else to answer your question. The trouble is your stance is kinda from a dying breed of gamer in a game market not so fitting for it anymore. Runescape takes a heck of a lot of time to reach the endgame compared to the vast majority of mmos, even with all these things making it 'easier' and with the way they gaming market is playing with casual gamers more now and the way mmo success in general is moving it seems games were you reach the end-game and then have a bunch of stuff to do are more popular than those where you trudge through hours upon hours of the early and midgame just in the hopes of someday maybe reaching the end-game. That changing market climate does make it a very real issue of at what point does the idea of it being too easy and that just being how mmos just become an excuse to ignore the fact that runescape takes a heck of a lot of hours to get to the end game and in many ways that aspect of it is starting to place it outside of the market that is doing well due to sticking with an older model of gameplay for the sake of appeasing older players who dislike things changing ot be easier and brushing aside concerns with 'well thats an mmo for you' At what point do you face the issue that such a pre-game is potentially driving away lots of new players? At what point do you deal with the fact making the end-game so exclusive most average gamers simply can't ever hope to reach it also drives away players? Or do you just sit blindly in your castle and say well thats mmos right up until the point the entire game crumbles to dust around you due to such things making it lose its edge in the modern gaming market? I completely agree, though I don't hold out any hope of Jagex coming to terms with the problem and fixing it.
  17. The prestige system got shot down, sorry. I wish they did some reset system. You can perfectly set a new goal at 26m. It's only an issue when you hit 200m, and frankly.. at that point you've done enough of the skill. To add a few more thoughts on the gambling part: Who cares how this 'squeal' is displayed, or to what extent it's gambling. If that's really an issue, odds of 'getting lucky' should be removed throughout the game, meaning: * Fixed reward rotation for clues * Fixed rotation drop tables for all npcs * Fixed reward rotation for barrows * Fixed outcomes for herb patches based on a known set of parameters * .... If the use of random generators is perceived as tolerable, it's all or nothing imho. About the amount of exp from world events / hati/skoll etc. Could agree on hati/skoll being a bit exp-heavy, but the thing is... we're on a top-heavy level pyramid as it is. If you don't make it worthwhile for the top end, your event is a flop. I Removing the random element would take the entire appeal of the game away. Like it or not, we are playing one enormous gambling simulator. Drops, attacking, defending, minigames, events....all branches on the great RNG tree.
  18. Making high level content easily accessible defeats the purpose of it being high level. It's supposed to be exclusive to the ones that put in a lot of work to get there.
  19. Two problems: 1. Jagex has proven time and again that they are incapable of making defensive gear an equal counter to offensive gear. Ex: pre eoc Nex gear, post eoc power gear, the plethora of historically useless defensive specials, and the simple fact that there was a small fraction of monsters that even came close to doing enough damage to even take food let alone do anything remotely defensive. 2. I haven't played in a while, so I forget how long a game tick lasts, but that's how long it takes to change gear in Runescape. Nobody who takes a few minutes to think about it will use hybrid simply because the instantaneous, god-like nature of changing gear means that carrying an offensive set and defensive set (lol) will bring all the benefits of both without the penalties of hybrid armor.
  20. Quyneax has responded with pretty much what are my sentiments. I will add though that, expecting people to camp at Frost Dragons, for hundreds of hours, is not a reasonable expectation. Runescape is supposed to be a game, albeit with some grinding, but it shouldn't be a factory where you have to work for months so you can get one item. I am willing to make an exception for cosmetic items, but it should never be the case with useful gear. Also it depends what one means by 'earning it'. I have absolutely no respect for your degenerate concept of 'earning' it where people have to work for 500-1000 hours to get one item in an online game. It's not healthy for the game, or for the players, or the community, nor is it fun for most players. The game wasn't always this way, and I would prefer it return to better times. Ridiculous amounts of time spent to achieve a single goal is the direction Runescape has been going for years now. It may not be what players have signed up for, or what is considered fun for most, but that's the reality of the situation, and it would take more than some ge restrictions to fix it.
  21. I'd love to hear how buying and selling items for profit is a scam.
  22. Officially buyable rsgp? About damn time.
